it's because the way this universe works. the entire universe doesn't have access to all sources of music, people can be satisfied by sub par music if they've never listened to 'good' music. basically, it's because people can be satisfied without searching for more music.

True and sadly the only artists worth listening to these days are the ones that get no publicity, air play and fund everything themselves. Also, your friend has great taste in music!
I feel like he fights to make his way up on top of a pedestal in order to be loved but ultimately finds that when he steps off the pedestal to be someone real he is rejected. Its that duality of being a public figure that everyone loves and being a person that is forgettable and fades away. It's about hysteria and hypocrisy. They adore him on the pedestal but off the pedestal he's treated like a second rate citizen. He black faces himself (which is ok in this case since he has the ancestry) to drive home the way he's seen as a nothing, and to harness the symbolism of 'the big bad black man' that haunts white america's dreams.

Spoken like a strong heart and mind!! He must have had such a rough childhood, there's a little about it on his wikipedia story, but you can definitely hear it all back in his lyrics. He has very strong ones in his newer project Fever 333 aswel! Definitely worth checking it out!

Saw letlive. in concert last night, AMAZING! They put on a fantastic show. After the show I gotta meet up with Jason. We took pictures and got his autograph and everything. He's so humble and down to earth, just another reason to love him!
I love this sense of insanity, Jason pulls it off phenomenally. Great song too. These guys have some of the best lyrical content from a newer band.

Saw these guys live for the first time this year on warped and i have never felt how i felt on that day at a show before, and ive been to a lot of shows, good bands too. Im seeing them again this year with Everytime I Die on 12/19/13 !!!!

I met Jason at the vclub where I live once and he was one of the most wonderful people I had ever met. I had 12 inch Liberty spikes. He called me out and dedicated a song to me then after the show he came down in the crowd and I talked to him about how he beat cancer, which is amazing, and I hugged him twice. Just such a all around rad dude. Come back to Huntington please.
