I am 5 minutes into your flosstube and had to subscribe. Anyone who has 3 shelves of Stephen King books and loud dogs is my kinda gal. Okay now I’ll settle down and watch the stitching 🤣
Great start, hope to see you again and again. I, too, am an avid reader & a addicted stitcher. My tip: Audiobooks (BUT) at first listen to an audiobook of a book you have already read. That way, you get used to listening to a book & not get concerned if the mind drifts b/c YOU HAVE ALREADY READ IT. The first time I listened to an audiobook it was Rebecca, which I must have read 3 times. From then on, I can listen to an audiobook COLD (never read the hardback). Just saying that is how I solved the problem of doing two things at once. See you again.
Yes, I stitch and listen. And I love it! Podcasts are also enjoyable. My eye’s won’t let me stitch after 7 PM so I still read so much too. TV hasn’t ever held my attention but oh, my book and stitch collection (and sympathy to whoever has to get rid of all of this if I close my eyes permanently).
You did great on your video - you're a natural! I love all of your stitching, but ESPECIALLY love your Stephen King collection! I've read basically all of his novels by this point, and and avidly collecting them all. I've even read the entire Gunslinger series! I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos 😀
Oh my gosh - I have had to pause my viewing at 54.21 when you revealed the Stephen King house!!! I am watching you whilst stitching on this very same house! IT is a dream - I noticed your Stephen King books behind you and had you not shown this- I was going to recommend it. It is sooooo much fun
🐝 I just found you. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to bingewatching the rest! I love your sassy peronality, your library, your projects, and your geographic location is close to my family.
Hi Rebecca! 🇨🇦💜💜💜
There’s a special place in heaven for all the SAL patterns that were bought with passion and commitment and the abandoned for other charts. I believe we all have them. Enjoyed! Do more!
Fun to see what others select to start on! And so many people seem to have started this craft in a whole different era when we were children and now are picking it back up- so much has changed with cross stitch I am also amazed! Thanks for sharing!! 🐝
We had two swarms of bees move into the eaves of our house and our beekeepers came out yesterday to move them out of the house and both sets left within the last 24 hours. We were elated but surprised. I’m glad yours is doing well! Congrats on stitching so well on linen!!!!
Hello from Canada! Well done on your first floss tube I thoroughly enjoyed it! Love all your projects I'm a fairly new stitcher and I love being enabled!! 😂🐝
I discovered your FlossTube this morning when I saw an oh-my-goodness-a-WIP-parade-FIRST-video suggestion in my feed. I am only half through but have to focus on getting to work (I’m a rural mail carrier and the road is calling) but I will be back. If only to see if you make it to picking up your husband on time … great hook 😎. But, two things, I just started a small (AKA not Long Dog) monochromatic because I was sorting floss and came upon a heavily variegated Weeks I bought for the name, Mermaid. Had to use it for lots of reasons so pulled out a new start. Now I want to stitch ALL the heavy variegations. Also, my graduate thesis was “Beekeeping in Yemen as Economic Development” because I was, and still am, convinced beekeepers can save the world. See you after work!
Great first Flosstube! Your nerves hardly showed. Really enjoyed seeing all of your stitching and hearing about your beekeeping. The nice thing about stitching is that there are no stitching police and no deadlines. I was quite shocked when you said you had children in their 20's! You look as though you are in your 20's yourself! Subscribed and looking forward to the next one!🐝
Great video, I just found you today ! I agree I was a big reader and then discovered cross stitch ! Whoa I was hooked also in 2020 with Covid shut downs ! Now I use my library for books and spend my money on cross stitch stuff !😂 look forward to your next videos !
🐝 Happy first flosstube.....so glad you decided to take the plunge, was a great WIP parade, so many great projects and absolutely love your book collection as well. I'm absolutely in on Thea Thursday, just need to choose a kit and get it ordered lol Happy Stitching -Kimberly
Thank you for stepping forward and bringing your energy to FlossTube, Rebecca. A hoot to watch you warm up to your pace and level of comfort by the video's end... The needle minder on your first project shown spoke volumes. You're obviously a well-read (*pun fully intended*) crafter, and on the flip-side... books are anyone's best accessory. Appreciated the fresh breath of air via patterns and fabric materials (hemp). On that subject as well, thank you for stewarding the planet's food chain; no explanation required. Will be a trip to follow along~~ from the Midwest, US.🌼🌿
I love that you stitch everything! I'm all over the map too when it comes to stitching and its nice to watch a flosstuber with the same mindset. I'm also a reader, but I do audiobooks exclusively now. I stopped reading for a long time because all my hobbies are handwork. I picked up audiobooks and never looked back. I went from reading zero books a month to 7-8 audiobooks a month. Now I'm starting to collect shelf trophies for my favorite audiobooks. lol
Loving your video! I agree that a few years ago there was no variety in patterns and I found floss tubes and have proceeded to fall down the rabbit hole and I have now 2 hobbies of collecting kits and cross-stitching!
🐝 Great first video! I like seeing all the different projects. I'm totally with you on the listening to audio books. I can't do it and do something else at the same time. I'm thinking about listening to the HP series while I stitch on my Frogwarts though, to see if I can do that and motivate myself to work on that project...
Thank you for sharing your beautiful projects with us! Between your WIP Parade, your bookshelves and you somehow even own a serger (!) - you are amazing! Looking forward to your updates. Welcome.
I think you did an amazing job on your first floss tube! Loved seeing all your WIPS and can I just say WOW on your bookshelf! It’s amazing and very fun to look at! Can’t wait until flosstube #2! I subscribed right away!
Really enjoyed spending time with you today and seeing all your fun wips. Congratulations on your first flosstube - looking forward to seeing you next time.
I really enjoyed your first video ! You have a wonderful assortment of projects that I'm anxious to see as you progress . I'll be watching for your second video .
Enjoyed your video! You did great! I just wanted to mention - I've used lots of the Valdani - I'm a 2 strand stitcher - but found you sort of have to figure where to cut it off so that the 3rd strand variagtion matches the 3rd strand of the next pull-off. I'm new back to cross stitch after 25+ years.... boy is it different! I am set to do a chart that says 'Buying cross-stitch as if I'm immortal'. I watch Nicola - Simply a Stitcher - she has amazing ways to start, then stitch and likes to match up the which way with the piece.... great good joy to you!
Welcome to flosstube! I enjoyed seeing your WIP parade. I too thought I wasn't going to like or be drawn to Mirabilia's, but I absolutely love them. Which Steven King book is your favourite? Mine is Under the Dome.
Hi Beck. What a great first video! You really relaxed into it as you went along. You're my kind of stitcher - wywwyw, lots of genres and keeping lots of records takes up too much stitching time! I write the fabric details on the edge of my piece of fabric, so I'll always know what it is. Thank you for taking the plunge. I've subscribed. 😊🐝 Suggestion for your problematic Mirabilia: Deb Wilson flosstuber uses a lot of Silks4U and told me she uses their white now instead of DMC. I'm planning to try that next time.
Hi. Just found your floss tube. You did a fantastic job. I love all your wips. I have the witch goddess pattern too. I love her. Haven't started it yet.
Hi Beck. I enjoyed the variety of styles you stitch, it made for a very entertaining flosstube. I can relate to thinking about not being able to finish everything, but then I decide I don't care. I love the variety and I have focus pieces I work on daily to get finishes. Loved the Rosewood Manor Summer Quaker. That is the only one I don't have as a WIP. I most recently started Spring Quakers and did my own conversion using CCW Belle Soie silks. Looking forward to watching your next video soon!
Hello. Thanks for sharing your projects with the community. On the topic of how many stitches versus how much time one has remaining, there is a channel called the SABLE stitchers. Roberta and Linnie named their channel after that exact sentiment. It stands for stash acquired beyond life expectancy. I think most stitchers live with at least a bit of that in the back of our minds. It’s not morbid, just a factual part of a slow craft or hobby. Anyway, it was nice to “meet” you.
Yes! SABLE is a goal - that way I'll never run out of projects! 😂 Lucy Beam also has a great pattern on this theme - Buying Cross Stitch Like I'm Immortal.
Hi Beck. I have so many projects in common with you. So excited you have joined the Flosstube community. Doing pollinators with LaLaDee too and all over everything with a bee in it! Looking forward to your next update.
"Halloween is a lifestyle, not a holiday" 😂 Can we get that on a shirt??? Subscribed! You also had me at, 'If not ironing things is going to bother you, there a lots of other cross stitch videos on youtube you can watch' lol Love it!
I love that you like to stitch so many different types of designs! Can't wait to watch your 2nd flosstube (going to do that now - I'm already behind)😀🐝
Loved your Golden Girls needle minder! As one of my wips is the golden girls that my daughter bought me because when her Dad worked nights we would watch it on late night on Nickelodeon till we went to bed. And when I started up again cross stitch she had to buy it for me almost done with it. I subscribed to your channel keep up the TH-cam’s see you on the next one!🎉BMOG
What is it about accountants and tax preparers that love to craft? I too am an accountant and love the creativity of quilting and stitching (and the math of it too)! Congrats on taking the plunge. Maybe I’ll finally pull the trigger on a floss/quilt-tube channel too!
Back when I got into cross stitch - it was JoAnn’s, Michaels, and small shops (that are all closed now) and the magazines like Stoney Creek and catalogs like Herschner’s that you could order from. I learned counted cross stitch from the instructions in the kit package. Then there was the library for books on how to do things and the good old Reader’s Digest encyclopedias - one of which was all things needlework. Things have changed.a lot. When I started really getting into it - it was blended threads, partial stitches and lots of back stitching. Teresa Wentzler, Lavender and Lace, Just Nan, etc.
I really enjoyed your video. I can't wait for the next one. I also fell away from stitching for a few years because I could never find anything I liked in the stores. Then I found flosstube, and my stitchy world opened back up. I went from 1 wip to 13 plus another 50 waiting to be started. I've slowly started sharing my progress on Instagram, but haven't built up the courage to try flosstube yet. I too am restitching stockings for my family. I have 1 finished, 1 in progress and 2 more to start.
🐝 Welcome to flosstube! Nice first video and great WIP parade! I was destracted by your background, love it! We have a lot in common, Stephen King book lover, Alice in Wonderland and also several WIP's so I will definitely be back to see updates on your WIP's. Joanita 🌷
Great job on your first Flosstube! 🐝 it was wonderful! And can we just take a minute for that wall of books 😍 looking forward to seeing more videos in the future!
Your FlossTube #3 popped up so thought I would start with #1. Great first video I really enjoyed seeing what you are working on. I am working on some of the same patterns. I am also doing The Deadly Aquarium, I am behind on the frame but i am catching up with the first 3 parts. Working on finishing the frame as I go. I also have the Enchanted Greenhouse with a very small start and the Haunted Library. I bought both of these after the SAL. Now on to FlossTube 2 & 3.
I immediately fell in love with your flosstube. Everything you showed I either already have in my WIP pile or immediately added to my wish list/cart. I am so excited to see more of your videos!!!
🐝 It's great to see the variety of what you're working on, I love to have different choices for different moods I have very eclectic taste. Also a reader and a huge Horror/fantasy reader and Stephen King fan! I loved seeing all your great books in the background! Look forward to seeing your progress x
Very nice video and love your projects. I saw A few of yours that I will be adding to my wips. The patterns and fabrics today are so dynamic it is impossible for me to resist.
Nice start to your channel. I also hope there are more in the future. The odd counts you refered to are literally odd counts. I just learned the mystery of the numbers from the wonderful lady on Needle bug. She does a fabulous job explaining it.
Just now catching your first Flosstube and it's great! First, we have similar taste. I just finished Tiny Modernist Nutcracker Tree (a gift) and just received Cottage Garden Samplings "The Fox" (also to be a gift). I just enjoyed not seeing a full Flosstube of reproduction samplers. I like them but I'll never stitch one -- well I don't think I will. I'm going to enjoy catching up on all of your releases! And p.s. That bookshelf! Wowza! I hope you read Louise Penny. I'm in love with Gamache.. Anyway, keep it up!
I am 5 minutes into your flosstube and had to subscribe. Anyone who has 3 shelves of Stephen King books and loud dogs is my kinda gal. Okay now I’ll settle down and watch the stitching 🤣
“Halloween is a lifestyle, not a holiday.” Literally! 👻 Loved your WIP parade!
I can’t decide which is better: your wide range of wip materials, or your bookshelves!! ❤❤❤
Yes! Please do a slow pan on those shelves. I am a sister bibliophile.
❤🧵🪡❎️☑️📚
Haha my son came into the room and he and I were trying to read your titles
🐝🐝🐝 I enjoyed watching your first Flosstube. So many varied projects. Keep on doing them.
Have you read all the books we can see behind you?? This is a wonderful back drop!!! 💕
Welcome to the flosstube community!!

You’ve got three kids in their early 20’s? Are you kidding? You only look 26 yourself! Fab video, greetings from the U.K. 👍🤗🇬🇧
You are too sweet! 😊
I had the same thought!
I was shocked to hear that, too! I've got one 20-year-old and I look 65!! Haha!
Awesome first FlossTube! Great WIPS… As a funny side I started a list of books to read from your shelf behind you. Looking forward to future shows.
I love that! Let me know what you choose to read first!

I’m so happy to see younger stitchers picking up this craft! It would have been lost in the coming decades otherwise.

Congratulations on your first Flosstube. I love the diversity of your projects. Looking forward to your next episode.
🐝 I loved everything about this, so relatable.. especially the lack of options back in the day, now we have endless choices 😊
Thank you so much for watching! Every day I’m discovering new fun designs! It’s dangerous 💸
🐝 Loved it! Now off to binge watch the next episodes!
Awww thank you!!

Welcome to flosstube! I enjoyed seeing your WIP parade.
I too thought I wasn't going to like or be drawn to Mirabilia's, but I absolutely love them.
Which Steven King book is your favourite? Mine is Under the Dome.
Congrats on a fun first flosstube! You did great! I loved all your eclectic projects and look forward to more to come. 🐝
Suggestion for your problematic Mirabilia: Deb Wilson flosstuber uses a lot of Silks4U and told me she uses their white now instead of DMC. I'm planning to try that next time.
That’s a great idea! I’m going to see if I can order some white silk today!
Awesome flosstube!🐝
Hi. Just found your floss tube. You did a fantastic job. I love all your wips. I have the witch goddess pattern too. I love her. Haven't started it yet.
I really enjoyed your floss tube. I started cross stitching in 1983. I'm still stitching on Aida. I would love to learn how to stitch on linen.
Oh I love the house crosstitch and the idea of stiching when you read the books.
You did great! Thanks for sharing your stitching and putting yourself out there. I admire all you flosstubers for doing this. Loved all your projects.
Great first video! Nice mix of projects. Looking forward to your next Flosstube 🐝
The books, the stitches, all the good stuff. Welcome! And thank you!

What is it about accountants and tax preparers that love to craft? I too am an accountant and love the creativity of quilting and stitching (and the math of it too)! Congrats on taking the plunge. Maybe I’ll finally pull the trigger on a floss/quilt-tube channel too!
Me too!! 😂 🤓 🧮 📠
Back when I got into cross stitch - it was JoAnn’s, Michaels, and small shops (that are all closed now) and the magazines like Stoney Creek and catalogs like Herschner’s that you could order from. I very much enjoyed your first flosstube. I see that your reading and stitching are very eclectic. 🐝🌺

Thank you for watching! At least we have a break next week to catch up a bit on Deadly Aquarium 😊
I immediately fell in love with your flosstube. Everything you showed I either already have in my WIP pile or immediately added to my wish list/cart. I am so excited to see more of your videos!!!
Thank you for watching! 😊
Very fun, love your variety of WIPs. I too am an eclectic stitching, book-loving, Halloween person!
Great floss tube! Looking forward to the next one. You have great patterns.😊
happy to be here!!!
Wow great job on the floss tube. Welcome to flosstube club. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for watching! And of course I’m doing Sampler September so I hope my next update isn’t a total snooze for you! 😂
Great video. Enjoyed seeing your stitching projects. Pretty project bags. Looking forward to more videos.😊 🐝
Congratulations 👏 on your first FlossTube 🎉🎉❤
I really enjoyed your floss tube. I live just north of Seattle and I’m stitching the Yule Godess, too! I love the books in the background.
