Hello new friends! I am overwhelmed by the response from the stitching community for my first Flosstube. Means a lot to me. I have two important points to make about my "no apologies" segment. ONE: to every Flosstuber who ever put themselves out there, entered the arena, shared their knowledge and passion, I say bravo, and thank you. TWO: Women have, for too many centuries, been conditioned or required to apologize for things, sometimes even their very existence, which are not offenses. So when I see a sister being "sorry" for things that need no apology, I get a little ... worked up. I mean to encourage, set free, liberate, not criticize. Love and best wishes, Heidi.
I hit the subscribed button shortly after starting this flosstube. I love your attitude, your humor, and your projects. I especially like your " no apologies" policy. Everytime I look for fabric at my LNS and mention that I am an Aida stitcher, I am told " that's ok", or "there's nothing wrong with that" like I am apologizing for it. I'm not, I am merely giving them information so they can help me find fabric. Maybe I will actually tell them that, in a nice way, next time. 😊 Happy stitching!
YOU ARE FABULOUS! I’m so glad that Jackie from Comfort Stitching mentioned your channel. I so enjoy your sense of humour and how you just throw things and the everyday life stuff. Oh man I loved it. On to your next video!
I absolutely love your video! 💜💜 Finally! Someone unapologetic. Don’t change! And the bell to look up is sheer genius. I hope you make lots more videos
How could I not love a floss tube by someone called Heidi? Especially someone who doesn’t apologise. I’m just a little older than you and if we haven’t learnt by now that what you see is what you get then ,when will we. Bravo Heidi, I’m off to watch #2. I found you from the mention by Jackie of Comfort Stitching. She summed up your approach so well. Thank you best wishes from New Zealand.
Your mockery of what others do in the videos had me laughing all the way through. Your humour was so refreshing. You will set a new standard for the rest of us to be judged by with your attitude and stitching experiments. Please keep it up.😊
Love love love love love love your flosstube!!! Especially the part about floss tubers apologizing for their WIPs being works in progress. I found your flosstube to be funny, fascinating, and helpful as a new stitcher. Can't wait to see more!
Hello, Heidi! What an absolute pleasure to meet you today! You had me laughing so much about not apologizing for, well, basically EVERYTHING 🤣, that I had to stop the video and tell you how much I was enjoying it! Now, back to watching! 👍🩷 Meline
Hello, again! I’m adding to my earlier comment, to say that I very much enjoyed seeing all your projects, I absolutely love that you are so genuine, and finally, how beautiful to hear about your happy relationship with your husband! 💙 I do hope we get to meet him one day. ☺️ Till next time, God bless! Meline
I love your flosstube so much! You are so genuine and fun, like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for a lovely visit. I think I'll go back and watch it again, and I hope to see you soon.❤
I was skeptical of your bell - but now I realize everyone needs it! I find myself backing up videos to look at something 😂. Thanks for not apologizing, that drives me crazy. Someone else who tried quilling in the day! How about macrame and tatting! I’ve tried it all. Good luck with your Flosstube.
I truly enjoyed your droll sense of humor! Mother was a Speech and English teacher, who insisted her students should "never apologize in their speeches". Keep up the good work!
Yes…no apologies needed. I am careful in my flosstubes to also not list exactly where stitches have been slightly rearranged. I hope you enjoy presenting as much as I do. Well done. 🦉🌾❤️
I love me a good flosstube any day but I'mma be honest it's been a while since I've had so much fun watching one! Thank you for for this! Looking forward to more!
❤ Well aren’t you WONDERFUL! Wish you lived next door. It’s 230am here and spending my first cup of coffee with you was divine. I’ll patiently await our next visit.
I almost fell out of my chair when I saw your Ruscilla Geranium pattern. I stitched that very same pattern in 2020 and finished it into a beautiful pillow. Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitchy talents!
Hi Heidi really enjoyed your video. It was enjoyable listening to you talk about things I grew up with and did. I still have some of the printed quilt blocks that I got back before color tv was a thing😅 since I retired I’ve started working on them😊God bless you and yours 😊
Heidi, thank you from across the pond, what a breath of fresh air you are. My budget is like yours but I am fortunate enough to have inherited Aida and linen from my mother’s stash. She did Hardanger and Pulled Thread as well as spinning and Bobbin Lace. My mother loved Kaffe Fassett and knitted a jumper with her own dyed spun wool. Thank you for a fabulous Flosstube, I hope to enjoy many more. 👏👏👏👏👏
I’m stitching fruits of plenty in 18 count Aida using Dmc 939 and 3835. I add one or two threads a day. Slow progress but progress. I love stitching it. Enjoyed your flosstube!
I love that you ufo something when you have learn what you wanted. I feel a need to complete even when I do not enjoy it. I am trying to learn to let go. There have not been many that have shown the Fox and Rabbit 2024 SAL. It has been fun. My colors are random floss leftovers.
To learn to let go... go to your mirror every morning and say "I feel a need to complete even when I do not enjoy it". You will quickly develop a new feeling. LOL and XOXO.
Finally...someone who shares my philosophy for stitching. We are about the same age and have been crafting for about the same number of years. I really enjoyed watching and can't wait for the next one.
Great FT video!! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am amazed at your choice for your first cross stitch, from Long Dog.. beautiful ! All your stitching is fabulous❤❤
Hi Heidi I had such a wonderful time getting to know you a little bit today. I love how you are trying lots of different things out and learning what you like to stitch. I am looking forward to catching up with you and your progress in your next flosstube. Best wishes
loving your flosstube #1. we seems to enjoy the same needleart. enjoy going down the Rabbit Hole and see what you are up to. Great starts, finishes, and works in progress
OMG - I just don’t know what to say. I’ve spent one of the best hours ever watching Flosstube. You made me smile and at the end my eyes were just a little moist after the heartfelt ending to your video. Yes, I did the math to figure out your age because and I just knew we would probably have been in high school together - and I was right. I feel like I’ve made a “virtual” friend and look forward to your next video. Hopefully you decide to put them out on a regular basis. Until then……
It's a good day when I make someone cry a little. 😉 Such kind words, I'm very grateful. Happy to spend some time with you Suzanne. graduated in 1974, best music and blue jeans ever, am I right?
@@StitchingDowntheRabbitHole Class of 1976. Agreed about the music (-now referred to as classic rock) and I wear wide leg jeans, which is the closest I can find to bell bottoms.
Loved your first flosstube! I also refuse to apologize on my videos, and I certainly don't iron. I also learned embroidery/needlework as a child before learning cross stitch. I look forward to watching your progress!
Wow. Long dog for your first one. Great job. My first one a few years ago was a full coverage. I’m also down the rabbit hole too. Looking forward to your continuing saga. No need to apologize for anything….
The first needlework I ever did as a youngster was crewel (did not know the difference between embroidery and crewel until you said wool) thank you for giving me understanding in the difference. Granted I never looked into it because I now cross stitch, but was always a puzzle to me. I also live in Michigan (Northern Central). I also grew up doing macrame, needlepoint, crochet and sewing. Needless to say I always butted heads with my mom and I never seemed to finish many projects. My mom taught all the neighbor ladies and all my friends how to sew, knit and crochet but I was a knucklehead in my youth and resisted learning more than the basics. I wish my mom was still with me to teach me all the things I tended to resist. I know when I started to cross stitch my mom never said anything (in her wisdom, I'm sure) but I am sure she was jumping up and down! I did not know she cross stitched also, until she passed away and I was going thru her many things. I now have her cross stitch, needlepoint and my crewel project that I started and she finished hanging on my walls ( my most prized possessions!) Hind sight is 20/20
A great first ft, welcome to the very deep rabbit hole that we stitchers live in! I have that Kaffe Fassett book, but had not noticed the jars. Yours will be beautiful on that blue fabric.
I’m only five minutes in and I love it! I love your floss though I really like you! I subscribed already and now I will watch the rest of your floss tube!❤❤❤ love the needlepoint! I had done that decades ago..gave away my finishes…nuts!.. And you have a cabin up North Wisconsin! I'm so jealous. We've been married 50 years and for 50 years I've been asking to rent a cabin up North Wisconsin for a week or 2.... But now the prices are ridiculous! I'm originally from the Milwaukee area.
Going Up North is very relaxing... provided my husband does all the wood chopping, generator fueling and water pumping. LOL. I sit by the window and stitch. Does the guy like to fish? You might be able to persuade him if you take that angle. Get it? angle? angler? oh dear.
You are so funny! Thank you for making a video and being yourself. You are fantastic and so entertaining. I feel like you have said what we all are thinking 🙌🏼
I'm Leslie, live in central California, obsessed on many hand crafts, now my first love is x-st, I wish we were neighbors. I enjoyed your first step into the water!
I've been sitting on the Fruits of Plenty piece for a couple of years now as I can't pick a colour! Adding your colours to my "possibilities" list 😅 I love the little "bing" you do to let me know to look up from my stitching! 😍
Hi Heidi!! Might I say what a breathe of drag air you are!! Your like my favorite teacher in HS who taught all the while thoroughly entertaining me! Thank you for the laughter, the snippets of education it was my absolutely joy to watch! I can’t wait to watch your next video heck truth be tolI could listen to you forever! Keep them coming! Big hugs & blessings. ❤ - Christine
I was absolutely thrilled when I heard you list the things that you will not be apologizing for!!! I will often not watch or subscribe to a YT channel because they continuously apologize for so many things that are ridiculous!! I totally love your perspective, and I also love Longdog projects along with many others. I also love William Morris and I use his fabric designs in my quilts I make. I have an antique chair that I plan to have recovered in one of his fabrics. I loved your video and look forward to future ones as well. Thank you so much!
I have been searching for needlepoint flosstubes as well. Hopefully in the future I will join you by recording a flosstube of my own that will include cross stitch, needlepoint, knitting and quilting. Your projects are beautiful! Make them out of pillows so that you can enjoy the fruit of your labor. Take care!!!
Hello from Tennessee!! Today I had my coffee and stitched and met a new friend that seems very much like me. 😊😊😊. What a wonderful video! A complete joy! Thank you so very much and I'm looking forward to more mornings of seeing your artwork. 🩵💙🩵
Omg I LOVE your “I’m sorry”s! I frequently tell the flosstubes I’m watching to not say sorry! Thank you for sharing your stitchy goodness- never apologize for doing so! And I love the bell😊 Great 1st Flosstube & hoping for many more with the same amazing dose of sarcasm
That was entertaining. Loved the toss the project over on the floor. Lol. You have beautiful pieces. I also dabble in Quilling quilting and some embroidery. I subscribed. Looking forward to your next video.
I’m only five minutes in and I love it! I love your floss though I really like you! I subscribed already and now I will watch the rest of your floss tube!❤❤❤
Hi Heidi from Michigan. I'm Kathy from Ohio - also retired, also a few miles from a Great Lake (Erie), also don't care to plan my projects, also LOVE that you didn't apologize for one thing and also kind of a newer cross stitcher. My mom cross stitched all the time but it didn't catch my attention. Too busy working, raising a daughter, etc. But I learned that stitching off an iPad was a game changer a few years ago. And I'm learning that my tastes are changing the more I stitch. At first it was all smalls. Then I got tired of finishing smalls and now do lots of bigger projects just so I don't have to finish things as often. Loved seeing what you're working on and your sense of humor. So funny! See ya next time.
My trouble with smalls is... what would I DO with them. LOL. I have a few pieces on the Ipad, and it certainly can be useful. Still love a highlighter and paper tho, I'm so.... old.... school. haha.
Hi! I happened to find your first floss tube and knew IMMEDIATELY that the Rabbit Hole (Down, Up, Diagonal, or Doing the Foxtrot) is a GOOD place to be!!!! When you held up one of Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum's patterns, I was absolutely SURE it'a good place to be...When, as an adult, I returned to stitching, I accidentally stumbled across Marilyn's patterns, most specifically Lavender and Lace, but I have patterns from Told in a Garden and Butternut Road (her third .line of patterns) as well. And, for quite a long time, those were the only patterns I worked on. I collected her patterns from all three lines and still have them. Marilyn passed away a number of years ago, but her patterns will be in print for the foreseeable future, per her wishes. Also, Marilyn's daughter is Nora Corbett. She has two lines, Mirabilia and Nora Corbett. They are both beeyootiful.!!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed your video! I’m another primarily DMC and Aida, and unapologetic for how I do things, kind of stitcher. I also stitch what I want and when I want, switching things up as I feel like it. This is supposed to be fun and relaxing, after all. So keep the videos coming, you’re doing great! Welcome from your neighbor in Indiana.
Wow. You provided more information in this video than I have ever seen on a flosstube Former needlepointer now mostly crossstitch look forward to your videos thank you
How delightful your stitching style is! I too love all things stitching and do hand sewing and embroidery, cross stitch, needle point and I am even learning crewel embroidery now! So fun to see all of your thrifted wool! That is how I get most of my wool for stitching is by going to the thrift stores!! So fun. Looking forward to seeing what else you have in store for us!
Hello Heidi ( It is a German name ) I am from Denmark and I just love your flosstube right down my ally with your ironi, I am also what you call a multicrafter I see something like how it looks have to try it out. but most my time goes with cross stitch and knitting at the moment. It’s amazing to see your progress when I’m still on page 2. Lovely! You are such a joy to watch. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Greetings Heidi, love your videos. thank you for sharing. looking forward to many more. I also am a aida stitcher. Recently started 18 count Fiber on a Whim cloth 18 count using 1 strand . The coverage on this fabric is great. Anyway I'm so glad you are on flosstube.
Love this video! Love the no apologies. I never understood them. As stitchers we all see wrinkles and threads hanging. And I listen through my hearing aids, and the zippers never bother me. Lol. I understand that some people have sensory issues, I do. But I love the no apologies policy. We apologize for enough things in our life, we shouldn't have to apologize for our hobbies.
Love love love what a treat finding you. Helloooo from Adelaide South Australia I’m Debra and hope that there are more videos to come as I so enjoyed this one 🎉

Going Up North is very relaxing... provided my husband does all the wood chopping, generator fueling and water pumping. LOL. I sit by the window and stitch. Does the guy like to fish? You might be able to persuade him if you take that angle. Get it? angle? angler? oh dear.
So so good! I laughed a out loud at least three times. You are funny, well spoken and already one of my favorites! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Happy to be your friend 🥰 You are so relaxed and love your sense of humor 💖 And your crafts too ❣
Hello Mia from Finland! Thank you and I'm just now checking out your channel.
You are so funny! Thank you for making a video and being yourself. You are fantastic and so entertaining. I feel like you have said what we all are thinking 🙌🏼
I love giving permission LOL. Thanks so much for watching. I enjoy your channel very much.
I'm Leslie, live in central California, obsessed on many hand crafts, now my first love is x-st, I wish we were neighbors. I enjoyed your first step into the water!
I wish we were all neighbors!
I've been sitting on the Fruits of Plenty piece for a couple of years now as I can't pick a colour! Adding your colours to my "possibilities" list 😅
I love the little "bing" you do to let me know to look up from my stitching! 😍
Yes , do that Darlene! we want to see! xoxo
Hello from Tennessee!! Today I had my coffee and stitched and met a new friend that seems very much like me. 😊😊😊. What a wonderful video! A complete joy! Thank you so very much and I'm looking forward to more mornings of seeing your artwork. 🩵💙🩵
New friends are great, right? Thank you! see you soon
😬 Sarcasm? Was I sarcastic? ....🤣
@@StitchingDowntheRabbitHole No ! Never! 😏😆😂
Thanks for making the foray into flosstube. You are very refreshing! I'm an aida and DMC girl, too!
That was entertaining. Loved the toss the project over on the floor. Lol. You have beautiful pieces. I also dabble in Quilling quilting and some embroidery. I subscribed. Looking forward to your next video.
You have a really nice channel. Im here for the long haul too🌺🌸🌺❤️
I’m only five minutes in and I love it! I love your floss though I really like you! I subscribed already and now I will watch the rest of your floss tube!❤❤❤
You're very kind!
They are both beeyootiful.!!!!
what a talented family, right? so many devoted followers. Thanks for watching Gayle!
Wow. You provided more information in this video than I have ever seen on a flosstube Former needlepointer now mostly crossstitch look forward to your videos thank you
I had to back and watch to see if I could learn anything.😉. I'm so grateful you checked out my video. Hope to see you soon!
Wonderful first video. I agree with your no apology list. 😉
Oh my Heidi I love your presentation and sense of humor. I am a Michigander too, a bit east of you. Looking forward to your next video.
Now I have to guess if a "little bit" is Nunica, GR or Lansing LOL. xoxo. thanks for watching
Hello Heidi ( It is a German name ) I am from Denmark and I just love your flosstube right down my ally with your ironi, I am also what you call a multicrafter I see something like how it looks have to try it out. but most my time goes with cross stitch and knitting at the moment. Hope you make another one soon I just needed the laugh with your zipper and dings. back to watching
Yes, the dimunitive of Adelheid, to which I tried to change my name at age 7 but no one would cooperate. Peeked at your channel, had to say my husband has been playing some ancient version of Final Fantasy off and on for ... 20 years? lol.
@@StitchingDowntheRabbitHole I do stream games on twitch and at the moment I stream something called No man sky. Have to be doing stuff all the time since I live all alone
Great video! I too have been X-stitching floral designs from needlepoint design books for a few yrs now! Can't wait to see you again soon.
Thank you! You too!
I subscribed immediately when you got to your list of things you wouldn’t apologize for. 💕💕 you’re the first person I’ve seen on flosstube working on Ragnarok, and I’m SO excited because I’m working on it too!!! It’s amazing to see your progress when I’m still on page 2. Lovely! You are such a joy to watch. Thank you so much for sharing!!
I loved your first video and will be looking forward to seeing the next one!❤
More to come!
Love your attitude!
Love love love what a treat finding you. Helloooo from Adelaide South Australia I’m Debra and hope that there are more videos to come as I so enjoyed this one 🎉
Hellooooo! it's always tomorrow in Australia, right? So happy you found me Debra. xoxo
Im doing the Hands Across the Sea stitch along. So excited!
That will be awesome!
