So what happened getting that bolt to come through enough for the nut? was it just getting it to seat? Did you need to let it have time to compress the new bushing enough? Really wanna know what happened between seeing the top bolt not all the way though then the cut to job done. Thing is, I start on this on Sunday and would love to know any potential pitfalls to avoid or challenges to expect and how to overcome them. Otherwise super helpful to know the access routes to the bolts and that you don't need to fuss with the AC or anything crazy. Thanks!
There’s a little lip on the stud that was hanging so I just jacked it back up and put the stud in all the way through first and then lowered the mount onto the frame!
I'm about to do both sides. I can't even figure out how to jack up the passenger side so I can set a jack stand under the pinch weld. I've already done the driver's side. There's enough room to get the jack and stand side by side but on the passenger side there's some kind of plastic thing in the way. I think it's a wiring harness or somethin. There's no room. What are my options? The control arm? I'm also not sure where to jack up the motor for the passenger side engine mount either.
The control arm should be fine! And as far as the passenger side motor mount if you’re doing both you can try jacking it up from the crank pulley but like I said in the video use caution. I’ve seen a couple videos where they do that and it’s fine.
@@ZPTVChannel I ended up using 2 floor jacks with 2x4s. One on the crank and another on the alternator. I got them both snug and then pulled each jack handle a few inches at a time. 😂 Was nice having the extra support. Really wasn't feeling like getting a hand crushed tonight.
Have you replaced your starter yet? Doing it today. Haynes says you can go through the wheel well and move a support bracket but youtube showed a guy take out the motor mount and its bracket. If you did it, what'd you do?
When you did the driver side, did you take out the passenger also or just leave it in? I have the same problem but wondering how you lifted it if you did anything to the other side. Thank you for the video super helpful
I left the passenger side hooked up! You just have to be a little more careful not to over extend it but you can lift it up high enough to get the new one in!
I wish u would have shown driving before and after. But so far everything u fix I have to fix on mine as well lol. Question, do u have problems with water pouring in the rear at a wash? At the wire grommets?
Yea I kinda dropped the ball and didn’t even think about a before and after drive lol. And no surprisingly! That was one of the first things I checked because I know it’s a very common issue but I got lucky and it’s either already been fixed or it just hasn’t happened yet.
nice video.. as i can see you did not remove motor mount bracket, in most videos they are removing it and i dont get why.. if you could replace mount without removing bracket, so there is enough room for it )) i want to replace both mounts and gearbox mount as well on next week and your video gave me a hope not to remove bracket )) thx ;)

I haven’t..
you didn't have to disconnect the exhaust? I've ripped a few exhaust pipes doing this on other cars but I learned lol
I didn’t! Doesn’t really seemed to have bothered it! At least not that I’ve noticed lol
@@ZPTVChannel thanks man, i'm going to tackle this. YOur video makes me comfortable to do it!

Mee too I just got 2012 overland
Question hoss... To jack up the motor, do you need to loosen anything else other than the motor mount you're changing out?
I didn’t!
Same here informative 👍 i have to do both mounts and transmission mount ... clunks like crazy
I’m sure here in the near future the other side and the trans mount will be next lol
front differential isolator bushings likely worn out too
You best do it soon before you have to fix Transfer case or Tranny

Have you tried silicon Dap around the grommet ?
What brand of replacement engine mount did you use, or is it factory OEM?
It wasn’t oem. I bought it on Amazon not sure if the actual brand.
@@ZPTVChannel i think it was product of china :)

My thoughts exactly! Lol and happy to help!
What happened where the bolt up top was too short? Did it just need to drop in place or did the manufacturer make the bolt too short?
There was a lip on the bolt that was hanging. Once I got it past that lip there was plenty of length!
So did it stayed the same high after 2or 3 days?
Yes!
I wish I watched this b4 I did it
