I’m a 35yo IT consultant, and I’m absolutely amazed by the quality of this conversation. I have taken a lot of notes and will try several things based on that. See you the other side :)
You know, sometimes success feels so foreign and far away but hearing the way Keenan is able to so simply break down his processes and explain the core ideas of what he did and why it worked gives me inspiration and makes me think success isn’t as far away as I thought it was.
Watched this from start to finish, I had so many takeaways. Also appreciate that there were no disruptive ads in the middle of it to take the focus away from what you both had to say. More power to both of you!
The first minute of your video was so good man. I know you spend a lot of time getting the editing right, and this one was perfect. Getting the audience stoked for this episode
I'm not even half way this podcast and I've received so much value from this conversation, Kieran is great and really inspirational. Keep up the good work Brett.
This video will probably save me thousands on my first app project I’m working on. “not focusing on features and focus more on outcomes”. Thank you for your knowledge.
This might be one of the best interviews I’ve ever watched. Came up with a 100million dollar idea based off of this and already started working on it. Thank you guys 🙏🏽
@Brett and @Kieran, that was the best two hours of content I've heard in a long time! You two are like marketing and business savants like Mozart and Beethoven were in their day for music. Brett, your podcast/YT vids are #1 in my world and I follow a lot of people. The reason is that you always give such HUGE value, ask all the right questions that I'd want to ask, and the way you conduct the conversations literally gives us a blueprint we can take action on. creating a different source of income in these difficult times is the best thing to do. Not only does it guarantee profits, it also helps you plan and save for future expenses. Super interesting , one tip about VC funding. Spend time with a few VCs only - means know them , meet them whatever - chat with them and be friendly. Those few VC’s can open their network to 100s to 1000s of investors / VCs - you can even negotiate a advisor share - and have a bullet point list of what you expect from the advisor , like fund raising Most VCs I know invest between 20-500k ( crypto related )
Only a few min in, so I'm not sure if he mentioned this but relying on APIs for your business can be very risky. You're basically relying on the companies good will to keep the API available, but once they start charging a shit ton of money like Reddit did, product like Apollo, Relay, etc go down the drain. I'm assuming he talks about this later on lol but that's why if you're planning on implementing LLMs open source is the way to go😤
Word of advice: Focus on building an audience and mailing list. I'm a Software Engineer (C.S. grad with work experience) and I coded a web app, mobile app, and API. I launched it without an audience which was a mistake. I'm continuing to work hard to building an audience, do paid ads, and code more features. This is a great TH-cam channel by the way, I'm glad I found it.

Absolutely great podcast guys, Kieran’s experience is so valuable. Raising 1.5m with just clickable prototype in Figma, man I thought these times end in 2015.
this guy is super intelligent. i would only warn about building with productized api's, there are no moat for these products are hard to scale past a couple 7 figs. and 10-15x multiples are not that realistic the average is 5x for b2b saas.
Some productive criticism. You ask good questions have a kind presence on camera. Please stop interrupting and adding extra noise. He is the content please let him share his advise uninterrupted.
How was he meant to get the conversation flowing then? People just find problem in everything. So annoying. Brett is a great interviewer and this is coming from a seasoned UX Researcher who has done several interviews with users and stakeholders in private and public (Gov.UK) organisations.

An 'API' is "Application Programming Interface" *ANALOGY FOR NON-SOFTWARE ENGINEERS* 1) you visit a restaurant and sit at a table 2) a waitress appears because you cannot go into the kitchen and grab food 3) the waitress takes your order and walks to the kitchen and hands the order to the cooking staff 4) you make a run for the kitchen - the waitress grabs you and says "you have to tell ME what you want and I will GET it for you - this is an organized process and we do not give anyone direct access to the food in the kitchen, you have to GO THROUGH ME to get what you want" 5) the cook makes the food 6) the waitress goes to the kitchen, picks up the food, and carries it to you at your table 7) *_the waitress's name is 'API' for short_* 8) "everyone calls me 'the programming interface that our customers have to use to get food - but my nickname is API* 9) your name is "Programmer of an Application that needs stuff that I don't have direct access to, I have to use this API" .

Absolutely great podcast guys, Kieran’s experience is so valuable. Raising 1.5m with just clickable prototype in Figma, man I thought these times end in 2015.
Dude you are a killer !
Best content\PODCAST in the internet!
Of course...
This interview was fascinating. I sincerely hope it's digested and executed for good success.
Thanks for all that you do!

Incredible podcast, thank you both!
this guy is super intelligent. i would only warn about building with productized api's, there are no moat for these products are hard to scale past a couple 7 figs. and 10-15x multiples are not that realistic the average is 5x for b2b saas.
Really enjoying the long form podcasts, keep it up
Some productive criticism. You ask good questions have a kind presence on camera. Please stop interrupting and adding extra noise. He is the content please let him share his advise uninterrupted.
How was he meant to get the conversation flowing then? People just find problem in everything. So annoying. Brett is a great interviewer and this is coming from a seasoned UX Researcher who has done several interviews with users and stakeholders in private and public (Gov.UK) organisations.
the value of this podcast is crazy🔥
This is my first time of hearing about sas, and I'm gonna try it out.
BRETT MAN! This is such great information!!!
This was an awesome interview. Can relate to burning a lot of $ on development/engineers without much to show for it.
Incredible podcast! Thank you for sharing this valuable info!
This video has been incredible motivational for me. Thank you so much ❤❤
I really love the video bro, you are killing it. also, I wish that you asked him about which apps he uses like Notion or Slack or any app that he found useful I bet he knows something I don't know.
I literally misclicked on this video, but I couldn't be happier that I did. Thank you for this top quality content 🙏
Shut up omg 😂 ha I’m sitting here watching thinking and coming up with my own idea here I am in the Landscaping world and have been working over this idea for years and you guys just spelled out the game plan for me like I can’t wait to get home and get on bubble and then you guys literally say “you could start something in Arizona about artificial turf or cutting grass” I have never been spoken to so directly in a podcast than this I appreciate you guys this conversation has been monumental and I will keep you guys updated on my software adventure but you were so close to just spitting my idea on a whim it was funny again thanks guys
Value at:
19:50 where he talks about MVP and Figma is gold!
22:20 talking about customer surveying!
My biggest thought before watching this : The hook involves getting into language model implementation for existing models. Create the market.
Your content is so dope... Best questions drilling towards the best answers they'll let you pull! Love how you bridge between these wild next level go getters and all the slacker wannabes too scared to ever pull the trigger on actually making changes to their life lol Gotta get used to being able to envision a different life and making it happen and not having to stay on the well worn path you may be on at the moment!
This is super easy ❤ good advice but im a 7 years of xp software engineer with strong dicipline .I dont think everyone can do it with out xp
An 'API' is "Application Programming Interface"
*ANALOGY FOR NON-SOFTWARE ENGINEERS*
1) you visit a restaurant and sit at a table
2) a waitress appears because you cannot go into the kitchen and grab food
3) the waitress takes your order and walks to the kitchen and hands the order to the cooking staff
4) you make a run for the kitchen - the waitress grabs you and says "you have to tell ME what you want and I will GET it for you - this is an organized process and we do not give anyone direct access to the food in the kitchen, you have to GO THROUGH ME to get what you want"
5) the cook makes the food
6) the waitress goes to the kitchen, picks up the food, and carries it to you at your table
7) *_the waitress's name is 'API' for short_*
8) "everyone calls me 'the programming interface that our customers have to use to get food - but my nickname is API*
9) your name is "Programmer of an Application that needs stuff that I don't have direct access to, I have to use this API"
.

Brilliant and very inspirational. So much value in this.
