Somewhat funny story I have with this plant. When I saw this many years ago in my garden, I plucked it out and threw them thinking it was a weed. But it used to grow back very religiously. I finally gave up thinking that it looks pretty, so let it be. Now it's growing in several places in my garden every monsoon season. Just recently I got to know its name and it's sold for a reasonable price. Sometimes we have treasures around us which we fail to notice.

Wow that's interesting... It's one of my favourite... The way they keep blooming from the same spot over and over is too good... Also the blooms are so beautiful.

What kind of soil do they like

Nothing special... Just a well draining, compost rich soil.. Just add gravel or coco peat to improve its texture and drainage capacity.

This plant usually drop their leaf after a growing season and lay dormant for few months. Your plant might be going dormant. Just reduce watering and maintain the soil in a semi dry condition until you see signs of new growth. Good luck and happy gardening.
