- BACK TO THEIR OLD STYLE?! Today we are going to do a REACTION to Dreamcatcher(드림캐쳐) 'BONVOYAGE' MV! As a "Songwriter/Producer" I will be breaking down some of the songwriting and production elements of the song so that you'll be able to hear more the next time you listen to it.

Although Ollounder is producing/composing as usual, they have brought in other composers/lyricists/arrangers as well: Maddox, Door, Peperoni & Oliv. I think this has refreshed the DC sound and made this comeback epic!
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break, just like it can be good in a relationship to not be together all the time. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell.
That leads my dark mind to believe that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on the way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are talking to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature.
I can also imagine they are building an ark to take plants and animals to another planet. It would make sense with some of the scenes in the MV.
As you can see, my theory is not perfect. I also do not know why all three titles are in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!

The video production changed quite drastically for the better and it's so soo sooo amazing! And the song! We get yet another side of Dreamcacther's signature sound as you mentioned and I'm all for it. When I saw in the album track list reveal that Leez is not in the prodction team, I was quite worried but turns out I didn't need to. In fact, I really really like the song. Also just like in Deja Vu, they don't force Dami to have rap parts. Instead, we get to hear her sing more and in the seconds verse it's more like a spoken singing than rapping. After hearing the song I understand why some members said this is their favorite title track so far. Thank you for always supporting Dreamcatcher.
Knowing that Leez not on this production makes me concern more about DC sounds. If somehow they loose their heavyness and more into "softer-mainstream sound" oh man...I'm gonna miss them so much! They have their own "heavyness" on their signature sound..and I'm worried if too many producers involved there will be few things changed...sorry for this rumblings..but I just love DC sound soo much! I'm glad that Bon Voyage still having the heavy side of it, ... I hope it continues to be at least this quality or even better in the future..

From what I've read , BonVoyage is a love letter to Mother Nature, and that little white creature that comes out of damis picture is a Seed!

The little seed also represents the Heart of nature. It's also about Letting the earth and nature be itself and letting it go. I've also seen people say that The little white creature represents InSomnia as an 8th member, which I think is a cute way of looking at it :)

It does go with the same theme. In short it is a love letter goodbye to Earth, as they leave but don't want to cuz the Earth is not habitable anymore type idea.

LEEZ is currently under exclusive contract with another company so that's why he was unable to be present on this album. Im pretty sure we gonna see him back once his contact is over!

The thing though is that we don't know how long his contract lasts with that company. Afaik that company plans to debut a group, so it's safe to assume that Leez will be their producer for years, if not for the entirety of that group's career. I know DC renewed their contracts and all, but I think it's unlikely that Leez will return to producing for DC.
maybe somehow when the girls sing the song, they can think "bon voyage" to Leez 🤔
