In this video I react to Bonvoyage by Dreamcatcher and I go into depth on the editing, main ideas and story of the Kpop music video. I explain my thoughts on Bonvoyage by Dreamcatcher and give my overall opinion.

In my opinion dreamcatcher has the best discography in kpop, no doubt. They're kinda underrated because they're from a small Company and beacuse korea doesnt accept girls doing rock music! And dreamcatcher always mixes rock with kpop (the japanese tracks are pure metal)

I agree as well. For me, they have the most interesting and diverse discography of any group I've listened to, be it kpop or anything else. And it's all top notch.

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable!
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. You are absolutely right, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity).
SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace.
There are still many things I don't know. For example, why are all three titles in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal.
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!
I am in love with rock music and horror movies so I'm incredibly excited to react to more of their content. The fanbase seems to consist of the most kindhearted people and I am going to love getting to know all of you guys ❤
The concept of this video is one of the most unique and realistic stories I've seen. As sad as it is we need to acknowledge the actions of humanity so we can better ourselves.

Dreamcatcher’s supporting crew has always been top notch, and now they finally have the budget to really flex visually. It would be interesting to see what you think of the rest of the Apocalypse trilogy (Maison, Vision, and Bon Voyage) since they’re thematically linked, but you’d probably also enjoy Deja Vu because it’s got a whole dramatic plot happening in the video. (Also, it’s a banger.) Their earlier videos were very heavily inspired by horror movies, so check out the Nightmare series if that appeals. 😄

You should check out more Dreamcatcher, they have amazing videos :D The last 2 MVs were a little too CGI focused(in my opinion), but their older videos are more set based.

Yes, this the part 3 about their trilogy Apocalypse (in which they talk about how humans have been acting to the our home Earth, and also how our actions are destroying this world). I think this song might be about love for the Earth nature, baded on the previous parts of the trilogy.
You are spot on with your theory! It's part 3 in a trilogy with MAISON being pt 1 and VISION being pt 2. To me the Apocalypse series is, they're superheroes who have come from another dimension to give humanity a VISION of what will happen to our Earth MAISON if we don't step up save the planet now. They're almost leaving it up to us to make the changes while they return to their own world. This song makes me so emotional 🥹 Our substantive queens talking about issues that really matter! 🙌🙌 I highly encourage a DC deep dive YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! ❤❤❤❤

you're close on the meaning/theme. bon voyage is the final part of their apocalypse trilogy. maison and vision are parts 1 and 2 respectively and show mankind's destructive nature. bon voyage give a more hopeful message that it's not too late and we can still rejuvenate the planet. the visual plot in short is them coming to earth to warn/save us and ends with them(or rather us) being successful, the planet is saved and they can leave so we are bidding them bon voyage. other imagery has nature confined in the building as if to protect it where the outside world is devoid of color and life. it ends with them turning off the force field to signify mission accomplished highlighted by the celebratory fireworks. you can check out the first two parts but they are much more cgi heavy. maison is entirely in cgi because they wanted to cut down on set/production waste.
Personally, I see this as the first event of the 3. They are in an institution and they are trying to break down the barriers. The bon voyage can be the message to each members as they take their own mission alone and even escaping alone.
In the end, they succeed in bringing down the barrier for the institution and escaping.
However, this is only the beginning as they realize the outside world is also corrupted. The Seed of Life or that fluffy creature, I believe, plays a part in Maison as it grants them the ability to ascend back to earth.
Unfortunately, to do so, they have to bring down the barriers that was blocking off earth from the universe. This event occurs in Vision. Despite their successes of breaking down the system, there was a mastermind behind the corruption, which is the goat man in Maison. After the destruction from Vision and they are in heaven or some sort of safe haven, they rally themselves back on earth to finish the final boss.

their MVs and title tracks always have a storyline and was always interconnected Nightmare series, Dystopia Trilogy, and this one the Apocalypse trilogy

They have an entire storyline in their earlier mvs so it could be cool for you to go to the start and react to their storyline (has almost a horror thriller concept which is super cool to see and theorise with!) starting with *Chase Me!*
But as that could take time, you may want to start reacting with their more condensed storyline in 3 mvs that have the theme of 'hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil' (from one of the many theories ive heard):

Another 2 REALLY cool mvs that is are stand alones that were both actually for a game (Kingdom something and another anime game?) is *'Deja Vu'* and *'Rose Blue'*
These three mvs are the ones that really got me into Dreamcatcher so I highly recommend!
You were spot-on with the analysis. Several members of the group said that, overall, it's about the need to be away from something that you love *because* you love it, so that it can grow and flourish. At its base level they said it talks about how just as people will experience love and joy we'll have to experience the feeling of "farewell," and saying goodbye doesn't mean you don't have the same feelings anymore (even if what you're saying goodbye to no longer feels the same). More specifically it was inspired by the rest-year system where they will close off national parks for a time so that there's no human interference and the ecosystem can thrive and heal on its own. We may love Mother Nature, but we're the ones doing harm to it right now. The two songs prior to this were a plea to change our ways to protect the planet, followed by a call to action and a *demand* that people do better and join the fight, and now it's time for us to bid farewell to the world because we need to leave and give it time to recover.
the fact that you can guess the storyline, i hope you can do their previous mv for this storyline... this is triology, there is Maison and Vision~~` can't wait for your reaction~~

I like how you randomly telling about love letter to mother nature when it is yes as part 3 and finale of apocalypse trilogy. part 1 (Maison) are showing that destroyed earth in nature perspective, part 2 (Vision) showing that we human even more destroying the earth with war, then here part 3 (BonVoyage) actually supposed to be happy ending. members themselves said it's a context of BonVoyage as a "have a nice journey" and hope that the person having journey will come back, thus as a love letter for earth that means in the end the earth will be okay again after the destroyed era
Dreamcatcher's title tracks follow a storyline, and this one is a wrap up of the Apocalypse trilogy so it would make much more sense if you watch their last 2 MVs, Maison and Vision. Their MVs, outfit, even the dance movements greatly support the story of each song. For Bon Voyage, the video production changed quite drastically for the better and it's so soo sooo amazing! Each scene is worthy to be captured and kept as a wallpaper. And the song! At least for me, is one of their best songs. Not because it's just been released, but it combines the best parts of some of their previous releases and I'm all for it as we get yet another side of Dreamcacther's signature sound, which is rock-fusion kpop.
I got goosebumps when you can guess it right about the MV's theme cuz only who's watched the previous MVs would guess it right when they first watched it 😅😂

As you might see there are alot of interpretations of this mv, and that honestly is the beauty of Dreamcatcher's MVs. They give enough information to convey a theme but leave space for different theories to be correct!
I myself am on the humanity is doomed because we didn't take action so "Bon Voyage" to humanity train. And Bon Voyage could even have a double meaning here being "Bon Voyage", less sarcastically, to earth, wishing it all the best now that humanity is gone. But that could also be me being a bit pesimistic...
The whole Apocalypse trilogy is about the earh and the influence humanity has on it, I would love to see your reaction to the other 2 songs in the trilogy (Maison and Vision).

I absolutely love how you immediately gauged the meaning of the song. I know nothing about editing/graphics but for the scene where Sua is jumping off the ledge to reach for the dove with things exploding behind her (at the bridge/before the final chorus), she did her own stunt on a high wire jumping off the building on location 😊
Also.. all Dreamcatcher’s MVs are beautiful and their discography is S TIER. Not sure if you want recs based on the actual songs or more for interesting visuals.. I recommend just doing a total deep dive through all their title tracks.

This song has already gotten 2 wins! I love BONVOYAGE. Lyrically it's the story of Dreamcatcher's own personal apocalypse, told from 3 different perspectives:
1) Pre-debut Dreamcatcher (also known as Minx), who are at their lowest point in their careers and who have to make a choice. Give up their dream or re-debut as Dreamcatcher with a completely different image and sound. (verses)
2) Post-debut Dreamcatcher, who are treating every day as their last, going full speed ahead with their new image and sound, while leaving their Minx era image behind. (chorus)
3) Current day Dreamcatcher, a blend of both Minx and Dreamcatcher, who are looking back with pride and love at both versions of themselves. (intro, pre-chorus, bridge and final chorus) ❤
We can take lessons from Dreamcatcher's story and apply it to our own climate apocalypse: Nature is dying, humanity is at a crossroad. If we make the right changes and choices now, and make sure we stick to them and never give up, then in the future humanity can become one with nature and look back at ourselves with pride and love.
Bonus Minx connection: You can also see the Minx-Dreamcatcher connection in their stage outfits. They are either traditional Dreamcatcher style and colorful, or Minx style and darker. The dance also does a good job in mixing Dreamcatcher dance moves and Minx like moves.
this is definitely not the case.. it has no minx connections. it’s a continuation of the vision and maison stories and is a song sung from the perspective of humans to the earth
@@Jeukai I think you need to go check again. I have included that interpretation in my comment as well. Remember that there can be multiple valid interpretations of a song. My interpretation works especially well within the story the album is telling.
I also specifically said lyrically, i didn't not mention anything about the video, but it too can be seen as either a story about nature or a personal story of overcoming hardships and 'catching' your dreams.

@@Jeukai I don't need to specify, since every interpretation is between you and what you interpret. You chose to see it your way, and you are free to do so, ultimately how you see things says more about yourself then it does about what you are looking at.
For me i prefer to see the Dreamcatcher-Minx story, because it is ultimately about overcoming failure and depression, something i've struggled with my whole life.
You probably see the save the earth side of the song and video, and that's great too. It means you are passionate about making a change in the world.

The concept was bubbly (I like bubbly concept).

But they rebranded it to "Dreamcatcher" and debuted as a 7 member group :
