    Wow!!! Possibilities are endless!!!!
So 3 yards if continued fabric until ink goes out? Or…? Only woven fabric?

It can print three yards continuously. One set of standard ink will last an average of 7 rolls of fabric (5.5 yards in each roll, totaling over 35 yards)! For now there is only one type of fabric available, and that is the white woven cotton.

Love this concept for the new Brother's Print Moda Studio. Question. Why are the rolls so expensive? There is only so much you print with just 5.4 yards at $100 each. Cotton fabric is so inexpensive to buy per yard, but Brother is charging $100 just for a tiny amount of yards, 5.4 yards -crazy. I hope to hear your feedback.

Hi Lou! I agree that $100 is a bit of a stretch, but unfortunately that is the price for now. One of the benefits of buying the roll from Brother is the special treatment that the fabric receives to enable ink absorption. This produces vibrant color prints, which I'm especially grateful for when printing personal photos. The roll also features a backing that allows the material to feed through the printer with no jams or wrinkles. This feature minimizes messed up prints and allows you to get the most out of the roll!

The brother website doesn't provide the technical specs of the machine. What information do you have about that?
    01) Print resolutions in pixels
    02) ink volume per color
    03) print speed in color and black only mode based on print resolution and size
    04) are the inks water based dyes or pigmented inks for longevity, waterproof, highly fade resistant?
    05) What is the recommended drying time before the material should be handled in a crafting / manufacturing use?
    06) Are there weird odors from the ink (Epson's DuraBright pigmented inks have a strange smell)?
    07) How many times can a printed piece of fabric be run through the washing machine before wear & tear start to show?
    08) Will the inks bleed into other clothing in the washing machine?
    09) If so how long until that stops being a problem?
    10) Are there special instructions for washing and drying? Some inkjet printed fabrics require you to turn the item inside out when washing and drying. In the dryer they also stipulate that it be set to a low or no heat setting and to remove it promptly from both types of machines.
    11) How long will the printed fabrics remain vibrant and under what conditions are the best for longevity?
    12) There was no mention of what the top tray is for, how is the USB port used on the front of the printer?
    13) Can it be used to save projects to it or is it simply for loading files?
    14) Can I use the printer as a standalone unit by adding an external video display or connection to a tablet for viewing and selecting larger files (without the Artsira software)?
    15) I ask because the small screen on the printer itself will be barely useful in choosing files off the USB Flash Drive.
    16) Can the USB port on the printer support a USB powered hard drive like a Western Digital MyPassport hard disk drive?
    17) What is the maximum drive capacity that the printer supports from its USB Type A port?
    18) What format should the USB drive be formatted for (FAT, FAT32, exFAT, NTFS, something else)?
    19) Being an inkjet printer how often do you need to print to prevent clogged print heads or print lines?
    20) How long can I go without printing?
    21) When a clog does develop or broken lines start to appear in the prints what is the cleaning process?
    22) Does the machine use the ink to "clean" itself?
    23) Some inks have a certain shelf life before they "go bad"...does Brother inks have this problem?
I used to sell technology solutions to customers. Not that easy when the manufacturer refused to provide technical specs of their products.

Wow! Brother tech support will be happy to provide answers to these technical questions.
For now I can answer a few:
      3) A 16" print out will take about 1min and a 36" banner takes 2 or 3.
      4) The inks are standard CMYK ink jet inks. The same as you would find on any Brother inkjet office printer.
      5) 15min of dry time. After that I recommend heat setting with an iron or heat press.
      6) No weird odors
      7) This is still being tested, so far there was a bit of fade on the first wash but nothing more after that.
      8) The inks may bleed. It's recommended to wash alone for the first wash and wash with like colors in cold water after that. Air dry only.
      10) Wash cold, air dry. It's important to note that this fabric was not designed for use in garments or items that are worn or washed frequently.
      13) The USB port is meant to be used to print photos on photo paper. Like you would on a standard inkjet printer.
      14) PrintModa was designed to be used with Artspira. There would be no point to buying this printer and using it without Artspira.
      19) It's recommended to always leave the printer on (it will enter sleep mode) so that the self cleaning feature can run. By always leaving it on, PrintModa will self clean to prevent ink tubes from drying up and prevent ink waste.
