Camera doesn’t show them, but one was definitely Lisa. Wasn’t maybe Cindy Mazelle the other lady? Lisa, Ava, and Kevin were on the side of the stage during this song with 2 other background singers. One of them sang this part with Lisa. Who was she?

If you check the album sleeves, I think you'll find that the background singer that appears the most, from Luther's first album to his last, is Gospel Music great Cissy Houston (mother of Whitney Houston). She is now in her late 80s and quite frail. A great singer in her heyday.

I come from Germany and only had contact with R&B, soul and funk music in the clubs of the American military barracks. Back in the 80s there was no internet and in Germany you really had to look for good American music. We in the south of Germany were lucky that there were many American barracks around Heidelberg, Mannheim, Kaiserslauern and Frankfurt. Now that there is the Internet, I am happy to get so much information about the music. I was able to see Luther Vandorss and his great singers live twice in 1987 and 1993, it was simply the best I have ever experienced musically. It's a shame that I couldn't see many, many concerts of American R&B and soul greats. Once I went to a Prince concert in Germany, but I only went there so I could see Rosie Ganes live. I was stunned by the talent I saw touring with Luther. They made him soar even more and he knew it. I loved how he highlighted them in introductions.
Very bittersweet session. They can feel and miss his presence.
Luther was one of the greatest background singers on the planet!! He knew how demanding the job was.
