I mean this jokingly, but when you were reading the aphorisms, it loosely reminded me of Aurelius' "Meditations" except instead of a Roman emperor, it's the thoughts of a Hollywood actor.
Opinions may vary, I do think Donna Tartt is overrated, but at least I think she's competent from the storytelling craft point of view? Like my beef with her writing is more to do with the lack of substance and the fake depth. I think her novels are mediocre but not nearly as bad as most of the poor celebrity writing roasted on this channel.
Now this takes me back! I used to make booktube videos back in 2012/2013, and I once uploaded a video absolutely roasting James Franco's book "Palto Alto." 😂
You poor person I am so sorry you had to read that terrible book. Was it self published! If not then it is a shame as a much better book could have had some exposure.
