Imagine coming in from the cold Skyrim blizzard, hiking for days across the plains from the college of Winterhold.. You arrive at Whiterun, and a warm fire is in the centre of the room and heat hits you like a wall of comfort. Friendly faces greet you as you bring your luggage to the barkeep, and you hang up your cloak. You are handed a nice cold ale and the rooms ambience is one of comfort and jovial content and a bard begins to pluck his mandolin. This is Skyrim.
Before you can sit down to enjoy your drink, a figure bursts into the inn behind you, he's wearing an iron hemlet with horns so you can't see his face. Behind him Lydia the housecarl from Dragonskeep enters looking exhausted, carrying a large backpack bulging full of what looks to be various armors and weapons. You think it odd such an one as Lydia should be hauling such a heavy pack around like some sort of beast of burden. The man turns briefly to Lydia and says, "Hold this", handing her a wickedly sharp looking elvish blade. She replies sarcastically, "I am sworn to carry your burdens." The man, whom you do not yet recognize seems to tremble with rage at her comment, "You're a burden Lydia! You know what, screw this..." Then without warning he shouts in terrible rage, the sound is like a great storm thundering along a mountain side, "FUS DO RAH!" Lydia flies helplessly across the room, bouncing like some comical doll while you tremble in panic and the patrons of the inn flee in all directions. It's the mad dog, Dovakhin.
I write while listening to this. I have speakers and put it away from me as if the music and sounds come from other room, as if there are real people and music next to my room, happy people, music...sound of clashing meed mugs. I drink, smoke and write for hour or two every day with this. I tend to imagine myself as a traveler who writes all his knowledge in a book in a room which he rents every night with gold I got by choping woods. Weird perhaps, but makes every evening better. I love my "made up" atmosphere. Anyways, have a good day everyone. And thanks for the uploader.

I step outside to find I could only see 10-20 ft in front of me, but I figured "eh fuck it It's just a short walk." 20 minutes later after walking through the wind and the snow I step inside the building to warmth, voices, and the smell of food. I honestly felt like I was in skyrim that day.
Mmm... lovely. The crackling fire, the soft mumbling and clinking, as well as the music are woven together quite nicely. This is definitely bring used for tonight's rest!

This is great background music. Right now I'm sipping back on some mead, smoking a cigar (I know that's not skyrim-like but it brings great comfort) and hearing the rain that's coming down my rooftop. Thank you for this music!

Sitting here with dreams of a medieval tavern of my own. Hopefully in my next home I’ll be able to have one and I pray it be bustling with hungry and thirsty smiling faces.
Listen it again and again and I always feel so good. It "remember" me some childhood fantasy, some times something already lived So strange so suggestive so familiar. Still love it as the first time
This makes me want to live in skyrim, just drinking a tankard of ale while chattering with some friendly faces, sharing my travels and listening closely to the wonderful sounds the bard makes.
It probably wouldn't be able to run half of them anyway, given some skyrim next-gen mod setups will give even a gtx 1080 a hiccup to run at 4k with max settings...
Is it weird that I feel more comfortable and more "in my element" listening to this with headphones and volume up to max that I do outside in everyday life and with everyday sounds?
I play brain games on the computer, and with the ridiculous noise from my roommates television throughout the day, this is perfect to relax me from distractions and concentrate on the task(s) at hand. With my headphones, these calming sounds block every bit of noise around me... on low volume!

Coming back to the inn after a day of adventuring, listening to the ongoing conversations between npcs, sitting back and listening to the music was probably the beat part of playing the game. If only we could’ve tried the mead!

Might I suggest that rather than looping the same track a couple times, you shuffle the tavern songs so it doesn't get too repetitive? Great concept, though! I love the crowd sounds, and the music of Skyrim is just beautiful!

This is very charming and relaxing to listen to. I'm actually listening to this in my giant pavilion tent at a live-action roleplaying event right now, and at times it is very difficult to tell the outside conversations and sounds apart from the video. An excellent piece of ambient atmosphere. It sounds like there are a fair amount of layers in this, as well as multiple movements/mood changes. Might I learn what all went into the making of it?

i'm going to share a small D&D story, About "Kiff the Goodberry" So in one campaign i was running we had a guy, sorta new to D&D, he was from New zealand, really nice guy, but he would do things that would question his skills Kiff would get himself into pretty bad spots, one encounter the party were fighting lizardfolk, so Kiff used a spell which makes the entire area as "Rough terrain" inside a dungeon, the lizards walked around the affected area... the lizards focused on him because he was closest, most of the party was range, so he was getting hit by the lizards on one side, and his party were throwing fireballs, shooting arrows & bolts, handaxes on other side, he got friendly fucked lol, he would also ask the other PCs and NPCs "Would you like a Goodberry" he would keep them in his Fannypack, one time the party was jumped by a wraith, he went up trying to "Hold it down", another time the party came across a G Cube the party told him "They are acidic, so don't use your swords/axes on it" so he proceeds to wade into combat, punching and kicking the Cube.... well didn't work out so well, one dungeon he opened 3 trapped chests outa 13, and he only opened the 3, The last adventure,the party was crossing a lava infested gap, instead of using rope he used a vine, and it snapped when he was making his way across, he rolled a nat one, he landed in the lava, fun fact lava is not a liquid so when he landed he botched it, he fell 35-40 ft, doing 38 points of B/F Damage, he only had 30HP he blacked out ontop of the lava, the party were trying to come up a idea to help him....someone had a idea, one of the players had a item called "Dechanter of endless water" ....you know were this is going, the party sprayed him, well, I'm no High class schooler, but going from "Mia kaufila fucking hot" to "Ballsack shrinking cold" might not be the best idea..... so they did it, the water turned to steam but some of the water hit the surface of the lava "Ka-Fuckin-boom" a lava spouts up, hits one of the players that failed a save bame 24 points of fire damage, some of the lava hits Kiff, and that's it for kiff.. felt bad he was a good player, but "That's the way she goes rick
