This was strangely satisfying to watch. Also, it's really cool to see how Ori came to be, and how they must have gone through several concepts before coming to the final version. This is so awesome!
This is how true masterpiece is born. By concepts and ideas. Not jusy doing whatever blind people would buy and sell it as an AAA game for masses. Ori is better than practically any of AAA game. Change my mind :)
Wow, the game probably used less than half of these concepts and the ones they skipped seemed almost as brilliant. I hope they decided to save it for the sequel.
From a gamer perspective, some of them looked totally awesome, but would've been a pain to figure out or even play without Trial and Error. For example, the Ginso Heart. The Engine one looked way too complex, while the Heart Pump one is a sort of artistic Quick Time Event. I'm personally glad they decided to do the Heart and Lungs one....I mean, the two puzzles really looked like two lungs with a heart between them. . Game design can be really fun sometimes. :D One of the many reasons why I love this game.
My three main take-aways while watching this video: 2:51 LOL is that a Golbat? I knew they had a few nintendo references in the game but geez. 3:18: Oh snap, should have brought a repel. Also, dat machine gun spirit energy tho. 4:11 0_0 Holy Crap!
Some of the death animations are surprisingly brutal. At least we now know that spirit blood is white (maybe).
7:56 everyone gangsta until Kuro become Blocks
ixelsel she just turns into a Minecraft parrot 😂
read this before I got to that part in the video and when I saw it I couldn't help but chuckle
@@JNSStudios a giant one indeed

Turns out they did indeed incorporate some of these into the sequel
It's sad that most is left forgoten as they just reused 99% of the ingame blind forest mechanic.
4:05 - 4:17 NO ORI! NOOOOOOOOOO
I’m just glad those were concepts and weren’t added into the final product
CHOP CHOP
I can hear that sequence

4:11 0_0 Holy Crap!
BRUTAL.
Moises Rojas exactly
4:11 TwT poor ori
This is how you white box a game effectively.
4:12 Okay, first off, was there to be a laser based enemy in the game? And second off... oh mein Gott...
Look how they massacred our boy...
The Guardian Stones in Mount Horu shoot lasers, and Moon Grotto features timer-based lasers that kill the player instantly.

What? Ori can talk?
In early development (and in the code that was released), Ori and Sein's names were reversed.
@Alexandre, Joao 2021 Student HS I remember that part, Ori made an adorable sound
No, she can't. Ori was originaly named Sein and Sein was originaly named Ori.
Czesnek Ori isn’t a she, Ori is a he, although the wiki says his species (Spirit Guardians) is genderless
@Alexandre, Joao 2021 Student HS you can hear Ori in other parts too. Just get headphones and turn up sounds
Game dev is beautiful.

this is Unity or another personal engine?

3:17 am I the only one that thinks the plant in the top right looks like weed?
