He was only using that as a cover. He really needed to view insurance records for the bad guy. This entire encounter was to get access to those insurance records.
I wasn't too familiar with actors when I was younger. When I first watched Beverly Hills Cop 2, as soon as Sidney Bernstein opened his mouth and started talking, I was like; "Hold on, that's Iago's voice from Disney's Aladdin. So that's what Iago looks like in real life?"
God damn it. For ar least 15 years i though those "Don't i know it" lines were said by the old asian guy in one of the Lethal weapon movies. No wonder i haven't found it.
after re-watching 1 & 2, you can see why the third movie failed. Axel lacked his childish yet endearing charisma, he was just sanitized in the third movie. that was probably the beginning of the end for Murphys career.
I once read an interview with director John Landis who said Murphy tried to make Foley older, more mature and less wisecracking but that it all ended up hurting the movie.
Doesn't take high speed internet to change some text records, and the connection would likely have been ad-hoc, as in straight dial-in connection to the police server.
@@SirNilzey In all fairness, there's an overt Jewish tone to those characters as well. I agree, it's not like he was in line to be the next Thor or Batman or anything like that. I'd watch them if he was, I'm all for diversity. He was as much a stereotype as John Lovitz, that's another guy I think will pass away with hoardes of miniature shampoo bottles from hotels under his bed.

Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
Ligma.
9 It could have been longer

Priceless😅
Fun fact: this is the role that got him into voicing Iago in Aladdin.
Rest in peace Gilbert Gottfried.
😔
RIP Gilbert Gottfried
Ahh, I had no idea he had passed! 🥺 All my favourite actors from my childhood are all leaving me behind.
And Allen Garfield & John Aston!

I like how John Ashton was trying to keep from laughing.
Rosewood: I CANT BELIEVE......
Taggart: I DONT WANNA HEAR IT BILLY 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's like putting on your sunglasses make you innocent of all the wrong doing around you. Lol, great scene
It’s more a sign of complacency to the scheme. They are trying not to give it all away with their eyes. It’s why poker players wear sunglasses.
I thought they were trying to make sure they wouldn't be recognised in the future if Sidney ever testified in court about police corruption?
80s, a time where you could access the police data from any computer to wipe evidence from the system... or at least convince anyone you can.
Also I see a lot of "terminals" being hacked with "calculators." Such geniuses those 80's hackers are....
@@XENOS_Indie_Game_Dev it's ok, those hackers "modified" them using their hacking skills.
@@XENOS_Indie_Game_Dev Some calculators were programmable even back then.

I've been using the "ouch let go of my arm!" phrase ever since seeing this movie!!
Axel immediately dropped his police voice the second he got Bernstein to fall in line. One of my favorite scenes

john ashton was trying so hard to not laugh.
Totally stole the scene, RIP to an amazing colossal actor.
RIP Gilbert. This is when movies were so good. Miss the 80s movies!
I always wondered how Sidney would react on being telephoned by a charity in the next few days thanking him for his generous donation.
A big mouth that left generations of Americans laugh. RIP Gilbert Gottfried. We miss you.

Y'know, at the beginning of that scene, Mr. Bernstein looked as if he might have been "......A TALENT AGENT, SITTING IN HIS OFFICE....."
This entire scene is classic comedy!
This still gets quoted to this day " especially the " its like a James's Bond thing"
the Beverly Hills Cop movies are Eddie's Best movies!!
"I'm jewwy Mc jewstien"
2 Legends.
This where I became a Gilbert fan.
R.I.P. Gilbert Gottfried, John Aston, And Allen Garfield!
I only wathced the first one back then... this is the first time I noticed Gilbert here -> f**ckin great.
"No, no, no BITCH"
Lucky Guess🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Eddie really should be chief in Beverly hills Cops 4

RIP,Iago😢
RIP Gilbert Gottfried.
Oh, how I miss the 80s.
Gilbert Gottfried - legend! 😍😍😍
I don’t want to hear it Billy
Reminder it’s ok, Axel is off duty.
Guessing Maxwell Dent doesn't hold too many meetings with Sidney. Did Eddie have a say on Gilbert getting this role?
Wait so Sydney’s computer in the 1980s could connect via the internet that didn’t exist to the Beverly Hills police database?
That's cute... it was only 35 odd years ago that $200 was considered a decent amount of money.

So they had high speed Internet and VPN's in the Early Eighties then?

They typecast Gilbert as a Jewish guy.

@@SirNilzey A parrot or duck perhaps.
