I have a little acronym I use to remember which way to move the bridge. I call it the three Fs rule. If the Fretted note is Flat move the bridge Forward. And Forward means towards the neck. I hope that helps 😊
damn Mike good lesson learned about intonation on trumpet back in grade school but had no idea what it meant in the context of guitar keep rockin my dude 🤙🤙
Just a comment - due to the string height at the 12th, pressing the string down to the fret makes it sharp. If playing fretted, I guess this works OK, but with a slide the note may not be sharp at the 12th so it's worth checking this.
Mike I love your videos in your guitars. I’ve been making them for about 2 1/2 years now I’ve done five hard bodies in about 15 cigar boxes. Do you ever use an adjustable metal bridge
Hey Mike! Why shouldn't the tuning be perfect on a cbg? Is it because they were not made in a factory and therefore not possible to intonate perfectly? Love the channel.
The high G is an octave higher than the low G. If the low G is tuned G3 then the other G will be tuned G4 as an example. The D will be a D3 in this example.
Simple, quick, & to-the-point. Thank you, Mike!
I like the way you explain stuff the simple way Mike...thanks Mike.
I always check the first 3 to 4 frets. If it is sharp the nut may need to be filed down at the corresponding string.
What a helpful tip! And explained easily and well. Thanks!

What’s the measurement from fretboard to strings on your guitars at the 12th fret?
Hi Mike
Are the strings tuned G4 D4 G4 or is the thick G tuned lower

Shouldn't it be 25.5"?
