in Philippine Pageants, speaking english has never been compulsory or required, its just that English is our 2nd language that's why majority of the girls speak it

and making our girls speak english even if it's only our 2nd language is detrimental to almost all of our candidates. how many times have we lost just because many of our girls can't express themselves "naturally" when speaking in english? this is where latinas success is. even they speak very good english, they still opt to speak in spanish during final interview. when can we learn from this?
Actually english is a part of our culture. So even if you speak the filipino language from time to time you still speak in english. I dont know it's just come out automatically in our mouth.
@@allanis_the_great Nah. I would rather it be like that than the experience Latinas and other foreign language speaker have wherein translators, most of the time, fuck their answers up.

She nailed it. Being a family Oriented person touches our emotions especially when you address your mom as an example because everyone has a mother that we love and miss. She has connected emotional and no flowery words needed.

Fun fact: previously, Rabiya Mateo and Bea Gomez won best in swimsuit and they both won MUPH for their respective years. This was such a phenomenal show. It felt like the real Miss Universe. The whole program was so touching and really heartfelt. People forget that the scores are based on OVERALL performances. You're right that it can't be just at the end that you do well. Way to go Pasay. You're our Queen
This is buy far one of the best MUP addiction.
At the end of the day MU girls is judge on their Physique first. A show is a show!

She was on-point with her interview answers. One thing about pageant questions is that you can shoot yourself down if you say too much. She got her answer across and she didn’t need to elaborate. She is very genuine and at the same time very poised and regal. She is like wine that’s refined. Perfeito! Muito muito Bonita!
Pasay City is a well deserved win😊😊❤️❤️. I do however still feel Cebu city was robbed😭😭I hope she comes back next year.

I had a feeling that Cebu City was not ready yet. I wish she comes back though because she is a strong candidate who needs a bit of training.

My top 5 after the casual interview is Pasay, Misamis Oriental, Albay, Iloilo Province and Cebu City.
most of them can return since they're all young and far from the age limit. OMG, we have the same thoughts on Baguio as Best in Swimsuit and we're all the same as to reaction about the Evening Gown winner. But I love Michelle
I have a lot of wishes. This edition was full of good candidates.
Yan ang matagal ko ng hinihintay ang gayanin nila ang program format ng Miss Universe. Lahat ng segment maganda, kaso ang hindi lang maganda sa camera, yong swimsuit at long gown, hindi pa tapos rumampa ang nauna may kasunod na kaagad which is nakaka distruct sa viewers. Dapat naka freeze muna sa bandang dulo ang next bago maglakad palapit at pabayaan muna makaalis ang nauna. Kunti pa. By next year perfect na yan. May gaganda na yan dahil nasimulan na ngayon
Yes pero i would like to add. Sana mas matagal pa yung ramp😅 i mean by pag ka tapos ng isang kandidata(kapag naka alis na sa fromt stage) saka palang lalabas yung susunod na kandidata. Or 1 second advance to that. Para minimum distraction nga
Imagine winning that title without her family/mother, which ties back to her very answer. Any accomplishment taste sugar-free without the presence of your loved ones. It shouldn't be hard to empathize with her.
She knew what she needed to work on and she did. She was determined to improve her skills, take a break in pageantry to better herself and do whatever it takes to win! That's what you call grit, and the last time I've seen that was with Catriona. I'm sure she'll be on those early prediction videos.

MUP is based on overall performance
Consistency is the key, remember Anchile she's a good speaker too leveled with cat's eloquence but she didn't even make it to the first cut.
She won't. She's not that consistent since prelims. She's like, in and out of the radar. Her oratory might be the best, but her performance overall is weak.
she's a weak performer, miss universe is not just about q & a
Bohol kind of turns me off when speaking. Super low intonation voice, that a bit diff to understand.
Miss pasay is miss earth &Makati is miss world
They are all beautiful I love Palawan and Baguio in the interview they are all good in communication skills in English

The Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown awards are derived from the girls' performance in the PRELIMINARY swimsuit and evening gown competition, and both Pasay and Makati did amazing in those competitions.

actually a lot of fans misunderstood nueva vizcaya's placement, she was an automatic finalist because she was the winner of the online votes.
Nice reaction!!! hahaha, and to answer your question, the candidates are free to speak any language/dialect that they are comfortable with, just like in Miss Universe they can also have their own interpreter. 😊

They're not forced to speak English, they have the rights to choose what language they want to use.
My bet for swimsuit is Baguio too.. However, when I reviewed their performances, Pasay didn't do any pageant poses to make her performance look good. She just walked, be herself, and smiled. Baguio did a lot, from her face, foot work, hands, turns....
the Best in Swimsuit was based during the Preliminary Competition and Celeste was outstanding there and for Best in Evening Gown which won by Makati was also based during the Preliminaries and she did great.

Congrats Shamcey and the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Organization. Ang ganda ng presentation. Mabuti na lang na ang lahat segment sa opening, preliminary (casual) interview and everything lahat sa program ginaya nyo sa Miss Universe format. Sobrang ganda kaya lang dapat ang Swimsuit and Long Gown competetion dapat yong next candidate hindi agad lumalapit sa center stage, dapat bago pumasok yong susunod pabayaan munang makaalis ang nauna. Sa camera tuloy medyo magulo ang anggulo. Nakaka distruct tingnan na rumarampa pa yong nauna may kasunod na kaagad. Dapat naka freeze muna sa dulo ang susunod at huwag mo ng maglalakad papuntang unahan. Hintaying nakaalis ang nauna bago maglakad sa unahan. Mali kasi ang queue ng floor director.

Bohol could have won if Q and A is the only basis. Makati stood out in a FAIR amount of energy in all aspects of the competition. However, Pasay aced all categories, she may not the most standout in Q and A portion, but her charisma, over all performance and destiny took her to the crown. Still, it was a great show, our bets may not be able to clinch their desired spot but they're all equally amazing, intelligent and wonderful women. Cebu City was my bet to win and I'm not really disappointed about Chantal not grasping the crown because she has more chances in the future. The moment that she'll come back, I know that she'll be a frontrunner❤

There are around 120 to 175 language spoken in our country, depending on how they are classified. Filipino and English is our national language based on the current constitution that is why a lot of us know how to speak in English so it's ok for them to speak in English as well, if they want to. We are also taught English in our school from kindergarten, grade school, highschool and even in college. But I understand what your point is it's her choice to speak in her native language. But I think in MU Taguig's case language is not her problem it's just that she's nervous and she don't know when to stop. Her answer was good at the beginning it's just the last part she add something that'll make her answer longer but she doesn't have enough time left.

Celeste was born in the Philippines and is Filipina at heart, but her growing up in Italy definitely had its impact on the way she speaks. Beyond the obvious accent, she speaks in a practical, sincere, straightforward manner, just like many Italians do, devoid of flowery embellishments just to sound poetic or impressive. What you hear from her is pretty much an accurate representation of her as a person.
i love celeste's accent. it doesn't bother me at all.
@@allanis_the_great it shouldn't, as what matters is that she chose to represent the Philippines. However, not everyone is as understanding or accepting as you. I hope she does work on immersing herself more into the local culture. (Cat dove right in, learned whatever she could, even dropped her Aussie accent to sound more credibly Filipina and to address qualms that she's just another halfie who grew up abroad and doesn't know about ner native heritage, and yet she still got bashed for it). But I'm confident that with the longer prep time coupled by Celeste's quiet determination, she will be able to improve massively right in time for the international competition.

Our Constitution recognized two official languages: Filipino and English. However , there are at least 100 local languages and dialects that are spoken throughout the archipelago.
Our laws are written in English. City and local ordinances are in English. The medium of instruction in schools is English and also the local language. Thank you.

Whaaat? That's unfair. If it's based on the prelims then it should be awarded in the prelims show itself or during the special awarding on the start of the finals!
@@walter4708 Best in ss and gown were always based on prelims. The ss and gowns presentation for finals are for the judging of top 16 to top 10. That's why prelims is the most important part of the competition
