    Thanks a lot for showing off that new feature. We believe this is the only physically simulated gear system in a sim.
    Note that the mechanism is totally able to revert: when you are back at turn 0 shut off valve just opens and doors will close.
    As a side note, airflow and hydraulics are fully simulated also, and the super slow speed shown on the Fenix is totally overdone.

      Does it also fail to extend with loss of ADR 1+3. Haven’t had time to look

    The doors should release and start opening after the second turn, gear itself after the third turn. You can turn the handle counter-clockwise (and this is part of the maintenance procedure to put the aircraft back into normal configuration), but that's probably counter-productive if you're trying to extend it!

    • @holland7862

      yes! we mostly expose them for the sake of testing our own internal systems, hence the warning up top. however some of them are already pretty well done such as the EFCS ones in the experimental version for the flight computers.
      you can fail very specific things too, like an individual proximity sensor in a gear assembly. all wip though

    Would you be interested in doing a video about go arounds in the Fenix? Especially ones using autopilot. I did a go around on LOWI 26 RNAV Z and i had MAJOR issues in getting the autopilot to go to the hold correctly, the manuals in the go around flightplan are confusing me :( Also i had issues in getting it to release itself from the hold and start the approach again.
    Thank you so much for your videos! Your the reason why i bought the Fenix and ive pretty much learned everything in how to fly it from your videos :)

    Gear extension also has a speed limit of M 0.60 so I would say speed has to be below both 250kts and M 0.60

    Actually, I just watched my friend some weeks ago flying msfs in an a330-900neo (Discord) .his right engine stalled right after takeoff. So he flew a ''traffic circuit?'' but his gear didn't come out so he actually also did a gravity extension. Now, just a few days after, I'm watching this video😂

  • @tomstravels520
    @tomstravels520 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Captain Joe has a really good video about the landing gear gravity extension and how the gear is pushed up by the hydraulics not pulled up as most people think.

    • @leloginquitu
      @leloginquitu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s push to retract for main gears but push to extend for nose gear. This is all simulated too in A32nx :)

    I was surprised not to see the 3 green lights come on. I'd have assumed that they were connected to some kind of independent sensor for each gear sensing that the gear is locked, rather than the lgciu. How else are you to be sure that the gear is actually locked in position once gravity put them down?

    • @tomstravels520
      @tomstravels520 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I asked the ToLiss developer about this as their model does still show the lights with faults. They said if the computer has failed but LGCIU 1 is still electrically powered then the lights will come on. The proximity sensors bypasses all the complex computer stuff that may produce the fault

    • @leloginquitu
      @leloginquitu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tomstravels520 If you activate lgciu1 power failure you’ll lose the light indicator. Lgciu1 internal error failure will still show the indicator lights. To check gear state you have the ecam wheel page which is the only reliable reference in any doubt.

    Would it be possible to give us a guide on how to handle failures without a QRH, or if there’s a resource that could take the place of a QRH I’d love that too. The lack of it makes me worried about flying with random failures on, on the Fenix, on the Vatsim network.

    • @Mam_2854
      @Mam_2854 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also would very much like to have access to an airline QRH for enhanced realism... But in the meantime, on most of the failures, following the ECAM acitons and monitor the status status page should get you out of trouble till you land of divert.

    • @jonneexplorer
      @jonneexplorer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mam_2854 yeah I know you can follow the ECAM messages but there’s more to it usually. I’ve been looking and there’s no real good way to get a QRH easily and semi cheaply…
