The fact that this combo has held together not only shows how tough the B58 is but, part of me thinks this will last due to Kerns attention to detail. Great stuff.
Nice thing about the Borg Warner turbo's is that Turbosmart make a cool BOV option for them. Turbosmart is a Kompact BOV bolts on to the BW Efr turbo. Also comes with a recirculation option and dual option for recirculation and BOV capability.
This is good to know, not needing until 800hp. I bet the reason tunes can adjust the burbles is because of the air passing through. Or maybe the exhaust crackle at each shifts is because of the excess air...
@danielchoi1201 I love it. 1. I enjoy the mechanical aspect of clearing the air so nothing goes back into the turbo. I vent to atmosphere but if you have HKS Intake you can recirculate there to create faster spool up. 2. I enjoy the sound of it over the turbo flutter. When you're doing a pull and let of the accelerator and it goes off, it sounds like nothing else on the road.
Can you please make a video on the intake resonator, if I did a intake resonator delete for sound would it hinder performance? everyone seems to have a different opinion saying its only for sound and some say its to stop the air from kicking back from engine through intake stopping fresh air from kicking in
@@kern417 thank you because its very hard to find stuff on that topic, all aftermarket intakes dont have the resonator on too so it just doesnt make sense when ppl say its bad to remove even tho the reasoning makes sense
Sooo I’m getting crazy compressor surge on stock turbo and stage 2. I was thinking on getting a BOV to prevent this surge from happening/sounding. The surge is loud my wife calls it a bird 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks for this video. What if you aren't using the E WG and now have an external WG. Would you be more willing to suggest using and VTA style bov? I'm happy my motor uses a MAP sensor...can have a bit more "fun" with bov's
@@kern417 one more question: with the A91 MT that's out now do you think the DME will manage boost between the TB and Turbo any different than the auto?
I enjoy your videos but some misinformation here. You're mixing up flow and pressure. This is meant for anyone running over 600hp as air flow is much greater vs the 300hp flow of air. Boost is just a measure of restriction in the setup. The OEM design is not meant for that much air flow with larger turbos. The point of this is to alleviate compressor surge... not just sounds or bling like you mentioned.
@@kern417 You said upwards of 800hp and before that mixing up flow and pressure. Just wanted to clear that up as I even with 600hp on a hybrid setup you will get compressor surge.
@@payamh9118 I haven't seen anyone having that issue in the 600s. pressure was related to the discussion since that's the point of it all to bleed off the positive pressure. But i referenced hp instead of flow since it's relative when everyone will ask me if they need it at xx psi. So i tried to put it that way instead

Dude, kickass explanations. Well done!

Actually a diverter valve 🤞🏾
will running the BMS chargepipe + bov kit on stock setup cause HP loss ?

Im running the HKS BOV on my manual supra, no issues at all. AA DP, Dinan CAI, Dinan exhaust, Dinantronics X on map 6 or 7
how do you like the HKS BOV? I'm thinking of getting it as well.

Gets wasted on a vr30 lmaoooooo
Thx for the info bro.
Very helpful thank you! 👍👍👍
Great video
The VR30 comment haha. I was going to say, I think they are too far behind to get any blowback on them.

yes but how does a b58 purge boost where is the diverter valve on these engines
Thanks 🙏 for the video, does this apply to Supra’s as well?
Yes

because of no BOV? that is part of it yes
