Some would rather eat nitrite-free applewood smoked uncured ham and expect to pay more for it. I shop at Aldi and Walmart too but only for things where price is more important than fanciness or it is the same product but priced less.

I agree that Whole Foods is generally very expensive. Although, sometimes I go there and use my Amazon Prime Credit Card and look for the items on sale (yellow tag). I bought a full length down filled coat for $251.99 cad. I know you'll say why why why as there are cheaper coats. Here's the why because where I was living at the time winters normal temp -25c that's -13f. I'm still wearing the same long down filled coat 28 years later, in winter. Sometimes is better to buy quality once, than having to repurchase a new coat every few years.

That was equivalent to a $14 bottle (plus tax), not a bad price for the wine world. 750 ml wine bottles are about the equivalent of two cans. Many bars are charging $10+ per glass (at least here in a coastal California area). Bonus points if she had avoided a convenience store, probably paid extra for that “convenience”.
I think is possible to spend $ 100 to $200 a week. If you only buy the essential thing like house products and foods and gas. Most people do need a Fermob outdoor lounge anyway. It more like a personal Wants.
