I worked on this car at a shop I work at in Hendersonville ,Tn. I was in love with it. Owner wouldn't sell it to me. Glad someone who appreciates it has it now.

A 400 built to run at higher rpms with a single plane would be cool in there. I wouldn't try to make it look like a black and white, I'd be going for an unmarked police (mainly because that was the performance version) sort of look and build with that. Until the newer Dodge Chargers that was the fastest police car ever made running 149mph on the Chrysler proving grounds and 0-60 in 6.3s with a 3.23 sure grip. I bet that sucker could run 160+ easy with an engine that revs higher rpms than a 440. It'd be cool if you could find one of those optional Superlights that came in the grill on some cars. I was like a 5th headlight on the driver's side that was very powerful like a spot light. You're a lucky guy, those cars are hard as heck to find. I'd be stoked to find any Polara (not a convertible) from 1969-1974 2 or 4 door. I'd be tempted to just thoroughly clean it and leave as much original as possible. Original with flaws is cooler than restored IMO.

Very cool old Mopar Brian! Don't worry about matching numbers, you are saving a decent car 😉 I've got an old Mopar hardtop too, a 1958 Chrysler Saratoga. The trunk in my car is huge also! I think the hardtops went away due to safety regulations because of roll over accidents.

Oh sweet! Those remind me of a thunderbird in the front.. I know that the truck Chevy hard tops are more valuable but the wind noise is horrible in them..

Hate to see such a straight original car dismantled from its original condition when it came off the line - this car would be so much more valuable if restored to original condition - I grew up when the “fuselage styled” Mopar 1969 C body models were introduced in September, 1968 - they were some of the most beautifully styled cars ever designed - styling designs - like the hood anodized chrome trim - the subtle flares of this chrome as it gets wider on either side over the headlights - you’ll never see this sort of attention to detail on mass produced cars ever again. She’s screaming for a fresh set of whitewalls with those correct original wheel covers that probably have “Dodge Division” embossed on them - I’m guessing the VIN begins with either DM or DL

I kept the Dodge Division wheel covers on mine but the white walled tires hadda go! So by a stroke of bittersweet luck, some crackhead in the neighborhood started knifing up everyone's tires including mine, so I had an excuse to change them out without guilt 😅

Noticed a lot of people when they get a 4 door classic, they immediately go the police car route. Hope its not to just give it an excuse to be a 4 door! 😑

@@handymanbudgetrevival5047 alright, I say that cuz many are embarrassed (for some reason) for having a 4 door unless it's a police car - plymouth furys, belvederes, amc ambassadors come to mind. And of course Polaras.
