Your struggle with Yemen reminded me of my first ever Italy game haha. I got so confident conquering the Etiop that I launched a similarly horrible naval invasion of mountain-no supply-desert Yemen. I actually felt like real life Italy so I just quit.
i played turkey and went around invading everything in arabia and only bit a roadblock once i invaded yemen. dozens of chinese communist divisions pouring onto their capital and the only remaining province
I was screaming as I watched him do that, he could’ve invaded so easily with the first naval invasion tech if he just invaded a port and the two tile next to it with three divisions but NOOOO he only had TWO per naval invasion
Just a point that might help naval invasions, maybe train your troops to level 3 first, so they don't take debuts of recruits and actually get a bonus to attack. I think the difference is 50% as its a 25%debuff when they are recruits and a 25% bonus when they are level 3. Just saying, also attacking from multiple ports to help supply and mayb multiple tiles so they don't reinforce. Set up orders of 2 or 3 from multiple ports and then if you land outside a port they can assist attacking into the port
I'm pretty sure that Yemenese AI got hidden stats buff secretly coded to piss off everyone who plays Ethiopia. This is something that Paradox would do.
Perhaps researching Trucks and Trains as well as building the odd railroad and supply hub/port may help with your constant supply problems? May not be possible as Ethiopia, not sure tbh.
Also you can turn off allied supply in supply hubs/ports to prevent your allies from dropping 600 units in your freshly taken port. And you can adjust how each hub supplies your troops, with horses, some trucks or lots of trucks.
Yeah at least going off what we can see in the video i think he was thinking infrastructure was supply and forgot about railroad connections and levels. Cause infrastructure only increases supply when using trucks cause it makes transporting with them more efficient.

Not the first time I've seen Aussa commit seppuku when they survive the 2nd Italian-Ethiopian War. I think it's probably something in their focus tree that always pushes them toward that or something. I haven't played Aussa because like who the heck wants to play the nothing that gets annexed by Italy 5 minutes into most games except absolute masochists.

Ethiopia has to be the hardest nation in the game, like actually the hardest. Some might point to a nation like Equatorial Guinea to call the hardest and while there is truth to that, a one state enclave, (so no building slots at all and no ability to gain any) no preexisting industry and 200 some thousand in the country total. You can expand to gain cores but that requires fighting the allies. You also need to win the Spanish civil war, if you want to be "realistic" you'd also need the release yourself as puppet because Spain likely wouldn't just give up territory, but given that it has virtually no value they might. Even if you don't it's as hard because you can still go communist for free Manpower declare war on the allies and use the German distraction to take land. Might be difficult but you generally have more time to prepare. Ethiopia is one of 2 nations in war at the start of 1936 the other of course being Italy so it gives you no time to prepare, you have bad infrastructure most of the country has none in fact, you have 1 civ and 2 mils and that 1 civ will need to be trown away for steel to keep up on weapons production. On top of that the enemy is a major power, pathetic in terms of the others but in comparison to you they aren't. Also they have full control of the air and can bomb you at will. Ethiopia is a micro manage heavy game against Italy which is why they are the hardest in the game by a long shot imo
As someone who plays as dumbass powers, fight Oman first. They have one troop, land not on their capital with at least two troops. Bait their only troop and then cap Oman. Easy land border.
Bro, you should just watch Bitt3rsteel guide and do it a lot easier, and maybe, maybe, you even like this Ethiopian path =)

As someone who has around 50ish save games as Ethiopia, I always invade Saudi Arabia before going for Yemen exactly because of the naval invasion bullshit you endured here. ALSO if you rush the Horn of Africa focus before you peace out with Benito, you can actually reintegrate and core Eritrea and Somalia and who the fuck ever else is independent or a puppet in the Horn of Africa without going to war with anyone. Edit: "I will join the Axis and invade Jamaica" is such a hilarious statement out of context.

Best way to invade Yemen is invade Saudi Arabia first. It has less manpower than Yemen and has more coastlines. Also why you didn't combine federal empire and improve horn if Africa decisions for quickly industrialize yourself? Free factories and free units were just there
