Meaning the airfield becomes useless, considering you can't choose which province the airfield spawns in. If they did allow you to choose the province, you could just spam them in every province. Pretty much making it so you don't need more than 500 km range on planes cause you can just build an airport in every province. If they limit it to one airport per state but you can decide where to build it, in contested states one person could build an airport purely so the enemy can't build one in the state. If the players can build one in each different controlled side, what if one person captures the other airfield? You'd have 2 airfields in one state. So while it's simple to change it, it's much more complicated to find something that works better.
it took me 3 days to get the abbasid rise again achievement in ck2 cause all my good r ulers kept dying of stupidity. funniest part, is that my very first character on that run, got the immortality event, got to the very end of it, but because he didnt have enough diplo, the dude ate the apple instead of giving it to my guy and then he died a week or so later
I think I’d stop playing the game for months after that. I remember one time a few years ago I was playing new Vegas and I died to one of the land mines on the bridge in primm and my last save was right before I talked to ringo. That was in February and I think I didn’t touch the game again till October
... that's like 20 minutes if you skip dialogue. Sure it's a pain but it's not eight months of not playing the game pain. That's one of the best parts of new Vegas. If you don't care about immersing yourself it's remarkably easy to speed through by skipping dialogue. Only parts of the entire game that you can't really speed through are the combat portions of lonesome road and pretty much all of dead money... Beep beep beep flashbacks intensifying.

Needs to build 10 battleships. Needs them to be the cheapest to spam out. Adds 2 additional heavy gun batteries for no reason. Also makes converted battleship hulls for carriers instead of just using the converted cruiser ones. BRUH
What’s ironic about it is that the name of the achievement is “My ships don’t lie” yet those ships are definitely nothing but lies, as he said himself “just floating platforms/decks”

Once did a game playing as Venezuela trying to conquer all of South America. Only had Brazil left and died. Lessons learned: 1: Brazilian jungle suck ass. Your infantry WILL get overrun when retreating. 2: Chile looks easy. It's actually an enormous pain in the ass since you can't perform encirclements easily.

idk if this will help you at all but I learned the game by playing with the console commands so I could just bypass anything that was taking too long and fly through all the different techs etc. Once I had a couple of cheat playthroughs like this I jumped into an ironman game as UK and had the best RTS experience of my life That was years ago, I've got nearly 5k hours on steam with this game and I'm still, still to this day finding out new things about the game. If you are planning to figure out this game, hopefully that helps you a bit, but it's definitely worth it
Another way to learn the game, the way I used, was through playing mods. If you have a mod you really enjoy the setting of (for me it was the old world blues mod) it helps you power through the initial learning curve. However you choose to go about it though, I hope you find it as fun as I did.

I played hoi4 for about 500 hours since 2018 because of you. I am pretty good but navy is still a bit complicated, it is cool to rp as a little natuon getting decent ships so you feel some pride.
The focus in the generic tree that provides a 100x boost and a 2x year ahead of time reduction applies to small airframes as well as the mediums, which means you can actually spend the multiple other boosts earlier! Unless you plan on using them for modern fighters.
Something I saw one time: The AI Sealion. No joke, I was playing the U.S, looked over, and saw the UK at 50% Capitulation. I saved the game, but thay was unexpected.
Never assume it's permanent stalemate. As Finland, I ended up at war with the Allies and it was a "failed run." I let it run at 5x speed overnight. In the morning, someone had apparently invaded the US and taken them out, giving me a peace deal to grab all my stuff. It was 1981.
At least Brazil actually sent an expeditionary force unlike every other SA country that did nothing and then declared on hortler three days before the war was over to pretend they're in the cool kids club

I did this before taking navies was a thing. I formed Gran Colombia from Peru, and conquered all of South America except Brazil. The hardest part was affording all the steel for the ships. Made the best ships i could so it took forever. Finisehd in 48.

@ISP You know you could built up your civs before the dockyards since you’ll have to trade them away for resources. Secondly, you should have probably sold off all military equipment for civs and converted your Mils to civs. Lastly, you should have converted your old CLs in convert CVs. As long as it’s actually a CL and not a coastal defense ship you’re able to convert them. If you use the same engine on the CV as the CL you can drop it lower. The BBs only needed a gun on it to make it a BB. You probably could have cut off more then an hour by doing this.
There are 47 active carriers in the world right now. The nation with the most is the us with 11. Just let that sink in just how truly absurd this achievement is

The US only intervenes in vanilla if you join a faction. You can conquer South America unopposed if you don't join anyone.
