First and foremost this system of having to periodically pass appropriations bills to keep the government open is fundamentally broken. It's natural for the two parties in Congress and the Executive branch to have difficulty seeing things eye-to-eye from time to time, that should not result in a government shutdown! While I personally feel this shutdown is indeed Trump's fault - it is true that he is not the only one to have triggered a shutdown to push his own agenda, or to have used a shutdown to try to damage his political opponents. That is the nature of the system as it stands, disagreements turn into shutdowns which become politically costly - and not necessarily for the people who deserve it.

Yeah I worked as a grocery store cashier. Over a quarter of food stamp users would use their ebt card to buy luxury foods such as shellfish, imported cheeses, artisan goods, and graded beef. The system is a sham. Ebt should be much more like WIC. Also WIC should get a larger standing budget and this problem wouldnt be a problem.
I live on less than $800 a month and depend on food benefits which is only $123 a month. I already struggle and have to skip eating a handful of days during the month. My rent goes up every year which is difficult for me. I'm not sure how this is going to turn out for people like me.

A wall will cost between 25 and 35 billion dollars. Not including tue cost of the private land. Most illegal (60% according to the DOJ) immigration happens due to visa overstays. IRA investments are disappearing, people losing paychecks, medical bills unpaid, assistance to farmers promised but will go uncompensated, and so much more. Our dysfunctional government is making things less safe and secure, and the world watches the slow suicide of a nation. One can only hope that we will learn from our mistakes, see the vurnabilities in our system, correct them, and some day be stronger for it. But for now, it sucks to be US.

Went on Department of Agriculture website ( they are in charge of SNAP programs) they will fund February but no funding for March. I don’t receive food stamps but I work in a high food stamp grocery store. People who don’t understand where the food stamps come from, do your homework! The Department of Agriculture distributes to the states.

Yeah I worked as a grocery store cashier. Over a quarter of food stamp users would use their ebt card to buy luxury foods such as shellfish, imported cheeses, artisan goods, and graded beef. The system is a sham. Ebt should be much more like WIC. Also WIC should get a larger standing budget and this problem wouldnt be a problem.
