It's much harder to go back to an extreme heat after coming off a big wave of heat. When eating actual chilies it's a better strategy to chew really well because large chunks are guaranteed to cause much worse stomach cramps.

pressure canning ruins peppers in my opinion. Hot brine over cold pack is the way to go. Keep them peppers CRUNCHY. Too much heat makes it a big mushy mess which is why I never use a pressure cooker for canning unless it is for MEAT.

I think it boils down to the reason why you're eating. To try it out? Yeah, it burns like hell. To show you can do it? It still burns like hell but you can power through. To win something? It still burns like hell but you won't notice until it's all over. I remember my cousin trying to scare me with a Habanero sauce when I was little, and me just eating it like it was nothing. Not because it didn't hurt, but because I'm too much of a piece of crap to let anyone tell me I can't do something.

Had a good feeling Stevie was going to win at the stater of the burger, dude was taking huge bites the whole way through. He knew the most eaten would be the winner, started with the big bites right out of the gate.
Yeah, he had the winning strategy. When Josh read the rules, I figured that whoever could take the biggest bites would win, he outsmarted the competition.
And based on my experience(is there a factual study about this or no lol), having your mouth full can dampen spicyness or maybe its just my ADHD being distracted by me chewing large quantities of food in my mouth. It works for me though.
The only way to make the burger more painful to eat would be to add some spicy grilled pineapple to it to make little cuts all over the people's mouth multiplying the spice factor.
No lie, I could not have done this for $100,000. I had wings with a little of that Mad Dog at around a million scoville, and i was wrecked after one small bite. Hats off to these folks.

Not how the scoville system works..as a chef he should know that whatever the high3st scoville ingredient is any ingredient with a lower score doesn't add on to the total it takes away effectively watering down.
Reminder that scoville heat units is a measure of concentration/dilution. Adding a tablespoon of 9M SHU pepper paste to a cup of vinegar will dilute the SHU by a lot.
Without a full lab test, there is no way to measure the Scovilles exactly, all I know is that I would never try to eat that, not for just a knife anyway.
I think this burger has the potential to be a fun reoccurring competition that I'm sure tons of people would sign up for, with a grand prize or recognition. Just look at hot ones. Extremely entertaining episode would love to see more myself

Not gonna lie, spiciness aside, that burger looks really tasty. Although if you want to do another one of these, I just thought of a potential super spicy pizza recipe: the “Now That’s a Spicy Meatball” pizza (apologies to anyone who might be offended by that name). The main topping would be meatballs with diced chilies mixed in (dealer’s choice, but I’d personally try habaneros since ghost or higher would probably be hard to find for me) and coated in extra spicy hot sauce. Then the other toppings would be pepperoni and jalapeño slices, and you can spice up the other pizza elements however much you’d like. Let me know what you think.
I love making my own spicy burgers. 2 handmade quarter pounders with all the usual seasoning and red onion but chopping up a Reaper or a Pot douglah and adding that into the mix. Obviously not 9m scoville, but theyre hot and the taste of the pepper fused into the meat makes them delicous. When cooked theyre about 2 inches thick and theyre the best burgers ive ever had. My arse suffers the following morning though.

Not gonna lie, spiciness aside, that burger looks really tasty. Although if you want to do another one of these, I just thought of a potential super spicy pizza recipe: the “Now That’s a Spicy Meatball” pizza (apologies to anyone who might be offended by that name). The main topping would be meatballs with diced chilies mixed in (dealer’s choice, but I’d personally try habaneros since ghost or higher would probably be hard to find for me) and coated in extra spicy hot sauce. Then the other toppings would be pepperoni and jalapeño slices, and you can spice up the other pizza elements however much you’d like. Let me know what you think.

I love making my own spicy burgers. 2 handmade quarter pounders with all the usual seasoning and red onion but chopping up a Reaper or a Pot douglah and adding that into the mix. Obviously not 9m scoville, but theyre hot and the taste of the pepper fused into the meat makes them delicous. When cooked theyre about 2 inches thick and theyre the best burgers ive ever had.
My arse suffers the following morning though.

I've had Plutonium-9, the 9 Mill gummy bear, and the 9 Mill sucker (Devils kiss, or whatever the name was, can't remember right now) before. Once you get used to it a couple dozen times, 9 million scoville isn't that bad, bro. That burger looks good too 😋
