    All these years later and it's easy to understand why so many builders credit you for their ideas and their abilities in settlement building.

    This feels like a wholesome hermitcraft video talking about basebuilding, meanwhile it's actually post-apocalyptic and he's calmly talking about putting up turrets and selling armor for people traveling into a sea of radiation. I love it!

    I love how organic this build feels. It feels like you're building something that would truly work in the game world. Functional and believable. I dig it, man.

      Thank you! Glad you're enjoyin it. The secret to organic is basically don't try to build the whole thing at once. Build one thing, leave for a while, come back and look it and think "what's one thing they need now," build that, leave again... after a while it just goes from being "a bunch of buildings" to "a settlement" somehow. ;)

      SarDeliac I'm doing that right now with a scrappy, non-vault-tec build of Vault 88. Build a shop. Go kill some stuff and return. Build a house or two. Go kill some more stuff for their loot and crap shack inspiration. Build a gate for one of the tunnels. Rinse. Repeat.

    so I think it finally clicked. I've been trying 2 remind myself 2 take in the scenery n pay attention to how the world is built. there's limitless inspiration to b had if u r looking 4 it. I get "builders block" so bad it can b discouraging, but if I remember to look around it isn't long b4 I find something that I wanna try. you've extended the life of this game many fold 4 me. keep up the good work

    Looks like a great little house for the survivor to be able to use. I really like how everything came together. It is a great use of the space, and not overdone at all. I like how each area was separate from the other ones, but there was easy access to them as well. I look forward to the next build.

      Thanks loco! If all goes well we'll be touring this thing some time this weekend.

    I know this is an old videos but when you were building at 6:42 and your couldn't get that outside piece to snap in , it was because of the flat roof you had put up . If you would have removed the roof it would've snapped right in .. but thanks alot for the tips and ideas

    (5:30) Even more weird than coming and going? Relay in, sleep a few hours in one of the medical beds, grab food and water from the cafeteria, then relay out.

    17:13 The slog is always a fun place to build, in my opinion. I always build resort type places there lol

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Slog is another one that I haven't seriously built up in a really long time. Gonna have to figure out what to do with the main house, for sure.

    Sar it looks like u were right on the money. Gambit77's version was updated practically over night. he cut the rez in half and now it's only ~40 MB. good call! thanks bud.

    ROFL! Hahaha the teleporting situation is so funny!^^ Now you mentioned it, i will never see my teleportation 'behaviour' -which is the same as yours-, in survival, the same again LOOOOL
    I am playing, played, the Skyrim survival mode too. I am not very happy with it, because of some reasons you mention and just some no sense things that make the hole thing, for me, almost just annoying. It's a bit over the top in a negative way i think with no REAL Options for us to deal with it. No Bedrolls or Campires you can build; no Cloakes, no way to heat up some food or something in the wild...and i think that are thinks every adventurer is able to do /= But maybe they put in some thinks like that in the future. (= I hope you will have more fun on long term than i have! (=
    And this build again is just awesome

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it's like **bjzzzt** "Oh, look, it's--" **bjzzzt** "--and she's gone." haha And yeah, the Skyrim survival is really fiddly and punitive; it's like a bunch of common-sense things we'd use to keep warm (like, oh, I don't know, multiple layers of clothes) aren't even available--and you'd think being as cold as it is, the natives would have come up with a lot more ways to not die from frostbite. (Plus, how in the hell do Argonians survive outdoors at all? They're friggin reptiles!)
      And thanks! Good to know this stuff is helping a little. :)

    I think you can teleport from the airport because your pipboy has been modified while others have to "call" the Institute to teleport.

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhhh, yeah, that makes perfect sense. The airport doesn't block the relay, it just blocks the GPS so they can't get an inbound lock. Thanks!

      SarDeliac it's just theory since I haven't done the math. 🤔

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a theory that works. ;)

    Looks great, love how organic it feels with the barnacle style of building. Perfect from an RP perspective.
    As for the CC survival thing...the mod they ripped off (Frostfall) lets you gradually develop skills to deal with exposure, craft tents and furs, get better at lighting and maintaining fires in harsh weather etc. etc. I wonder if they simplified it so people wouldn't see it as a blatant theft, or if it really was that low-effort from the start... (None too happy about CC, as you've probably gathered.) You got a raw deal on that character though, no doubt ;)

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmmm... maybe I'll go download that instead and give it a go, then. Sounds more complete and thought-through, for sure.

    • @riddarhyttan
      @riddarhyttan 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      'Tis. It doesn't include hunger or thirst, mind you, but there should be 50 other mods you can try and tailor to suit.

    22:38 Are You going to build a city at spectacle island ? 24:25 I love your builds it opens my eyes too better idea's. Take care SarDeiliac and have a great day

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      At Spectacle it was gonna be a small town or fishing village-style thing on this character; for the megabuild it's looking very much like I'm gonna turn it into a BOS training complex. Got some ideas already, and USO adding the loading-screen mannequins helped a lot. No more cities though haha Starlight was pretty much it. That kinda thing just isn't my style.
      And thanks! You too. :)

    hey sar, u may wanna b sitting down: I have a question! when u recover from shock, could u tell me the difference between AWKCR from Gambit77 and Valdacil? I went with Valdacil cuz it's 200MB smaller. other than that idk what the difference is. sry man. If I got a question, I ask sar. if I can't find the answer. thanks

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've only ever used Valdacil's, and it does way more than I need so I didn't even think to look to see if there was another version. So yeah, I don't know what the difference is, but if I had to guess, an increase of 200 MB makes me think Gambit's version probably has a lot more textures in it. Might have included the color swapping or something similar?

      No, I just scav as I go. I usually don't start building until my characters are in their 40s and by then I've usually amassed a ton of stuff.

    I’m mesmerised by how effortless you make building settlements and structures seem🥲 it’s like watching a magic trick unfold - you don’t know what’s going on at first and then boom the end result just blows my mind away
