You're right that T1 is India's largest domestic terminal. However, it’s also among the largest terminals overall when compared to other major terminals in India, like Hyderabad, Mumbai T2, and Delhi T3, each with a capacity of around 40 million passengers. So, while T1 specializes in domestic flights, it stands out in size among the biggest terminals in the country.
@PM2022 Hello! Currently, there are no airport terminals in India larger than Delhi's T1. Delhi's integrated T3, Mumbai's integrated T2 and Hyderabad's integrated terminal are the only other terminals in India with a designed capacity of 40 million passengers. As for future terminals, Navi Mumbai Airport will have a total capacity of 90 million passengers (spread across three terminals), while Noida Airport will have a capacity of 70 million passengers (spread across four terminals).
A lot of people have the perpetual habit of complaining about taxes. This is where our taxes are being spent. We just demand good infrastructure, without realizing that the money to build that infrastructure has to come from somewhere.

Yeah, it is close. The initial design capacity of Bangalore T1 was 22M, but it is now handling 35M. So Delhi T1 with design capacity of 40M would probably be able to handle more in future.
Waiting for someone to cover BOM-IXR route but definitely liked this new terminal 1 finally something good for low-cost carrier airlines flying from and to Delhi !!
