    Change the thumbnail. It's kind of misleading. India's largest domestic terminal. Write this whole thing.

    • @flightTribune
      @flightTribune  หลายเดือนก่อน +24

      You're right that T1 is India's largest domestic terminal. However, it’s also among the largest terminals overall when compared to other major terminals in India, like Hyderabad, Mumbai T2, and Delhi T3, each with a capacity of around 40 million passengers. So, while T1 specializes in domestic flights, it stands out in size among the biggest terminals in the country.

      @@flightTribune Alright, so, is there any terminal in India bigger than this?

    • @flightTribune
      @flightTribune  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @PM2022 Hello! Currently, there are no airport terminals in India larger than Delhi's T1.
      Delhi's integrated T3, Mumbai's integrated T2 and Hyderabad's integrated terminal are the only other terminals in India with a designed capacity of 40 million passengers.
      As for future terminals, Navi Mumbai Airport will have a total capacity of 90 million passengers (spread across three terminals), while Noida Airport will have a capacity of 70 million passengers (spread across four terminals).

    A lot of people have the perpetual habit of complaining about taxes. This is where our taxes are being spent. We just demand good infrastructure, without realizing that the money to build that infrastructure has to come from somewhere.

    BLR T1 handled 35 million passengers in 2019. Now it's domestic only. So it's capacity should be more or less the same as DEL T1 right?

    • @flightTribune

      Yeah, it is close. The initial design capacity of Bangalore T1 was 22M, but it is now handling 35M. So Delhi T1 with design capacity of 40M would probably be able to handle more in future.

      True. We have a long way to catch up to Chinese infrastructure.

    Development is always welcome but the design of this terminal is basic AF and it will start looking outdated with only a few years of operations. BLR new terminal is so much better designed and attractive. One actually feels like spending time there. In this terminal, my motive would be to get to the aircraft as soon as possible.

      Marqee Design in delhi was give to T 3 already and New NOIDA airport will have some good designs. If delhi alreay has so many airport I think its best to keep Productivity in mind for T 1 instead of design.

      @GuzzarAwan the two are not contradictory to each other. Design can be intuitive as well. That's why architects charge millions - they combine aesthetics with practicality. What these guys have made here looks like a glorified railway station. This design doesn't belong to the 21st century.
