What a fun way to make a square! This pattern would also work really well with a variegated yarn - looks like I'm adding this to the library for my next project. Thank you for sharing!
Just want to tell you I enjoy your videos. They have helped me rekindle a love of crochet started with my grandma 50 years ago! Love and appreciate the time and efforts you share! ❤ from Louisville Kentucky
Whoa Nelly! Pull them reins back.😮💨😵💫 This video I will be watching 100 times. What a great tutorial, I’m just learning these crochet ways. I thank you for being patient enough to make this video.❤🙏
It definitely looks more complicated than it is - once you get going, after a few rounds the pattern sort of clicks in your head and then it's plain sailing!
Robin, you are a genius!! This is a great stash buster and so unique! I only wish my brain worked like yours! So glad I can follow you and your great designs!
A lovely pattern. Gets the creative juices flowing. I am astonished by the technique for incorporating the tail of new color into the stitches. Never saw this terrific way to hide and secure tails before . Will be using this starting immediately. Thank you for a great tutorial.
Thanks, Robin! This is so pretty... and another to add to my 'to hook' list. I'm currently midway through shell shawl 6... 7 is next, then some poppies for you. After those? Some sort of square/s ❤
Great square and great tutorial. Starting a temperature blanket and wanted a fresh look, this pattern is it. Can't wait to get started. Thank Robin. I love your channel. I'm a member!!!!!!
Robin years ago I saw this type of crochet and really liked it. The great thing is up until today crochet has been a bit difficult but I followed your instructions today like a pro 😲👍. I have completed swans and jackets and shawls and a hat but still not easily. I think it's age 🤣 79, and persistence 👍. I read that the older brain is more malleable than when we are young 🙄👍. Anyways I love the pattern and already see a lap rug in cotton yarn starting for a granddaughter . Thank you so much for your inspirational crochet videos 👍🙋🏼♀️🌹💖. Blessings and Peace.
A very interesting concept. It certainly keeps you on your toes and makes a change from the regular C2C. I am so glad you did this tutorial as I like C2C and your video gives me another aspect of using it. Thank you so much Robin, you always have something nice for us. Maria 🌷🧶🌷
Good thing you said trust the process in round 2 because I thought…this is very confusing, I could never do this. Still not sure I could. C2C isn’t something I could wrap my head around. This does look so cool, however.
It's definitely the type of pattern that is a head scratcher at first but I found after a few rounds, it clicks and suddenly you just "get it" and you're away!
Hmm this pattern works easiest if you're changing colours each round purely because you restart each row in a different block type than you end on so you'd have to rejoin each time. UNLESS you're feeling up for having a play with the pattern and seeing if you can tweak it to make it work in continuous rounds 😃
@@HookedbyRobinI’ve started this but decided on different colour yarns as not cleaver enough to mess with the pattern. I just hate sewing in ends so thanks for the tip on the joining end…love your channel xxx
Love this, got to try this ….you explain very well, thank you.Would I just slip stitch over to needed place if I’m using a solid color yarn? I’m just learning c2c.
Robin, me again, still watching the video and wondered whether you can keep going round and round to make a square Tv throw. What do you think? Maria 🧶🧶

@MariaMales-k6b you might be able to get it to work without changing colours but I haven't tried experimenting to see if I could get that to work - never say never! 😅
@ Robin, I didn’t say not changing colours, that is what makes this work beautiful. No, keep doing what you are doing in a bigger scale, the size of a tv throw 🧶
Have 2 questions: 1] can it be done in striping yarn and not finishing off after every round? If so, how would I go from 1 round to next? 2] Is each 1st block on each round actually 5 stitches? (Chain3, 3dc, ch3 and slip stitch) where other blocks are-ch 3, 3dc or 3dc, ch3.

i saw a similar square pattern like this. I make blankets for The Boggy Creek children's camps for ill children to experience a camp environment. Several crocheters have made some of your patterns using the size specs we are given. By Febuary a U Haul truck will be loaded with our donated blankets. We hope to fill it with 2,025 blankets and it looks like we will surpass that number. Anyways, could this square be worked up into a big 40in x 40in blanket? Is this a pattern that once you learn making it, it goes faster and faster in making it?

You're late tonight! 😉
Can this be done in rectangular form?
I haven't tried it myself yet but I'd imagine absolutely yes it's doable!
@@HookedbyRobin Do you plan on trying it? How would you suggest to go about it?
Can this be done in one solid color ?
And do it in one continuous round?

Is there a limit to how many rounds you can do? Will it warp or twist?
I've taken mine fairy large with no sign of warping yet! I haven't tested HUGE squares yet though so couldn't guarantee it
But what if we don't need to change colors?

What type of hook are you using? It seems to flow smoothly through all yarns types.
I use Clover Amour hooks :)
