I wasn't sure I wanted a helbrute for my DG before this, but you've convinced me. I'm a little tank shocked by how much utility they can bring. Thanks for the video!
My favorite combo is giving the icon bearer the living plague enhancement with a 10 man of pm's and running him up the board in a rhino. Have the unit climb out and conga line them back towards your objective to come in contact with morty's host of plagues giving them a further 3" to contagion. Pop the icons once per game ability to set that units aura to 12". As per the rules commentary any modifiers are applied after any rules that set an ability to a certain number. So 12" +3+3. You get an 18" aura turn 1 of either -1bs/ws or -1sv. In my experience this usually gives you the momentum to get up the board and get the rest of your army in contagion range.
I was looking at the index just yesterday and noticed this!! It seems like it would be a wonderful way to slap down a midfield contagion range, arguably even encompassing multiple objectives in the midfield. I think you’d wanna run him in a reinforcer unit for sure, just to make sure he has that many more wounds between him and the enemy to keep it up!
@@jarlsunshot5542 every time I've used it it covers up most of the board. Pair it with some preemptive nurglings and you have a pretty mean screen for -2 to hit on most things.

Yeah it can be pretty fun, he turned the tide of a game once when I rapid ingressed them and clogged up the side of the board he'd sent all his tanks down and wasted their time for three turns.
For 180 points, this unit has tied up old one eye and carnixes, to haurespex and hormagaunts. It doesn't do much but tar pit for so cheap, combining the -1 BS/WS with typhus's -1 to hit makes them last so long

Here's another great combo: mortarion + icon bearer and chaos lord with +3" contagion aura enhancement leading a unit of marines in a rhino. Turn one move 12", hop out another 3", activate 12" contagion + 6" from enhancement and mortarion. 18" contagion and chaos lord aura turn 1, goes down to 12" turn 2, and back to 15" turn 3 and on. Massive utility there, main downside is that they might be targeted a lot and marines are a little squishy.
