@texsis2112 the answer from enviiuk is incorrect. You can do the same thing with tomato plants if it has flowers with exerted stigmas. Most of the wild varieties of tomatoes have exerted stigmas including currant tomatoes. Most tomatoes that are grown in the US, heirloom and hybrid have inserted stigmas. These plants just need shaking to facilitate pollination.
You can. However, the male flowers are a lot smaller and it could be quite fiddly, delicate and time consuming! Also not all mango varieties need hand pollination so just make sure to check this! Good luck.

I’ve always taken the male flower off and used it on the female.
It is smarter to take the pollen from a male flower from another plant of the same variety. You get a healthier germplasm.

A female flower might last a day and a half at most. Males seem to stick around for a while. and they open early morning to the afternoon

Unfortunately not! We simply give the tomato plant vines a bit of a shake/tickle. This is great for encouraging pollination. Hope this helps!

easier way is to get a cheap battery operated toothbrush and simulate what a bee does. I do this with tomato plants.
