I was born with a cleft pallet and I was bullied pretty bad but in the end it made me a stronger person and I made friends with one of the main bullies so I can somewhat related

I knew two guys that had a mangled hand, one guy was comfortable with the disability, the other guy lost all his self confidence. his mental suffering lasted so much longer than the physical. it wasn't the hand that made people around him uncomfortable, it was his mental outlook that was hardest to accept. someday I hope you find peace and confidence.

I saw how difficult it was for you, but to make this video and then actually upload it shows your commitment to breaking that last barrier you talked about. You did it. This is true. My disability is my mind. Although great and people see how I'm on the outside. The inside is in hell. My mom was murdered in 92 in her store. That took my best friend away. 3 months after that. I got a divorced. My husband had someone pregnant. So I was a single mom with two babies. As life go's on my daughter would still in school with her dad. My son stayed with me. My daughter would come in the summer to stay. He and her brother was very close. In 2005 my son was shot and killed at my house. I can not tell you what it's like to hold your child With most of his head gone and blood and brain's all over me. So disabled yes my mind is. People don't know the fight I fight every morning I get up. Just trying to be normal. We do have it meny was that people don't see. I'm glad you feel better about yourself for this video. And my help other's.

You know, I had a few different reactions to what you wrote, and I thought hard about how I wanted to encapsulate my feelings toward you. If you want to know, the good it did for me was in helping me unburden some of the worry and frustration I feel in raising a child living with a disability, something which is deeply complex and personal to me. This video gave me a sense of renewed inspiration that there are many people with disabilities that overcome and cope in realistic and powerful ways. Did it undo my son's disability? I have no idea why you think I have a son and not a daughter, but we'll chalk that up to a 50/50 guess, I suppose. No, it did not undo it at all. Did your comment make you feel better? I mean this honestly, because the kind of person that leaves this comment does so for very specific reasons, and I honestly hope that you get what you need out of this. I know how difficult it is to fit in, feel joy, or feel like something matters. In this case, your trolling or honest antagonism for the sake of it makes sense. Life is not a soap opera. I imagine that you might not have children, but that would be an assumption on my part. I also suppose that you have felt pain and anguish in your life, perhaps a great deal of it. So, instead of anger, I respond very kindly and respectfully that the world is full of sorrow; we have a choice to add to it or take some of it away. Your choice is your own.

I've never seen a video of yours before today, and I'm not sure how it landed in my feed, but wow. I watched start to finish, and just out of respect I had to subscribe. I've NEVER commented on a video before -until right now... I've NEVER seen anything posted from you -UNTIL RIGHT NOW. I just wanted you to know that what you DID in this video took more than guts... It was more than just taking the glove off. You let a wall down -even if only briefly, that has masked you your entire life. The exterior of a lion is no match to humility when one is 100% truthful with themselves. This step you took to be BRAVE ENOUGH and RAW ENOUGH -to let others peek into your world, the one you've tried to hide since middle school is more than a WIN if I've ever seen one. Accepting our flaws is the first step to healing our heart. Accepting OURSELVES for WHO WE ARE is truly one of our GREATEST TRIUMPHS. Letting go of all the anger (admittingly or not) we have toward ourselves and those near and dear to us (about how we weren't handed that ace card at birth & life isn't fair), releases a weight off our shoulders, allowing us to FINALLY breath. Silencing all negativity, allowing our mind to be still and bringing a peacefulness to our heart that we've never felt before. There is only one perfect being in this world and it isn't any of us... Being judgemental is a choice made by the weak, those that only see a blurry figure -staring back at them, in the mirror. Toxic individuals can't see themselves for who they truly are and their only success in life is to put others down -essentially sitting upon the high horse, for what they see as a weakness. Their ignorance is not yours to bare. Just do you. Always carry love in your heart for yourself first. Have compassion for everyone you come into contact with -no matter the situation. Be brave. I want you to know that i have mad admiration for you taking charge of yourself and creating this video. I am a pretty accurate judge of character, and even IF I didn't know your wonderful dad, I would still say that I can tell you are a wonderful person. My son sent me your video... 😊 II can relate to your story in so many ways. I was born with Poland Syndrome sequence which involves the right side of my body.. Like you.. I hid my hand for most of my adolescent life quite "successfully".. but.. really it was exhausting to always be vigilantly hiding a part of who I am... and yes.. it effected me in my intimate relationships.. everything I did involved the "cover up" that I felt I needed to do so people wouldn't "see" my defect... I felt flawed and ashamed.. people didn't think that way about me... It was me!! Then one day...😊.. Being so energetically attuned.... I sensed this guy in a restaurant.. we made eye contact.. He felt it too across the room .. I knew before I actually "saw" his hand.. I felt his energy... He was struggling to hide his hand in his pocket just as you described yourself.... I walked up to him.. I reached out my hand and said.. I think you are from my village... and he took his hand out of his pocket and we shook hands... . 😊 we chatted.. it was cool. I'm free.... it's awesome.... good for you for speaking your Truth. ..what I have learned about myself is that... when you get free, you free others just by being in the room.
Hi Chris, I was born without my right hand listening to your story brings back so many bad memories. I was born with a stump even still I got made fun of and picked on. middle school was the worse I have blocked out some much of it that I can't even remember. when we would go anywhere I would always hide it in my pocket my father would make me take it out and told me to never be ashamed of it I was a grown woman when I finally wasn't ashamed anymore I'm now marries with 4 kids and 2 grandkids and I don't even think about it anymore. Be comfortable with yourself people will love you regardless
Middle school was so hard for me too. Kids are mean. I was born with a disability and they always thought my physical difference also meant an intellectual short coming. I turned to alcohol. I'm proud of you for making the video. Continue to get comfortable until one day you will love yourself. ❤

Baby, you are beautiful and have NOTHING to be ashamed of! One of my most hurtful moments happened a few years ago when I was working at Walmart. I am a plus size woman with multiple disabilities that have nothing to do with my weight. But a gentleman saw me in my electric wheelchair and very loudly said, "That's the laziest thing I've ever seen! Why are you in that thing?" I just politely listed the first five diseases I have and asked if I needed to go on. He said, "Well, you just need to get out of that thing and walk." Some people are just idiots but that doesnt make it hurt any less. Every inch of you if beautiful, my friend!

Good for you, brother! I once saw a band with a PHENOMENAL drummer, mad skills. Blew my mind when I noticed his left hand was no more than what's called a "paw". Simply wrapped an ace bandage around it and the stick. He didn't give a shit so saw it. Almost made me sell my drums, how good he was. Rock what ya got, dude!

Im not sure who you are or what you are about (came from reddit). But hearing that you are a motivational speaker, I think this is one of the most inspiring things you could do, its not the buzz words or the big speachs, for alot of people it's seeing you walk the walk. It speaks to people on a deeper level when you tell them something and they can see you are living what you are speaking in spite of obstacles. My 30 year old son just had his left index finger amputated because of a chiseling accident that didn't heal well. we live hours apart and I still have a hard time looking at the pictures he sends me of his healing hand. Congratulations. It takes a hell of a lot of courage to do what you just did. I want to not only salute your nerves of steel for being able to go through it but want to thank you for your share. It wasn't easy to do but there is a reason why you felt the need to do it now, there was a personal need, yes, but somehow, somewhere out there someone needed to hear that to make a sound and rational decision. You were the voice that kept him sane, or strong, to face difficulties ahead. How do 292 people dislike this!? I am saving this video to show my daughter. She just started middle school and she has vitiligo. To this point she’s been fine but after starting school she kept wearing a cardigan to cover her patches on her arm. I noticed and then she decided if she continued to that it would be harder to show her arm later and she stopped. I was proud of her! This is inspirational and I’m so sorry you went through that and teachers, friends, family didn’t encourage you. I really want her to love herself. Thank you!
There is a guy at my gym with a similar disability as Chris and the dude is a man beast who goes stupid hard at the gym. Dude kills it and gives zero fucks about what his forearm and hand looks like because there is no need to worry about that stuff in the first place.
At my local macdonalds there is a girl missing one arm elbow down. I'm so impressed by her mad skills cleaning up around the tables. She is super efficient and uses what she's got creatively. I got nothing but respect for people who doesn't let their disability stop them
I grew up going to school with someone who had just about an identical disability as yours. He was my high school's class president from sophomore year until graduation. Looking back it made me realize, even as hormonal petty high school kids, none of us thought any differently of him because of his hand. If anything we were impressed by how it never held him back. Sure, some people will stare and you may feel judged, but don't assume that judgement is negative. =]
Wow - what a story! I also teared up! It's crazy how sometimes you find kids bullied relentlessly for a disability, and other times you find they have support, like with what happened with your friend, and the great friend you were. My mother was born with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, and couldn't participate in PE or the rough and tumble games the other kids played - if she fell she couldn't even get back up to her feet. But she was never bullied, and her friends rallied around her and helped her if she fell, and her teachers didn't push her to participate in sports (this all happened before she knew what her physical disability was, we just recently found out when I had a genetic study last year. She's in her 70's now). Your story really touched my heart! As well, as Chris's!
I have a disability with my left hand and left leg .... and I had this friend just like you from junior high school to a high school , who never made feel like I was depending on him .... he would have a big backpack complain it's always half full and it doesn't look good .... so he insists to pull all my heavy books all the time from to school and from school to home for six years .... he was friend and my everything.... he never wanted me to thank him or give my gratitude.... I never did . I always wonder where he is.....

When I was young many many many years ago people didn’t wear their seatbelts like today. In fact some cars didn’t even have seatbelts when I was a kid. A Drunk driver hit my parents vehicle. My injuries were so bad it affected my growth plate in my left leg. To this day I am crooked with no shoes on. To this day people call me crooked, what are you picking up, straighten up. Or are you drunk. I don’t drink in fact at my wedding there was no alcohol allowed. I’ve never done drugs in fact I hate them for what they did to my sister. My worst habit is coffee. Lol. My body hurts so much all the time and yet I’m called names even with my shoe with a lift. I’m not gonna sit here and explain my life to every single person but people need to understand to stop opening their mouth or staring. It’s very cruel and very hurtful. Now that I’m older I kind a laugh when people stare and I’ll say do you want to take a picture. It’s all about letting go. You’re doing well. Just take one step at a time.

Love me some drunk drivers. If I get drunk and shoot you with my gun I go to jail. If I get drunk and run you over with a car it's a mistake and I might get a slap on the wrist. I don't own a gun and like yourself there is no alcohol in my life. When I start walking away from my handicap parking space and get dirty looks my favorite line is, "This is what I got from the drunk driver, a happy card for life. He never spent a day in jail." They get that line just for looking. Shuts people right down before i get the, "You don't look handicapped me." Sometimes I say, "What does a handicapped person look like!?! Cause I've had 26 operations and 25 broken bones. I have a friend who had one leg shorter due to a serious accident. After years of lifts etc she opted to have the good leg shortened. Like she says, yes I'm shorter overall but now i can wear pretty shoes.
The stapler story breaks my heart. The stupid (and hateful) things we do can affect others so much. Ugh. I’m sorry you had to deal with that needless shame. You should be really proud of yourself for letting go of the shame. Don’t hide your hand - it only shows your strength and courage even more. And that’s really inspiring.

You might have stepped down from being a role model in your mind, but I think you not only proved that you are one, but you've moved up to hero status. There are those out there that might have needed to hear what you're saying, and this was the push they needed. You're a handsome, nice guy. Nothing to hide, as far as I'm concerned. We happen to be on the cusp of fully fledged Bionic limbs that are controlled by you brain. It may not be too long until you have some pretty awesome options. Clearly you can do anything you want the way you are, but it's pretty awesome to be alive in a time when these options are becoming available.
Seeing things like this I am thankful that my disability is only mental, when I am through a lot of stress or someone actively tries to ruin my life I feel an insaciable need for killing, it’s really hard to control, and I fear that some day I will just do something I won’t be proud of. First off, congratulations on coming to better terms with yourself. As a person that has no fingers on his right hand I feel you. Life can be tough and so can people. I had no idea that you even existed till this video, it's good to see people like us make a life for them self's. I've met so many people like us that are just a husk of a person, but you're a fine example of moving forward and making your own life. So I'd like to thank you. I try to tell everyone I meet that has a disability this, they are the words that I life by "Disability is part of who you are but you don't have to let it define you." I think you exemplify that sentiment.
Dude, you didn't choose to have this disability, so why would you have any responsibility therefore any guilt or feeling bad about it. You didn't choose this disability but you choose your character and attitude towards it. I truely respect your courage and attitude towards it.

I can’t even look at myself in the mirror, but despite what my hands look like, I can drive, hold things, and write. You were never the problem, don’t feel ashamed. As a kid I think it is so painful to be bullied, but there are some individuals that never grow up and continue the bullying and that makes it so difficult for anyone disabled or different to get thru life. I ran across this video by accident..I'll get a bit biblical here. Jesus said...love God, love others, and love yourself. One day (maybe you do already) your disability will be a blessing, a deep, wonderful blessing that will give you strength, hope, love and compassion. Two and a half years aho, I had a stroke, and it became a blessing for me in so many ways. Keep loving, keep living, and keep giving... tough guys may win the battle, strong men win hearts.

Please don't take this negatively, because I have the utmost respect for you for doing this, and I think it's incredibly courageous of you to present this video in the way that you did. That being said, please for the love of everything unique in this world, go all out next Halloween and dress the left side of yourself up as a Zoidberg of Futurama fame. Not only would it just be a cool as hell costume in general, but it could be a seriously positive opportunity to teach not only kids and teens about owning their disabilities, but adults such as yourself. I became a double below and finger amputee at age 11. i hid my hands and legs for years, probably until age 22-23? It's so much work and it consumes every interaction and moment of your day. Congrats on your new lease on life!
I did in my younger years, my first relationship was at 20. But I'm with a wonderful man now who doesn't care about my disability. It was more about me getting over it--no one else seemed to be bothered by it. :)

I totally appreciate your openness. I had a classmate in middle school who had the same situation you do except it was both her hands. I never thought of her as any different than the rest of us. I just wish I might have been sensitive to her life. She might of needed a friend on a deeper level. She was shy but I never realized she might have been suffering inside. Hey Chris, Just discovered you on Mark Bell's channel, just wanted to say to you that I have a friend that has a similar disability (she only has the first phallanx on her fingers) and I know it's hard to cope with this but you're doing great ! You're way stronger than me and you help people, you have nothing to fear from others. Other people are scared to look at themselves so they make fun of others, you just need to know that the people making fun of you are the saddest as they will never improve and move on in life. I have a radial aplasia (or something similar to it. I genuinely can't recall what it's called... Born without a thumb bone.) I've been a musician since I was 14 (26 now). I've played shows in hoodies. I'd do everything I could to hide it. Fortunately, someone in my life helped me grow out of that shame I should have never felt in the first place. Proud of you dude for taking the right steps to even make this video. Living with a disability is not easy or fun.

My brother has the exact same disability that you have and he was born this way! I’ve known him for 18 years of my entire life, he is one of the most respectable guys that you would ever meet. Also, half of his face is paralyzed and throughout his life he never cared about what he looked like and embraced what he had to live with around people at school, his work place, and the public. He never took shit from anyone brotha and I have mad respect for you man, I see that there’s nothing wrong with you and having a hand like that makes me see you no different as a person. :)

If someone is gonna stoop low enough to bully or make fun of you for how you look thats just pretty low and they obviously feel the need to compensate for something themselves so they need to make fun of someone else. I knew two guys that had a mangled hand, one guy was comfortable with the disability, the other guy lost all his self confidence. his mental suffering lasted so much longer than the physical. it wasn't the hand that made people around him uncomfortable, it was his mental outlook that was hardest to accept. someday I hope you find peace and confidence.

This is true. My disability is my mind. Although great and people see how I'm on the outside. The inside is in hell. My mom was murdered in 92 in her store. That took my best friend away. 3 months after that. I got a divorced. My husband had someone pregnant. So I was a single mom with two babies. As life go's on my daughter would still in school with her dad. My son stayed with me. My daughter would come in the summer to stay. He and her brother was very close. In 2005 my son was shot and killed at my house. I can not tell you what it's like to hold your child With most of his head gone and blood and brain's all over me. So disabled yes my mind is. People don't know the fight I fight every morning I get up. Just trying to be normal. We do have it meny was that people don't see. I'm glad you feel better about yourself for this video. You know, I had a few different reactions to what you wrote, and I thought hard about how I wanted to encapsulate my feelings toward you.
If you want to know, the good it did for me was in helping me unburden some of the worry and frustration I feel in raising a child living with a disability, something which is deeply complex and personal to me. This video gave me a sense of renewed inspiration that there are many people with disabilities that overcome and cope in realistic and powerful ways.
Did it undo my son's disability? I have no idea why you think I have a son and not a daughter, but we'll chalk that up to a 50/50 guess, I suppose. No, it did not undo it at all. Did your comment make you feel better? I mean this honestly, because the kind of person that leaves this comment does so for very specific reasons, and I honestly hope that you get what you need out of this. I know how difficult it is to fit in, feel joy, or feel like something matters. In this case, your trolling or honest antagonism for the sake of it makes sense.
Life is not a soap opera. I imagine that you might not have children, but that would be an assumption on my part. I also suppose that you have felt pain and anguish in your life, perhaps a great deal of it. So, instead of anger, I respond very kindly and respectfully that the world is full of sorrow; we have a choice to add to it or take some of it away.

It was more than just taking the glove off. You let a wall down -even if only briefly, that has masked you your entire life. This step you took to be BRAVE ENOUGH and RAW ENOUGH -to let others peek into your world, the one you've tried to hide since middle school is more than a WIN if I've ever seen one. II can relate to your story in so many ways.
I was born with Poland Syndrome sequence which involves the right side of my body.. Like you.. I hid my hand for most of my adolescent life quite "successfully".. but.. really it was exhausting to always be vigilantly hiding a part of who I am... and yes.. it effected me in my intimate relationships.. everything I did involved the "cover up" that I felt I needed to do so people wouldn't "see" my defect... I felt flawed and ashamed.. people didn't think that way about me... It was me!!
Then one day...😊.. Being so energetically attuned.... I sensed this guy in a restaurant.. we made eye contact.. He felt it too across the room .. I knew before I actually "saw" his hand.. I felt his energy... He was struggling to hide his hand in his pocket just as you described yourself.... I walked up to him.. I reached out my hand and said.. I think you are from my village... and he took his hand out of his pocket and we shook hands... . 😊 we chatted.. it was cool.
I'm free.... it's awesome.... good for you for speaking your Truth. ..what I have learned about myself is that... when you get free, you free others just by being in the room.

Hi Chris, I was born without my right hand listening to your story brings back so many bad memories. I was born with a stump even still I got made fun of and picked on. middle school was the worse I have blocked out some much of it that I can't even remember. when we would go anywhere I would always hide it in my pocket my father would make me take it out and told me to never be ashamed of it I was a grown woman when I finally wasn't ashamed anymore I'm now marries with 4 kids and 2 grandkids and I don't even think about it anymore. Be comfortable with yourself people will love you regardless

Baby, you are beautiful and have NOTHING to be ashamed of! One of my most hurtful moments happened a few years ago when I was working at Walmart. I am a plus size woman with multiple disabilities that have nothing to do with my weight. But a gentleman saw me in my electric wheelchair and very loudly said, "That's the laziest thing I've ever seen! Why are you in that thing?" I just politely listed the first five diseases I have and asked if I needed to go on. He said, "Well, you just need to get out of that thing and walk." Some people are just idiots but that doesnt make it hurt any less. Every inch of you if beautiful, my friend!

I am saving this video to show my daughter. She just started middle school and she has vitiligo. To this point she’s been fine but after starting school she kept wearing a cardigan to cover her patches on her arm. I noticed and then she decided if she continued to that it would be harder to show her arm later and she stopped. I was proud of her! This is inspirational and I’m so sorry you went through that and teachers, friends, family didn’t encourage you. I really want her to love herself. Thank you!

There is a guy at my gym with a similar disability as Chris and the dude is a man beast who goes stupid hard at the gym. Dude kills it and gives zero fucks about what his forearm and hand looks like because there is no need to worry about that stuff in the first place.
At my local macdonalds there is a girl missing one arm elbow down. I'm so impressed by her mad skills cleaning up around the tables. She is super efficient and uses what she's got creatively. I got nothing but respect for people who doesn't let their disability stop them

I grew up going to school with someone who had just about an identical disability as yours. He was my high school's class president from sophomore year until graduation. Looking back it made me realize, even as hormonal petty high school kids, none of us thought any differently of him because of his hand. If anything we were impressed by how it never held him back. Sure, some people will stare and you may feel judged, but don't assume that judgement is negative. =]

Wow - what a story! I also teared up! It's crazy how sometimes you find kids bullied relentlessly for a disability, and other times you find they have support, like with what happened with your friend, and the great friend you were. My mother was born with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, and couldn't participate in PE or the rough and tumble games the other kids played - if she fell she couldn't even get back up to her feet. But she was never bullied, and her friends rallied around her and helped her if she fell, and her teachers didn't push her to participate in sports (this all happened before she knew what her physical disability was, we just recently found out when I had a genetic study last year. She's in her 70's now). Your story really touched my heart! As well, as Chris's!

I never did . I always wonder where he is.....

When I was young many many many years ago people didn’t wear their seatbelts like today. In fact some cars didn’t even have seatbelts when I was a kid. A Drunk driver hit my parents vehicle. My injuries were so bad it affected my growth plate in my left leg. To this day I am crooked with no shoes on. To this day people call me crooked, what are you picking up, straighten up. Or are you drunk. I don’t drink in fact at my wedding there was no alcohol allowed. I’ve never done drugs in fact I hate them for what they did to my sister. My worst habit is coffee. Lol. My body hurts so much all the time and yet I’m called names even with my shoe with a lift. I’m not gonna sit here and explain my life to every single person but people need to understand to stop opening their mouth or staring. It’s very cruel and very hurtful. Now that I’m older I kind a laugh when people stare and I’ll say do you want to take a picture. It’s all about letting go. You’re doing well. Just take one step at a time.

Love me some drunk drivers. If I get drunk and shoot you with my gun I go to jail. If I get drunk and run you over with a car it's a mistake and I might get a slap on the wrist. I don't own a gun and like yourself there is no alcohol in my life. When I start walking away from my handicap parking space and get dirty looks my favorite line is, "This is what I got from the drunk driver, a happy card for life. He never spent a day in jail." They get that line just for looking. Shuts people right down before i get the, "You don't look handicapped me." Sometimes I say, "What does a handicapped person look like!?! Cause I've had 26 operations and 25 broken bones. I have a friend who had one leg shorter due to a serious accident. After years of lifts etc she opted to have the good leg shortened. Like she says, yes I'm shorter overall but now i can wear pretty shoes.

You might have stepped down from being a role model in your mind, but I think you not only proved that you are one, but you've moved up to hero status. There are those out there that might have needed to hear what you're saying, and this was the push they needed. You're a handsome, nice guy. Nothing to hide, as far as I'm concerned. We happen to be on the cusp of fully fledged Bionic limbs that are controlled by you brain. It may not be too long until you have some pretty awesome options. Clearly you can do anything you want the way you are, but it's pretty awesome to be alive in a time when these options are becoming available.

First off, congratulations on coming to better terms with yourself. As a person that has no fingers on his right hand I feel you. Life can be tough and so can people. I had no idea that you even existed till this video, it's good to see people like us make a life for them self's. As a kid I think it is so painful to be bullied, but there are some individuals that never grow up and continue the bullying and that makes it so difficult for anyone disabled or different to get thru life. You seem to be a very together guy strong and beautiful inside and out. Stay strong, you are not alone!

I admire your courage to come out of the glove. My son was born without his right hand. He’s only two years old and I always want him to be proud and accept how god created him. It’s people like you that can set a great example for him and many others who also hide behind the glove. Keep doing what you are doing I believe this will open up so many opportunities for you to keep inspiring other to be comfortable and accept themselves for who they are.
I ran across this video by accident..I'll get a bit biblical here. Jesus said...love God, love others, and love yourself. One day (maybe you do already) your disability will be a blessing, a deep, wonderful blessing that will give you strength, hope, love and compassion. Two and a half years aho, I had a stroke, and it became a blessing for me in so many ways. Keep loving, keep living, and keep giving... tough guys may win the battle, strong men win hearts.

Please don't take this negatively, because I have the utmost respect for you for doing this, and I think it's incredibly courageous of you to present this video in the way that you did. That being said, please for the love of everything unique in this world, go all out next Halloween and dress the left side of yourself up as a Zoidberg of Futurama fame. Not only would it just be a cool as hell costume in general, but it could be a seriously positive opportunity to teach not only kids and teens about owning their disabilities, but adults such as yourself. I'm glad that you are showing all of who you are! There were two guys that had farm accidents that caused them to look like you and I accepted it. You are you and you don't have to hide your hand like you have any more.

I became a double below and finger amputee at age 11. i hid my hands and legs for years, probably until age 22-23? It's so much work and it consumes every interaction and moment of your day. Congrats on your new lease on life!

I did in my younger years, my first relationship was at 20. But I'm with a wonderful man now who doesn't care about my disability. It was more about me getting over it--no one else seemed to be bothered by it. :)

Samantha Dunne No worries. I had bacterial meningitis. Very scary disease! Most survivors lose more than I did so I consider myself lucky.

I totally appreciate your openness. I had a classmate in middle school who had the same situation you do except it was both her hands. I never thought of her as any different than the rest of us. I just wish I might have been sensitive to her life. She might of needed a friend on a deeper level. She was shy but I never realized she might have been suffering inside. Thank you for making me more aware

Just discovered you on Mark Bell's channel, just wanted to say to you that I have a friend that has a similar disability (she only has the first phallanx on her fingers) and I know it's hard to cope with this but you're doing great ! You're way stronger than me and you help people, you have nothing to fear from others. Other people are scared to look at themselves so they make fun of others, you just need to know that the people making fun of you are the saddest as they will never improve and move on in life.
Anyway just learned about you today but I wanted to show my support, keep improving.

I have a radial aplasia (or something similar to it. I genuinely can't recall what it's called... Born without a thumb bone.) I've been a musician since I was 14 (26 now). I've played shows in hoodies. I'd do everything I could to hide it. Fortunately, someone in my life helped me grow out of that shame I should have never felt in the first place. Proud of you dude for taking the right steps to even make this video. Living with a disability is not easy or fun.

My brother has the exact same disability that you have and he was born this way! I’ve known him for 18 years of my entire life, he is one of the most respectable guys that you would ever meet. Also, half of his face is paralyzed and throughout his life he never cared about what he looked like and embraced what he had to live with around people at school, his work place, and the public. He never took shit from anyone brotha and I have mad respect for you man, I see that there’s nothing wrong with you and having a hand like that makes me see you no different as a person. :)
bro, screw what anyone else thinks about how you look. If someone is gonna stoop low enough to bully or make fun of you for how you look thats just pretty low and they obviously feel the need to compensate for something themselves so they need to make fun of someone else. Like you said its not something you asked for or wanted but it is something you have no choice but to live with and adapt to it and make it work for you and if anyone else sees that and has a problem with that screw them. Im pretty sure you are accomplishing more with a disability then they are without one.
