Thank you very much, Mikes. Valuable information that can only help. I especially appreciate the arsenal and the "know your sequencing" tips. That is where I have always struggled the most at the Open. I end up in the ball change abyss almost every year and you simply cannot shoot your best scores when it takes a half game to figure out an adjustment.
Very nice! Short and to the point. Especially like the ball arsenal discussion, that is something most league bowlers struggle with, and take too many hook monsters. Oh, and what great form Coach!
i went to reno the first year it opened. i cant remember exactly but the first game i had a 253 or a 257. as it turned out every game(9 games)was over 200. i never bowled like that before. that's the only national i was part of and even tho theres no cussing, drinking, or smoking and no hats, plus collared shirts only, it was a blast. i thought the state tournament was fun, but the national tournament knocked me over like a head pin!

The first day was the team event and we were against a team from Carson city called Horse Shit. We blew them away. I left out a lot of other stuff to save time ,and now i have to go dig out pictures and relive all the events that were captured on film now that you got me going lol . Peace out.
Thank you for making this video. In regards to the arsenal you mention a symmetric shiny and a symmetric shiny Pearl. I am going to take a Phaze 4 as my symmetric shiny Pearl. What are some examples of symmetric shiny?
Thanks for the question Johnny. There are lots of choices so I'd suggest going to the manufacturer's websites to see their lists of symmetrical balls. One of my favorite symmetrical balls is the IQ Tour made by Storm. Thanks for watching and good luck at Nationals!!
Great info. Regarding the arsenal, would this recommendation extend beyond the open pattern to sport patterns in general? Or was this recommendation specific to the open? Thanks!
Hey Don. This would apply to any tournament you are going to that has a flatter (harder) condition that is unpublished before competing. Thanks for watching.
Mike, what do you do if you can’t slide. I am very rev dominant and I fell off balance every shot but on 6 shots in the first game I had to put my hand down on the floor to prevent falling. I have 3G Tour Ultra’s and even have my own slides that I made and just could not slide. I ended up just walking up and throwing the ball at half speed and I struggled miserably. I haven’t bowled the open in over 10 years and never had this problem before.
I know this is a year old but there is a thing you can get and apply on your sole to make it slippery- you just pat the pouch a couple of times for the powder to get on, but be careful putting too much

Thanks Dave! Glad you got something from it.
My spare rating is 83% and I average 220. This is for 4 weeks. I just subscribed.
Excellent. I start the same way when I am off for a long time.....with one step approaches to get me going then on until I am comfortable.
This guy is great.

What is lowest lb. weight any here use for spare ball? Any use child type weight? Just wondering.
I was surprised Mike had only 1 asym ball in the arsenal.

@@alyssasowell774 powder is a violation of the rules unless you wipe it off. I ended up using a slide sock which helped some.
Love the walk through the arsenal.
You forgot to mention this was for mostly higher avg bowlers, most people can’t afford $1000 worth of equipment.
Wait, what? It's important to smack the bottom of my shoe after my shot? Why?
