*PROTIP* for anyone installing a bottom mount turbo. Split the turbo feed line in 2 parts with a short accessible line (1ft line from turbo -> union -> 3ft from oil pressure source) . Tightening or loosening that line in the car sucks major wang.
The #1 EGT has an ungrounded thermocouple, whereas the other cylinders are grounded. The wires of the grounded thermocouples are bonded to the sheathing. Grounded could lead to noise but I'm sure the CANEGT has some type of filter to account for this. I spend too much time dealing with instrumentation.
Reminds me of what BMW did back in Formula One with Brabham. Took an iron black 4 banger and stuck a big turbo on it. I think it made 1500 bhp in qualifying trim.
Mike, Good job centering the tips of the EGTs in the port. If you are mounting this manifold (SS TS) onto an M54 head, the EGTS need to sit further into the port to clear the head casting. Port #6 turns down into the flange, and you need to run the EGT further down in the compression fitting than ports #1 to #5. Cheers, PEI330Ci
Has this motor been re-torqued already the only reason I ask is because I see you have our RTV on your valve cover gasket… we wait to add the RTV during the Retorquing of the cut ring head gasket… Edit: nvm I heard what you said at the end
Wait, this was you guys posting in the boosted e46 group the other day? I wanted to say awesome build but I'm kinda in FB jail right now. Killer work. Hit me up sometime I'm looking to get some special parts for my turbo e36 sedan build.
I really enjoy these videos. Please keep the content coming!!! Did the CES manifold come with that heat shielding on it? If not, where do you get it and how do you install it?

Just a question what throttle body I can use to upgrade on my 2000 328i or do I need to do the ms43 conversion?
Turbo only oil cooled? little confused how to set up my turbo for water cooling as well
That spray man, come on
Didn't know about the CES turbo manifold. Do those also fit M54s?
yes they do, all M5X based motors

Thanks! It’s by headershield so you send it in and they microweld it on
