Turbo BMW M52 Gets a DCT Swap

- In todays episode of the turbo M52 build we mate the engine and a BMW 7-speed DCT transmission together using the ADAMAT adapter kit featuring the super-important sprung hub flywheel. This is available in the link below in our online store. This kit also removes the need for any welding on the transmission to adapt it, like the old kit required.

The sprung hub is important as it dampens the power pulses/harmonics the engine send through the transmission. The DCT transmission s are very sensitive to these are they have a intricate clutch basket. This basket can hold over 100hp but is sensitive to certain things like this.

I'm only missing the shifter, Yaw sensor plug, and Fly wheel. I have everything else sitting her waiting for the end of the race season.

So the sprung hub flywheel is basically a dual mass flywheel?
yes very similar, just without the added weight of the second mass.
Is there a certain year or from a certain model of car that is best?
not really, inline 6 versions are the smallest and easiest to fit but the internals are all the same
I just thought of saving the e31 8 series chassi with the DcT swap! Does one of your existing kits work on that v12 or v8?
Yes we have made these adapters before, just not stocked, but can be made to order
I just bought an e39 528i m52 and I would like to get a single turbo on it but it will be useless since the gearbox is so shitty and slow, can you guys tell me the process and the price of changing it with the dct? I'm not a really big fan of manual gearbox on big cars , it just doesn t feel right🤷🏻♂️
or is there any other way to improve the actual gearbox?
