This is mostly dependent on the market Sophistication.
If people are less sophisticated they will not care about a mechanism rather only outcome.
But when you have a market that has been seeing a similar message constantly > they naturally get their Sophistication level up, they are educated :) Thus in order to be believable you need a mechanism.
    Great video Eric!

Outcome based has worked well for me when my market is familiar or already uses my solution. When they're new to what I'm selling, there's a natural skepticism which mechanisms diminish

So, I now just reflexively save every video you make without even thinking within the first 20 seconds. You’ve formed this habit in me.

Love this video Eric, one thing to note here as well:
When only the outcome is mentioned without the mechanism, it triggers the reader to want to know how, therefore raising their hand and asking a question and shooting a reply over.
Then what happens is that you actually have the chance to tweak the mechanism/make it more personal to them when they respond.
Overall, imo it's a win win to have no mechanism because 1- triggers reply, curiosity and questions = replies. 2- you get the chance to tell them about your mechanism in a customized way once they reply.
Of course, sometimes if market sophistication is very high and you have some sort of cool process or way of doing things, it would be worth testing it for sure.

Interesting take Eric. A lot of people make promises on outcomes. Sometimes people want to know how. It builds trust. Also maybe you stand out because everyone is selling the vacation. I think a short sequence with outcome, the method, proof could work. I will test this and let you know

Yeah totally agree. I was thinking about ‘some offers don’t work through cold email’ the other day - & it’s like, how is that so?
If you have customers and you have case studies of giving value to those customers then to me that means there’s demand somewhere and that’s box ticked that your offer will work through cold email. It’s the intangibles around it that need working out.
See - we work in the video industry which is a notoriously long sales process. Were capturing demand & The way we send cold email will be different to how a software company sends cold email. We’re very much about sparking relationships and being in it for the long term for when they have a project potentially months down the line - relying on consistent touch points after the initial email.
Software companies are usually let’s take a specific feature we know these people need and generate demand for that feature from the email and get free trial sign ups fast
Thats my take personally - all offers work but it’s just about understanding the approach

This is super useful Eric. Ig it could also depend on the person you are reaching out to in a company. Say I'm talking to the lead engineer or someone of the sort, the mechanism would work well. Maybe to the founder or someone else, the benefit could entice them enough to have a discussion with others in the team?

Do you use mailmeteor's spam checker? It says words like "LEGAL loophole" and "financial" are spam filter triggers. Do you avoid those words or just don't care about them? Another one is "free" as in "Feel free to reach out"... Do you avoid that word in that phrase as well?

Might be about market Sophistication levels and the rising skepticism of people. people make such crazy claims without any actual experience or backup that people start looking for clues of competence (which comes from showing the process, explaining the details, giving constructive advice)

Eric, do you find that the more unusual/unique the email is (Super specific to them with multiple variables) = the higher the response rate?
I feel that due to the amount of cold emails people receive, the more it DOESN'T look like a mass cold email, the better the response rate? AKA more humanized gets more replies
