it's true thta it's about them and also to give an inspiration to other listener. they sacrifice a lot just to pursue they're dream and just to make other people happy. they have been through a lot and I'm one off the people who will support them no matter what.

As for the effects you've heard, Kevin told about it in an interview about this new album: “For example, if you hear, ‘The Lucky Ones,’ you’ll hear some effects on our voices that makes it more reverberant and in a way that we have never done before,” Olusola says. “That’s something that we’ve always wanted to try, and it felt like these producers made us feel comfortable in trying those different effects.”
I hadn’t thought of applying this to getting thru a year of the worldwide tragedy that has been COVID, staying connected and seeing ourselves as lucky for it. Interesting! Thx for that insight! :)

Their harmonies almost always contain just a tiny bit of dissonance which always add complexity to the song and then makes the normal harmonies feel even more beautiful.

I think they are using this as their video because they have now posted it on their TH-cam with the normal white letter start. Because of COVID they couldn't actually be live, and it is super well produced like a music video. (After I typed this, you caught it as a video too. Haha)
I agree with that train of thought with the heavily produced video, but I question that they would make an official video from a live recording vs. the studio recording. I can't recall them doing that before. Tbh, I was hoping for a "journey" type video for this song showing clips from the trio in HS thru The Sing Off and up to today. It might be useless, but I'm still holding out hope. 🤞 lol

The show is "Jimmy Kimmel Live". They were not supposed to be there live. They recorded "Amazing Grace" for Kelly Clarkson's show last year during the pandemic.

It is such a good song that it could apply to so many things. Some have said that it represents the year 2020. We are "the lucky ones" to have survived it. With the variety of styles they have covered in the past it's hard to say that any song isn't their style. The bass was on point though.

I'm not exactly sure when they recorded the vocals for this. Several of the songs for the new album were finished before the pandemic began, but I don't know if this one was or not. They put the new album on the shelf when the pandemic began and recorded the At Home and We Need a Little Christmas albums recording each part separately, then went back and finished this new album.
