KM Patriot same here I lost my boyfriend 2 months ago due to a fire at my house along with our fur babies. I miss him so much but I know we will be together again and I do believe we can still get married in afterlife and heaven it’s just a different word and way then it is here and I know it’s way better. I'm wrestling with some of this as expected. But the love and motives behind marriage is right and true that swedenborg is saying. And it is a great thing and beautiful to be married to one person and truly love them. Marriage is obviously a big deal to the Lord. And the bible does say that when a married couple has intercourse u become one. Weather u agree with Swedenborg 100% I believe he loved God and was a good Christian man from what I know about him. Its hard for me to read so many comments of anger and hatred. How bout we love the Lord and live it and be that shining city on a hill.

@@MidnightHero64 we will definitely have spouses on the New Earth and New Heavens. The view of heaven that many Christians hold is becoming a reality today. Christians believe that in heaven we will be genderless and we see that today with people claiming to be non-binary and even others claiming to be non-human. Most Christians believe that on the New Earth there will be no childbearing and yet complain that same sex couples can't have children and that it's an abomination, and want to quote scripture where God said "be fruitful and multiply," and what's funny about that is God told humans to multiply and be fruitful in a perfect world, even in a sinful word He has still allowed us the ability to multiply, what makes you think in another perfect would that He will take that away from us? There are Christians that believe that in the New Earth there will be no intimacy, and yet complain when their SO refuses them for a night. We were made for relationships, to be fruitful and multiply, male and female, God and man having dominion over the world. Being married to Christ is not literal it's symbolic, and a metaphor of the intimacy and closeness that we have to Him and how He sees us.
I truly believe that God does intervene depending on your true intention of having some. I had been married twice and was single again. I had been into several relationships that I really got just tired of what I was doing. I would go out to dances and I remember asking God for someone that would love me, care for me and also for me love them. I wanted to fall in love with there inner beauty and that the outer beauty would not matter to me. I remember asking in my mind for someone to love me and that I didn't want to care if he's fat, bald, old, or what ever else. Well I had been working at a company for about 11 year and never notice some there until the company was moving to a different location. I met Julian but I was not interested in him he was not my type and too young, too short, for me. Well guess what we have been married 16 years already and he is the most wonderful man. My Heavenly Father does intervene and I believe only if you are truly sincere in asking. Yes I was hard headed in the beginning and did not love him but I have fallen in love, which is the most wonderful life God has given me. Yes I did make mistakes and yes I did treat him bad but my Heavenly Father was patient with me he opened my eyes to see the beauty of this man name Julian

Thank you for this...there is more depth than is experienced in much of life today. People around me in grief groups sit and talk about "the end." But for me, I don't even say the "D" word, using rather "transition" to describe my ever ongoing eternal relationship...And to hear that marriage exists additional to husband and wife to many realms in life. This makes so much sense as it resonates to the very core of the Spiritual heart...And as Jordan says "The Payoff is Incredible..."
The work of Swedenborg and that of the SF is and has been a Godsend for me. When I sit down to read one of the books or listen to these discussions, I am often consumed by every word, concept, example, explanation, and a debridement of negativity that takes place in my heart, mind, soul and spirit. I'm glad knowing this. My husband and I were only married for 3 years, we didn't have children. I feel that our relationship was cut short by his passing. I feel like i have unfulfilled mission. But it his his time to exit earth and i cannot prevent that. We love each other so much. I only hope there's reincarnation where we both have the free will to live in flesh again and till death do we part. Only death set us apart but i know we will be reunited. Hi, I don't usually respond cuz it sounds like I know what I'm talking about..:). But what comes to mind is that words like " death" or " heaven" applies to the eternal realm. Eternity tho stands beyond time. So there is no such " waiting". This eternal then is "now". Time is simply the way the human mind..and brain materializes the eternal. So what I'd say then is don't worry. You never really lost your love. You are together here and now. It's possible to not believe it but to know it...to experience the eternal within. It's beyond thought, it's pure consciousness. Anyway the loneliness and feeling of loss can be intense. I truly almost died of what was called " broken heart syndrome". There is no time in the afterlife, so the wait will not seem long and grueling for your soul mate there in the spiritual world as it does for you on earth. Please don't worry at all about this. As of now, I’m convinced that there is no one out there capable of loving me. Every time I have loved, no one has loved me in return, and It’s always ended in severe heartbreak. How do I know God really has someone for me who is capable of loving me, and who will love me unconditionally?
Makena, my heart aches for you, such a lot of pain to hold! I'm sure right now you feel like giving up, and it's so hard to see the light. I am so sorry for your pain, and unfortunately, sometimes in life you just have to TRUST that things will work out, even when it doesn't look that way. You are wonderful, you are loved, and you are WORTHY of love! Never doubt that! Hold strong to that because that will help navigate you to the person who would NEVER break your heart. Don't settle for anything less. All I know is that looking back at my own life, I can see that my own heartbreaking experiences all led me to become the person I needed to be. I learned so much from those experiences, and it was definitely painful, but it also made me stronger. I learned what kind of a person I can be with - and what kind of a person I could not help or could not help me. Eventually I found a partner who I knew I could create a life with. I wouldn't have had that confidence without the heartbreak that came before, and I wouldn't have the sense of commitment I have now if I didn't have a sense of what else is out there. I wish I had more to offer you, but sometimes it's just a leap of faith. You know in your heart that you're worth loving, and that you deserve someone who knows it too! Just don't let go of that idea. Also, whether we have a partner or not, we can always find ways to love ourselves and love others. While you wait for the Right One to show up, what can you do to make yourself happy, and make your life meaningful? just read Heaven and Hell, it changed everything for me. My beloved mum passed away recently. The chapter on the transition to eternal life really moved me and I was very emotional reading it. I will just begin with this.....the last words my husband said to me as he was nearing the final step of his physical to afterlife transition were "Let's Make a Love Affair.".....I took that as a second proposal.....we kissed the confirmation "Yes" and breathed 3 breaths together. I’ve got a question. So my boyfriend of 3 yrs passed away last year, we never got married but I feel we have a spiritual marriage. And I am certain he is my soulmate and I am his. Is his soul still a part of mine? I believe love never dies and he will always be a part of me. Does his spirit dwell on me like mine does to his? And why does it seem so common for soulmates to be separated?
I'm so very sorry for your loss. If you two felt a deep connection, as you describe, then I'm sure your spirits are still connected, and you can continue your relationship as a spiritual marriage in the afterlife. I think the cases of soulmates being separated early is not more common than the cases of soulmates who spend a long life on earth together, but I think the cases of early separation are very noticeable because of how painful it is. My heart goes out to you, and I wish you strength and healing. I'm so glad that you believe that your boyfriend, and his love for you, are still alive and well. You two will have a beautiful reunion someday!

I don't believe that God gives one an earthly family to only then separate households at death. Never came across this ministry until this moment, but have come across the quotes in the past of the man mentioned in this video of Mr. Swedenborg. My church believes that families can be together forever! As Swedenborg mentions in his own writings. I had an ex boyfriend whom I dated for a few months before we broke up. And even after we broke up, I never fell out of love with him even though I decided it was best we not be together since his dream was to be in the military and my nightmare was to be an army wife. Anyway, he passed away over ten years ago and I still love him as much as I loved him when we first met. I know deep down he is my soul mate. I lost my beloved husband Chris in 2021 to covid. Quick, unexpected and horrible. He was 58 and the love of my life/ I only had 10 years with him. He was so full of life, rode bullet bikes, wheelies, fast cars, and a hard working career man. I was raised Catholic and of course taught we aren't married after death. This tore me up. I have since moved from this faith to a more Christian faith. I pray this is true!

People have been making claims of seeing and hearing god for centuries. What makes this mans claims any different? It seems to me like people are suffering loneliness and Jesus. Christ doesn’t care. I believe we _will_ be able to procreate still, because in the Bible God tells Abraham he will make his descendants more numerous than the stars of heaven. This hasn't happened yet, and if we can't procreate I fail to see _how_ this can be fulfilled. Any thoughts anybody?

Well if you look in Genesis throughout in multiple places, but specially in Genesis 22 God tells Abraham that his progeny will be as the number of stars in heaven and shall inherit the land of their enemies. To my knowledge and understanding, neither of these things have happened yet so this seems a clear prophecy _far_ into the future beyond Jesus's return. Clearly God is suggesting an innumerable amount of people, whom I believe will go out to populate even the heavens. For this reason, I _do_ believe that we will still be able to procreate. Also, we should remember that the fallen angels were created divine, but after coming to the Earth were able to procreate with human women, something I find strange if divine beings do not possess this ability. Finally, when Jesus appeared in his glorified body, nothing appeared out of place from a natural, normal person. Though he had the ability to appear at will and disappear, he had all the normal function as we have and even ate a meal. All of these combined seem suggest there will still be reproduction into eternity to me, and since I cannot find anything in scripture saying otherwise (only that we will not _marry_ something explained simply by the fact we are eternal, not temporary beings) I have to assume that is the most likely conclusion. Any thoughts or perspective on this? Obviously it is a very curious subject and we may simply not know until the time comes. Thank you.
Let me pose this thought to you, bizzwoofer. If after physical death, everyone continues to live to eternity in the afterlife, then is not the same constant increase happening simply by all the people that continue to get born on earth and then cross into the afterlife? Without any procreating going on in the afterlife? Think of all the people there from the very beginning of humanity on this planet being there still, and hundreds or thousands of babies getting born on earth every single day. That really adds up to an unfathomable amount of people!
offTheLeftE yes of course, there will be a _new_ heaven and a new Earth at the end of the 1000 year reign and God is infinite but the fact remains that I don't think we have seen this verse fulfilled and I find it hard to imagine how it would be if glorified bodies can't procreate. The answer is yes, it is a huge number (though not as many as you may think considering the exponential nature of population growth and the fact that the vast majority of people who have lived will experience Hell, not their new bodies on Earth) but the number of stars in heaven is astronomical also.

I don't doubt you're spouse's love you. just know that the reasons they choose to take their life had nothing to do with you. I believe that what happened is other more negative force's worked and fed off your loved ones personal issues in order to cause suffering and pain to not only him but to those he loved the most. however I'm sure he's got a better understanding of himself now, and I'm sure there are things he wants you to know. but most importantly, he'd want you to know that you need to heal. And he I'm sure understands that you'll do this at you're own pace. but remember him in his best and not the pain that was caused. focusing on the actual tragedy vs, missing them can leave you open to spiritual warfare. with this, it allows those beings that consumed you're spouse's thoughts to not only cheer for their accomplishment in destroying your spouse's strength, but also allows them to now feed on those most rocked by the loss. I lost my little brother six mom ago and we were so close that my name is tattooed on his arm. we loved each other so much that I knew he was going to die two weeks before he did. so my brother and I told each other how great our love was for each other, but I warned him that two years earlier I came into contact with a dark being who attacked me. it's a long story. Anyhow, I knew that because I practice blocking negative entities, they struck back hard. when that didn't hurt me, I knew they'd go after my loved ones. now the thing is, I only have maybe five people close to me, and of the five only one was valuable to their destruction, which would be a direct result of my refusal to be intimidated. I knew instantly who they'd kill. it would be my brother, so that day I begged them to leave him alone! now my brother wasn't susceptible because he had a weak heart. no no no. in fact, though he battled his emotions, he was very strong, and wanted the greater good for everyone. so why was he a target? unfortunately he happened to live in an area where demographically the inhabitants are very spiritually weak. they almost all have addictions, desire to harm another human and enough emotional pain and unawareness to feed an army of bad entities. my brother was like none of these people. to spiritually sound. well two weeks after I gave him a warning on Facebook that I knew he would be killed and that I needed him to leave the area now, my brother told me I was worrying about nothing. his cousin gunned him down in his apartment where he was babysitting a relative's child. my brother asked his cousin to at least not kill him in front of the kid. unfortunately his cousin who was already an easy vessel for these being, was overtaken by rage and the desire to kill that he killed my brother in front of the kid anyways. why did he do it? he wanted to Rob my brother. the messed up part is they grew up together in the same house like brothers. after he gunned my brother down, he suddenly came to his senses and freaked out calling 911. on the arrival of the paramedics and the police, he turned himself in, but before he did my brother gave one last act of pure love. my brother while still alive told the police it was an accident, and he didn't mean to do it. later the cousin admitted his reasons, which validates that my brother understand he was lost inside and didn't want to see him spend the rest of his life behind bars. my brother died later that night. And after his death I had visitations. he on the other side could see the forces that be. he could see that there were entities who enjoyed my pain because it was created by their action. my brother made it very clear that he was ok, and that me hurting over his death is giving them what they want. I no longer feel the Dred I did thanks to my brother's guidance. now when I cry it's not driven by pain and anger, but love and happiness that in the end my brother graduated from life as we know it to something much more amazing. Yes, priyanka. Sorry for that confusion! I guess some people might take that phrase as the next life in a series of lifetimes, reincarnation-style. But we're not talking about reincarnation. Swedenborg learned that we are on earth once, and that our "next life" is the one that commences upon our physical death, when we fully enter the spiritual realm. The afterlife!
In the spiritual world we will be connected with the partner we share true love with. It is this love that creates spiritual union and allows us to experience tremendous joy for eternity. That being said, I cannot say which person that is for you, only that you will be with whomever that is in the afterlife. Swedenborg wrote that while true marriage love can exist among couples, it is rare these days, and many don't necessarily find their true match until the next life!

Spiritual Marriages, I love 💕 your talking about marriage in heaven. When my husband and I said our vows, it was till death do us part. Well, recently my husband went into eternity without me..after 41 years and we shall see if our love 💕 will continue in Eternity. But, this sounds very interesting of what your saying. Yes-- marriage is an expression of 2 people that have commited themselves to one another, and share a deep, loving bond. The quality of that bond is what lasts to eternity-- and it is not about the paperwork that labels the marriage as such.
Hi Curtis. Been following your videos lately and am intrigued by Swedenborgs writings as they almost align with my personal beliefs in God, Jesus and spirits uniting. I have some questions though. What if there is a situation where someone married based on restrictions? So for example, someone had an arranged marriage not by choice where the assumption is the love would build up but isn’t always the case or a marriage by choice that turned out rocky over time, didn’t end in divorce say due to a child being in the middle but there started being doubts about that person being the soulmate. What could happen in the afterlife? Would these two drift apart and then find their true soulmate because in the afterlife there are no restrictions like from parents who say “you have to marry in your social class” or “you have to marry in your heritage?” And what if my spouse has a different faith (say I am catholic believing the notion of everlasting life but she believes in reincarnation and doesn’t see our souls continuing in the afterlife)?
Important questions, juan. And so interesting to know that Swedenborg seems to align with some of your own beliefs! As for marriage, Swedenborg says there IS marriage in heaven, but not all earthly marriages become eternal partnerships. He learned that people who were married on earth do meet again after death, and if they can/want to stay together, they do. Otherwise, they move on and find their true partner. It seems that both partners will be clear about it. And yes, Swedenborg talks about the importance of shared spiritual values, but I imagine there are many ways that those things can be worked out in a marriage of genuine married love. Trying to be the best spouse you can be in this world will contribute to your marriage in the next life, whether it is with your current spouse or another spouse provided by the Lord. I am wondering since once we die we keep growing,learning and changing how will we stay with the one we're support to be with? The wife and I have been together close to 24 years. We've been snipey and snippey at each other. One or the other goes for a walk before it goes full blown doggin' and cattin' but it's only a matter of time. She's sick of me and I feel the same way. Just keep trying to move forward and pray for better times to come. So will we out grow or change so much that our soul mate will get like this????
Ya know, Jay, I'm not exactly sure how it will all work! Swedenborg paints the picture of an eternal partnership, based on shared core loves. In our limited brains with finite conceptions, it's hard to imagine how eternal growth meshes with eternal commitment. For myself, I hand it off to my belief in an all-loving and all-knowing God, guiding both parties every step of the way. I do think it will be easier without the weight of various worldly concerns (in Biblical terms, what shall we eat, and what shall we drink, and how shall we be clothed?), but I suppose their will be "evening states," when things aren't quite as rosy as they are at sunrise. I guess we'll always come back to a love and concern that is central to our being, and shake off temporary states of frustration or whatever. But I'm just guessing here. What do you think?

Well, it's hopeful but at the same time, not, if you're a childless person like me. I can't see any reason why people denied children on this earth would not be allowed to have them in heaven. If heaven is the redemption of all things, if there's even the chance of sex and soul mates, as this video says, then I refuse to believe that the sex wouldn't or couldn't produce children. Saying that is like saying those who are childless are the *only* people who won't be restored and healed in heaven. Yes, the lame will walk and the blind will see and ...... the childless will still be childless? No. If that's really what happens, then a whole faction of society will see themselves remain eternally unhealed and unfulfilled in an area that all the parents of the world take for granted. Will the childless stand on the sidelines and watch all the parents and children reunite without ever having something like that for themselves? I refuse to believe that. I'm hoping for more.
trayra1 I am with you. I am 49 years old and have still never been married or had a steady boyfriend and don't know if I ever will be married. I now live on an alpaca ranch in Colorado where people with developmental disabilities live because I have Asperger's syndrome and my mental state was starting to get very bad. I can no longer come and go whenever I want like I did when I lived in my own apartments, so my chances of meeting that special someone are even lower now than they ever were before which makes me hope I will find someone special in Heaven, if it never does happen for me on Earth.
trayra, please don't worry about that. In heaven, anyone who wanted to have children but didn't on earth will have the joy of taking care of babies and children, and feeling as much love as if they were their own. Swedenborg reported seeing babies and children who had died being tenderly cared for by angel mothers. Just as people on earth who adopt can feel fulfilled as parents, so can people who have their first parenting experience in heaven.
Karen, you will most certainly find a loving partner in the afterlife if you have not found one by the end of earthly life. And you will most certainly be giving the experience of parenthood too, if you want it, by taking care of those who die as babies or children. Every angel mother that Swedenborg saw taking care of these little ones felt just as much love for the children as if they were their own.
It is because in heaven being a baby or child corrosponds to how evolved a souls mind is. To have offspring is like having the mindset of the animals...that is the lower mind instead of the higher mind. Here in the physical we bare offspring like dogs, cats, pigs etc

As this video says, everyone is married in heaven with a fitting and loving partner. You may or may not have known that person in this world. You may have been married, or not, in this world. Swedenborg learned that people who had been married here get together again (unless it would be harmful to do so, I assume), and if they want to stay together, they do -- otherwise, they move on and find their true partner. God and angels are guiding the process for everyone's best outcome and highest happiness!
The bible clearly says that there is no marriage in heaven. Even in the marriage vows it says 'until death do us part'. Obviously strong bonds remain in the afterlife.

The flesh no longer exists, so physical copulation is not possible. Its talking about spiritual not physical. Physical copulation is of the animal kingdom and flesh cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Not true we will have resurrected body's. We're not just going to be ghosts or spirits without physical body's. That's actually a heretical doctrine called Gnosticism. The idea that the physical is somehow evil is a western concept. The Eastern church never subscribed to.
The physical goes back to dirt. The "body" that steps out could be compared to solid ice that took the form of the container it was in. How long it remains a solid depends on the personality itself. Some souls still want to do what they did in life, but lack a physical body to do so, therefore they posses the living so they can continue to do what they like.

Swedenborg learned that it is true, we won't have physical bodies any more. But he witnessed that we will have spiritual bodies, that are substantial and real. And spiritual bodies can be used to express intimate love between married partners. It is a symbol of the union of their hearts and minds.

I’m new to all this I just lost my fiancé a month ago, one of the first things he ever told when were just seeing each other that he believed we were soulmates, we talked about it so much we connected so much and we’re madly in love. He passed away unexpectedly and tragically. We wanted to marry but we didn’t need a paper we felt as if we already were. For some reason we talked about death the day before he passed he told me he wasn’t afraid off death and I told him I was. He doesn't use a term like that, Soul Love, as far as I can remember. But he does talk about the importance of similar values to keep a marriage strong. In the old translations, the words were "similitudes" and "dissimilitudes," and that dissimilitudes prevented true marriage from being possible. One of the deepest of those, he learned, was a difference in how people hold the concept of God and religion. Due to personal reasons I have to stay single, since I have obligations in this world to my family and I can't risk jeopardizing it just because of a glance of a temporary beauty, since this world is full of deceptions one after the other. However, I always dream of someday meeting my future spouse in Heaven. I want my spouse to be exactly how I imagined all my life since I have a clear picture of her in my head and not just in my head but in virtual images aswell. Also I want to have a relationship of 100% truth and love and in this world such achievement is not possible, and in Heaven it is. It will be someone who has also lived a life on earth, going through experiences and learning and growing. It is not someone who is perfect, but someone, like you, who is a real person and needs love and understanding. God knows better than we do who would best help us to learn how to love and to grow, so it is good to trust that God will lead us to someone who will best open our hearts in a deep way!

So if you were married to multiple partners and you know that there is no connection with one or more of them. Do you still have to stay with them. I know who I want to be with. It's all I think of.
It's all about usefulness, Clifford -- if there is anything to be worked out between a pair, they will come together to work it out. If not, perhaps there will be no "spiritual magnetism" to draw them together. Does that make sense?

If you want to stay with a particular spouse are you able to adjust your god and truth attributes to match your spouse's so that you stay in harmony with your spouse thus stay together?
An interesting question, Clifford? There is all kinds of growth and learning in the spiritual world, and I think of it as a kind of ongoing revelation about what is genuinely true and good, and how our deepest self responds to that. The way our heart responds will be the main determiner of where we are, so if your heart is in harmony with your spouse's, you'll be together! It's something you can't fake, but a genuine alignment of hearts and minds will keep a couple together. That's how I understand it, anyway!

Curtis, what about the fact that it is preached by Ministers, in churches, quoting the Bible, (I haven't read that part myself), that we have to marry & stay married, even if it's a bad marraige. And yet people coming back from after-life never are condemned for anything to do with being married or not.
Anne Goldie, that breaks my heart. No one should stay in a bad marriage that they can't fix - especially where there is abuse or other horrible things. Our channel is based on the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg, who long ago -- as far out as it seems -- made the claim that he was given these experiences so that people would know what it's all about. He wrote many volumes explaining what he saw and revealing the inner meaning of the Bible. Many of these type of confusing teachings come as a result of misunderstood Scripture - ideas that were not meant to be taken literally. In my years of exposure to these ideas, I've had the sense that it is an individual journey in the world of spirits, where we learn the truth about God and ourselves and sort of make our final choices about a spiritual destination. Once we've been "sorted" like this, we'll come in contact with any partners we may have had to determine the right fit. I think of that part happening in heaven, so that once they've come to their spiritual home and find each other, they stay together as a duo. Swedenborg says that from a distance, a happily married couple appears as one angel -- that sounds pretty together!
Hello, Ned! I don't think anyone on our team has direct experience reading "A Course in Miracles," but we have heard from people who find some parallels between that and Swedenborg's writings. What do you think of it?
I have found that many of the principles in the "course" resonate true. The basic problem I have is that some tend to make it their religion instead of just using the teachings to grow internally which in turn over time manifests itself in our outward behavior. Still a fan though. I'm just starting to examine Swedenborg and his teaching. My faith tradition is LDS and I find that many teachings ring true from a internal perspective.

Hi Josué -- Of course we don't know the firm answers to all these questions, but we can tell you in general about what Swedenborg learned in his spiritual travels in heaven. I don't know about meeting a soulmate "straight away." Swedenborg talks about how we all have to go through a kind of adjustment/education time when we enter the spiritual world. We'll have the chance to really take a look at ourselves, discover who we truly want to be, and shed anything that isn't part of our true selves. This is a process, and I imagine that you wouldn't meet soul mates until you are finished with that process and completely clear about who you are/ what your deepest loves and motivations are. Swedenborg says that in the other world, partners meet "as if by chance," and have the immediate sense that they belong to each other. Wow! So it sounds like nobody will TELL you, you'll just KNOW! And because the spiritual world doesn't operate according to measurements of time as we know it, I can't really answer your last question -- but in God's time and love and wisdom, it will all work out just right for everyone. Hey Curtis, you mentioned doing a show on gay marriage. I would really love this ,seeing as I am bisexual and have a lot of questions about how this will pan out for me in the afterlife if I chose a partner of the same gender. Additionally, as I have told you I am transgender. My religious family tells me that I will end up being the gender that I was born as on earth in the afterlife. I find this troubling because I feel more connected to the gender that I am becoming and I personally believe there is a spiritual journey tied to why I feel this way. I doubt transgender people were a common occurrence during Swedenborg's time, so I'm sure he never makes any direct commentary on this specific of a topic. But I was wondering if you ever get around to doing a show on gay marriage if you could include anything that Swedenborg says that might provide insight on transgender issues. KM Patriot same here I lost my boyfriend 2 months ago due to a fire at my house along with our fur babies. I miss him so much but I know we will be together again and I do believe we can still get married in afterlife and heaven it’s just a different word and way then it is here and I know it’s way better. I'm wrestling with some of this as expected. But the love and motives behind marriage is right and true that swedenborg is saying. And it is a great thing and beautiful to be married to one person and truly love them. Marriage is obviously a big deal to the Lord. And the bible does say that when a married couple has intercourse u become one. Weather u agree with Swedenborg 100% I believe he loved God and was a good Christian man from what I know about him. Its hard for me to read so many comments of anger and hatred. How bout we love the Lord and live it and be that shining city on a hill.

@@MidnightHero64 we will definitely have spouses on the New Earth and New Heavens. The view of heaven that many Christians hold is becoming a reality today. Christians believe that in heaven we will be genderless and we see that today with people claiming to be non-binary and even others claiming to be non-human. Most Christians believe that on the New Earth there will be no childbearing and yet complain that same sex couples can't have children and that it's an abomination, and want to quote scripture where God said "be fruitful and multiply," and what's funny about that is God told humans to multiply and be fruitful in a perfect world, even in a sinful word He has still allowed us the ability to multiply, what makes you think in another perfect would that He will take that away from us? There are Christians that believe that in the New Earth there will be no intimacy, and yet complain when their SO refuses them for a night. We were made for relationships, to be fruitful and multiply, male and female, God and man having dominion over the world. Being married to Christ is not literal it's symbolic, and a metaphor of the intimacy and closeness that we have to Him and how He sees us.

I truly believe that God does intervene depending on your true intention of having some. I had been married twice and was single again. I had been into several relationships that I really got just tired of what I was doing. I would go out to dances and I remember asking God for someone that would love me, care for me and also for me love them. I wanted to fall in love with there inner beauty and that the outer beauty would not matter to me. I remember asking in my mind for someone to love me and that I didn't want to care if he's fat, bald, old, or what ever else. Well I had been working at a company for about 11 year and never notice some there until the company was moving to a different location. I met Julian but I was not interested in him he was not my type and too young, too short, for me. Well guess what we have been married 16 years already and he is the most wonderful man. My Heavenly Father does intervene and I believe only if you are truly sincere in asking. Yes I was hard headed in the beginning and did not love him but I have fallen in love, which is the most wonderful life God has given me. Yes I did make mistakes and yes I did treat him bad but my Heavenly Father was patient with me he opened my eyes to see the beauty of this man name Julian

Thank you for this...there is more depth than is experienced in much of life today. People around me in grief groups sit and talk about "the end." But for me, I don't even say the "D" word, using rather "transition" to describe my ever ongoing eternal relationship...And to hear that marriage exists additional to husband and wife to many realms in life. The work of Swedenborg and that of the SF is and has been a Godsend for me. When I sit down to read one of the books or listen to these discussions, I am often consumed by every word, concept, example, explanation, and a debridement of negativity that takes place in my heart, mind, soul and spirit. I feel a transformation taking place, and I crave this love of goodness and truth daily. It is simply an amazing thing.

I'm glad knowing this. My husband and I were only married for 3 years, we didn't have children. I feel that our relationship was cut short by his passing. I feel like i have unfulfilled mission. But it his his time to exit earth and i cannot prevent that. We love each other so much. I only hope there's reincarnation where we both have the free will to live in flesh again and till death do we part. Only death set us apart but i know we will be reunited. No one really knows what happens afterlife.
Michelle, my heart goes out to you for the loss of your husband. It is lovely to see that you still hold your love for each other as present tense. Hi, I don't usually respond cuz it sounds like I know what I'm talking about..:). But what comes to mind is that words like " death" or " heaven" applies to the eternal realm. Eternity tho stands beyond time. So there is no such " waiting". This eternal then is "now". Time is simply the way the human mind..and brain materializes the eternal. So what I'd say then is don't worry. You never really lost your love. You are together here and now. It's possible to not believe it but to know it...to experience the eternal within. It's beyond thought, it's pure consciousness. Anyway the loneliness and feeling of loss can be intense. I truly almost died of what was called " broken heart syndrome". Going through the loss and grief opens doors...to the eternal. Sending peace and love my friend

I found my soul mate and we always had unconditional love and completed each other and he felt home to me. But he passed away at the age of 30 and I dont care to wait to be with him but with him being taken so early will he wait for me all this time ??

As of now, I’m convinced that there is no one out there capable of loving me. Every time I have loved, no one has loved me in return, and It’s always ended in severe heartbreak. How do I know God really has someone for me who is capable of loving me, and who will love me unconditionally?
Makena, my heart aches for you, such a lot of pain to hold! I'm sure right now you feel like giving up, and it's so hard to see the light. I am so sorry for your pain, and unfortunately, sometimes in life you just have to TRUST that things will work out, even when it doesn't look that way.
You are wonderful, you are loved, and you are WORTHY of love! Never doubt that! Hold strong to that because that will help navigate you to the person who would NEVER break your heart. Don't settle for anything less.
All I know is that looking back at my own life, I can see that my own heartbreaking experiences all led me to become the person I needed to be.
I learned so much from those experiences, and it was definitely painful, but it also made me stronger. I learned what kind of a person I can be with - and what kind of a person I could not help or could not help me. Eventually I found a partner who I knew I could create a life with.
I wouldn't have had that confidence without the heartbreak that came before, and I wouldn't have the sense of commitment I have now if I didn't have a sense of what else is out there.
I wish I had more to offer you, but sometimes it's just a leap of faith. You know in your heart that you're worth loving, and that you deserve someone who knows it too! Just don't let go of that idea.
Also, whether we have a partner or not, we can always find ways to love ourselves and love others. While you wait for the Right One to show up, what can you do to make yourself happy, and make your life meaningful? Are there things you love to do, friends you want to see more, that can help you work on the YOU you want to be?

just read Heaven and Hell, it changed everything for me. My beloved mum passed away recently. The chapter on the transition to eternal life really moved me and I was very emotional reading it. I’ve got a question. So my boyfriend of 3 yrs passed away last year, we never got married but I feel we have a spiritual marriage. And I am certain he is my soulmate and I am his. Is his soul still a part of mine? I believe love never dies and he will always be a part of me. Does his spirit dwell on me like mine does to his? And why does it seem so common for soulmates to be separated?

If you two felt a deep connection, as you describe, then I'm sure your spirits are still connected, and you can continue your relationship as a spiritual marriage in the afterlife. I think the cases of soulmates being separated early is not more common than the cases of soulmates who spend a long life on earth together, but I think the cases of early separation are very noticeable because of how painful it is. I had an ex boyfriend whom I dated for a few months before we broke up. And even after we broke up, I never fell out of love with him even though I decided it was best we not be together since his dream was to be in the military and my nightmare was to be an army wife.

I lost my beloved husband Chris in 2021 to covid. Quick, unexpected and horrible. He was 58 and the love of my life/ I only had 10 years with him. He was so full of life, rode bullet bikes, wheelies, fast cars, and a hard working career man. I was raised Catholic and of course taught we aren't married after death. This tore me up. I have since moved from this faith to a more Christian faith. I pray this is true!

It may help for a while, but the sadness would most likely come back. I believe we _will_ be able to procreate still, because in the Bible God tells Abraham he will make his descendants more numerous than the stars of heaven. This hasn't happened yet, and if we can't procreate I fail to see _how_ this can be fulfilled. Any thoughts anybody?
Hi there! Can you specify your question for me? Are you inquiring about procreation here on earth, or in the spiritual world?

Well if you look in Genesis throughout in multiple places, but specially in Genesis 22 God tells Abraham that his progeny will be as the number of stars in heaven and shall inherit the land of their enemies. To my knowledge and understanding, neither of these things have happened yet so this seems a clear prophecy _far_ into the future beyond Jesus's return. Clearly God is suggesting an innumerable amount of people, whom I believe will go out to populate even the heavens. For this reason, I _do_ believe that we will still be able to procreate. Also, we should remember that the fallen angels were created divine, but after coming to the Earth were able to procreate with human women, something I find strange if divine beings do not possess this ability. Finally, when Jesus appeared in his glorified body, nothing appeared out of place from a natural, normal person. Though he had the ability to appear at will and disappear, he had all the normal function as we have and even ate a meal. All of these combined seem suggest there will still be reproduction into eternity to me, and since I cannot find anything in scripture saying otherwise (only that we will not _marry_ something explained simply by the fact we are eternal, not temporary beings) I have to assume that is the most likely conclusion. Any thoughts or perspective on this? Obviously it is a very curious subject and we may simply not know until the time comes. Thank you.
Let me pose this thought to you, bizzwoofer. If after physical death, everyone continues to live to eternity in the afterlife, then is not the same constant increase happening simply by all the people that continue to get born on earth and then cross into the afterlife? Without any procreating going on in the afterlife? Think of all the people there from the very beginning of humanity on this planet being there still, and hundreds or thousands of babies getting born on earth every single day. That really adds up to an unfathomable amount of people!
offTheLeftE yes of course, there will be a _new_ heaven and a new Earth at the end of the 1000 year reign and God is infinite but the fact remains that I don't think we have seen this verse fulfilled and I find it hard to imagine how it would be if glorified bodies can't procreate. The answer is yes, it is a huge number (though not as many as you may think considering the exponential nature of population growth and the fact that the vast majority of people who have lived will experience Hell, not their new bodies on Earth) but the number of stars in heaven is astronomical also.
We can't effectively discuss this until you realize where we're coming from concerning the Biblical predictions of End Times and the Last Judgment. I am just coming out of a marriage with what turned out to be a con man. I was so very committed and in love with a man who led multiple lives. I gave so much to this relationship, to find out it wasn’t real was devastating. Is there a chance for me to find love again?

Kristy England Hi Kirsty I faced the exact same sad thing recently and I too have not been able to move on. No one has been able to tell me why this tragedy of suicide happened. I am utterly bereft and miserable at the unrequited love due to my boyfriend's early demise. No one I meet equals him and it's almost a year now since he died. it's been sheer agony. I feel we should have been together and what happened proves this world is a type of hell designed to deny ones happiness.
Deanna Goldston hey I just wanted to say that one I'm terribly sorry this has happened to you. I don't doubt you're spouse's love you. just know that the reasons they choose to take their life had nothing to do with you. I believe that what happened is other more negative force's worked and fed off your loved ones personal issues in order to cause suffering and pain to not only him but to those he loved the most. however I'm sure he's got a better understanding of himself now, and I'm sure there are things he wants you to know. but most importantly, he'd want you to know that you need to heal. And he I'm sure understands that you'll do this at you're own pace. but remember him in his best and not the pain that was caused. focusing on the actual tragedy vs, missing them can leave you open to spiritual warfare. with this, it allows those beings that consumed you're spouse's thoughts to not only cheer for their accomplishment in destroying your spouse's strength, but also allows them to now feed on those most rocked by the loss. I lost my little brother six mom ago and we were so close that my name is tattooed on his arm. we loved each other so much that I knew he was going to die two weeks before he did. so my brother and I told each other how great our love was for each other, but I warned him that two years earlier I came into contact with a dark being who attacked me. it's a long story. Anyhow, I knew that because I practice blocking negative entities, they struck back hard. when that didn't hurt me, I knew they'd go after my loved ones. now the thing is, I only have maybe five people close to me, and of the five only one was valuable to their destruction, which would be a direct result of my refusal to be intimidated. I knew instantly who they'd kill. it would be my brother, so that day I begged them to leave him alone! now my brother wasn't susceptible because he had a weak heart. no no no. in fact, though he battled his emotions, he was very strong, and wanted the greater good for everyone. so why was he a target? unfortunately he happened to live in an area where demographically the inhabitants are very spiritually weak. they almost all have addictions, desire to harm another human and enough emotional pain and unawareness to feed an army of bad entities. my brother was like none of these people. to spiritually sound. well two weeks after I gave him a warning on Facebook that I knew he would be killed and that I needed him to leave the area now, my brother told me I was worrying about nothing. his cousin gunned him down in his apartment where he was babysitting a relative's child. my brother asked his cousin to at least not kill him in front of the kid. unfortunately his cousin who was already an easy vessel for these being, was overtaken by rage and the desire to kill that he killed my brother in front of the kid anyways. why did he do it? he wanted to Rob my brother. the messed up part is they grew up together in the same house like brothers. after he gunned my brother down, he suddenly came to his senses and freaked out calling 911. on the arrival of the paramedics and the police, he turned himself in, but before he did my brother gave one last act of pure love. my brother while still alive told the police it was an accident, and he didn't mean to do it. later the cousin admitted his reasons, which validates that my brother understand he was lost inside and didn't want to see him spend the rest of his life behind bars. my brother died later that night. And after his death I had visitations. he on the other side could see the forces that be. he could see that there were entities who enjoyed my pain because it was created by their action. my brother made it very clear that he was ok, and that me hurting over his death is giving them what they want. I no longer feel the Dred I did thanks to my brother's guidance. now when I cry it's not driven by pain and anger, but love and happiness that in the end my brother graduated from life as we know it to something much more amazing. I'm sorry for the long story. I hope it helps. much peace and love my dear. I love you even though I don't know you.

Yes, priyanka. Sorry for that confusion! I guess some people might take that phrase as the next life in a series of lifetimes, reincarnation-style. But we're not talking about reincarnation. Swedenborg learned that we are on earth once, and that our "next life" is the one that commences upon our physical death, when we fully enter the spiritual realm. The afterlife!

In the spiritual world we will be connected with the partner we share true love with. It is this love that creates spiritual union and allows us to experience tremendous joy for eternity. That being said, I cannot say which person that is for you, only that you will be with whomever that is in the afterlife. Swedenborg wrote that while true marriage love can exist among couples, it is rare these days, and many don't necessarily find their true match until the next life!

Well, recently my husband went into eternity without me..after 41 years and we shall see if our love 💕 will continue in Eternity. But, this sounds very interesting of what your saying. I took a deep breath, when he was passing, I wanted to remember his smell and it was very difficult to see him leave. I had our daughter take a picture and it looked like he was coming out his flesh body right above my head. The cloudiness figure came out in the picture right above my head in the hospital room. I am glad he is no longer suffering but, we miss him terribly.

Yes-- marriage is an expression of 2 people that have commited themselves to one another, and share a deep, loving bond. The quality of that bond is what lasts to eternity-- and it is not about the paperwork that labels the marriage as such.
Hi Curtis. Been following your videos lately and am intrigued by Swedenborgs writings as they almost align with my personal beliefs in God, Jesus and spirits uniting. I have some questions though. What if there is a situation where someone married based on restrictions? So for example, someone had an arranged marriage not by choice where the assumption is the love would build up but isn’t always the case or a marriage by choice that turned out rocky over time, didn’t end in divorce say due to a child being in the middle but there started being doubts about that person being the soulmate. What could happen in the afterlife? Would these two drift apart and then find their true soulmate because in the afterlife there are no restrictions like from parents who say “you have to marry in your social class” or “you have to marry in your heritage?” And what if my spouse has a different faith (say I am catholic believing the notion of everlasting life but she believes in reincarnation and doesn’t see our souls continuing in the afterlife)?
Important questions, juan. And so interesting to know that Swedenborg seems to align with some of your own beliefs! As for marriage, Swedenborg says there IS marriage in heaven, but not all earthly marriages become eternal partnerships. He learned that people who were married on earth do meet again after death, and if they can/want to stay together, they do. Otherwise, they move on and find their true partner. It seems that both partners will be clear about it. And yes, Swedenborg talks about the importance of shared spiritual values, but I imagine there are many ways that those things can be worked out in a marriage of genuine married love. Trying to be the best spouse you can be in this world will contribute to your marriage in the next life, whether it is with your current spouse or another spouse provided by the Lord.

The wife and I have been together close to 24 years. We've been snipey and snippey at each other. Ya know, Jay, I'm not exactly sure how it will all work! Swedenborg paints the picture of an eternal partnership, based on shared core loves. In our limited brains with finite conceptions, it's hard to imagine how eternal growth meshes with eternal commitment. For myself, I hand it off to my belief in an all-loving and all-knowing God, guiding both parties every step of the way. I do think it will be easier without the weight of various worldly concerns (in Biblical terms, what shall we eat, and what shall we drink, and how shall we be clothed?), but I suppose their will be "evening states," when things aren't quite as rosy as they are at sunrise. I guess we'll always come back to a love and concern that is central to our being, and shake off temporary states of frustration or whatever. But I'm just guessing here. What do you think?

Well, it's hopeful but at the same time, not, if you're a childless person like me. I can't see any reason why people denied children on this earth would not be allowed to have them in heaven. If heaven is the redemption of all things, if there's even the chance of sex and soul mates, as this video says, then I refuse to believe that the sex wouldn't or couldn't produce children. Saying that is like saying those who are childless are the *only* people who won't be restored and healed in heaven. Yes, the lame will walk and the blind will see and ...... the childless will still be childless? No. If that's really what happens, then a whole faction of society will see themselves remain eternally unhealed and unfulfilled in an area that all the parents of the world take for granted. Will the childless stand on the sidelines and watch all the parents and children reunite without ever having something like that for themselves? I refuse to believe that. I'm hoping for more.
trayra1 I am with you. I am 49 years old and have still never been married or had a steady boyfriend and don't know if I ever will be married. I now live on an alpaca ranch in Colorado where people with developmental disabilities live because I have Asperger's syndrome and my mental state was starting to get very bad. I can no longer come and go whenever I want like I did when I lived in my own apartments, so my chances of meeting that special someone are even lower now than they ever were before which makes me hope I will find someone special in Heaven, if it never does happen for me on Earth.
trayra, please don't worry about that. In heaven, anyone who wanted to have children but didn't on earth will have the joy of taking care of babies and children, and feeling as much love as if they were their own. Swedenborg reported seeing babies and children who had died being tenderly cared for by angel mothers. Just as people on earth who adopt can feel fulfilled as parents, so can people who have their first parenting experience in heaven.
Karen, you will most certainly find a loving partner in the afterlife if you have not found one by the end of earthly life. And you will most certainly be giving the experience of parenthood too, if you want it, by taking care of those who die as babies or children. Every angel mother that Swedenborg saw taking care of these little ones felt just as much love for the children as if they were their own.

Whtat if you didn't get married in the physical world, but you loved each other so mucch? What happens to people who get divorced here on earth and they love someone else?
As this video says, everyone is married in heaven with a fitting and loving partner. You may or may not have known that person in this world. You may have been married, or not, in this world. Swedenborg learned that people who had been married here get together again (unless it would be harmful to do so, I assume), and if they want to stay together, they do -- otherwise, they move on and find their true partner. God and angels are guiding the process for everyone's best outcome and highest happiness!
The bible clearly says that there is no marriage in heaven. Even in the marriage vows it says 'until death do us part'.
Obviously strong bonds remain in the afterlife.

What on earth are you talking about? My comment above is a quote from scripture where Jesus says there is no marriage in heaven. I said in a comment prior to posting that quote that clearly there are strong bonds in heaven. However there is no marriage. I think I'll take Jesus' word on that.
The flesh no longer exists, so physical copulation is not possible. Its talking about spiritual not physical. Physical copulation is of the animal kingdom and flesh cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Not true we will have resurrected body's. We're not just going to be ghosts or spirits without physical body's. That's actually a heretical doctrine called Gnosticism.
The idea that the physical is somehow evil is a western concept. The Eastern church never subscribed to.
The physical goes back to dirt. The "body" that steps out could be compared to solid ice that took the form of the container it was in. How long it remains a solid depends on the personality itself. Some souls still want to do what they did in life, but lack a physical body to do so, therefore they posses the living so they can continue to do what they like.
Foster Caldaroni a resurrected physical body will be male and female as one, in one body type. In actuality we are now but few realize it. "Let Thine EYE Be Single"
Swedenborg learned that it is true, we won't have physical bodies any more. But he witnessed that we will have spiritual bodies, that are substantial and real. And spiritual bodies can be used to express intimate love between married partners. It is a symbol of the union of their hearts and minds.

Hi! I’m new to all this I just lost my fiancé a month ago, one of the first things he ever told when were just seeing each other that he believed we were soulmates, we talked about it so much we connected so much and we’re madly in love. He passed away unexpectedly and tragically. We wanted to marry but we didn’t need a paper we felt as if we already were. For some reason we talked about death the day before he passed he told me he wasn’t afraid off death and I told him I was. Does Swedenborg talk at all about the concept of being "unequally yoked" (or a similar concept) and, if so, what does he say about that ??
He doesn't use a term like that, Soul Love, as far as I can remember. But he does talk about the importance of similar values to keep a marriage strong. In the old translations, the words were "similitudes" and "dissimilitudes," and that dissimilitudes prevented true marriage from being possible. One of the deepest of those, he learned, was a difference in how people hold the concept of God and religion. You could go to newchristianbiblestudy.org and enter "dissimilitudes" in the search bar and see what comes up!

Due to personal reasons I have to stay single, since I have obligations in this world to my family and I can't risk jeopardizing it just because of a glance of a temporary beauty, since this world is full of deceptions one after the other. However, I always dream of someday meeting my future spouse in Heaven. I want my spouse to be exactly how I imagined all my life since I have a clear picture of her in my head and not just in my head but in virtual images aswell. Also I want to have a relationship of 100% truth and love and in this world such achievement is not possible, and in Heaven it is. My biggest question is this, based on the Emmanuel Swedenborg theories and books, can God Almighty create the girl I envisioned and prayed during all my lifetime, making her 100% real?

It will be someone who has also lived a life on earth, going through experiences and learning and growing. It is not someone who is perfect, but someone, like you, who is a real person and needs love and understanding. God knows better than we do who would best help us to learn how to love and to grow, so it is good to trust that God will lead us to someone who will best open our hearts in a deep way!

It's all about usefulness, Clifford -- if there is anything to be worked out between a pair, they will come together to work it out. If not, perhaps there will be no "spiritual magnetism" to draw them together. Does that make sense?

If you want to stay with a particular spouse are you able to adjust your god and truth attributes to match your spouse's so that you stay in harmony with your spouse thus stay together?
An interesting question, Clifford? There is all kinds of growth and learning in the spiritual world, and I think of it as a kind of ongoing revelation about what is genuinely true and good, and how our deepest self responds to that. The way our heart responds will be the main determiner of where we are, so if your heart is in harmony with your spouse's, you'll be together! It's something you can't fake, but a genuine alignment of hearts and minds will keep a couple together. That's how I understand it, anyway!

Curtis, what about the fact that it is preached by Ministers, in churches, quoting the Bible, (I haven't read that part myself), that we have to marry & stay married, even if it's a bad marraige. And yet people coming back from after-life never are condemned for anything to do with being married or not.
Anne Goldie, that breaks my heart. No one should stay in a bad marriage that they can't fix - especially where there is abuse or other horrible things. Our channel is based on the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg, who long ago -- as far out as it seems -- made the claim that he was given these experiences so that people would know what it's all about. He wrote many volumes explaining what he saw and revealing the inner meaning of the Bible. Many of these type of confusing teachings come as a result of misunderstood Scripture - ideas that were not meant to be taken literally. I believe forcing people to stick with a tragic or dysfunctional marriage for some ideal is one of those serious misunderstandings. Swedenborg wrote that a true marriage is when two people wish to "do the other every good," and that he or she should wish to "feel the joy of another as joy in oneself." In other words - make your partner happy and love them, because it will bring YOU happiness and love. How many marriages actually achieve this? How many even try to? We can strive for this but both partners need to be on board!

Interesting video! I wonder what happens if one person is more spiritually ready to move towards and/or upwards to a heavenly level, leaving the other behind possibly in the world of spirits? Or is their growth always done as a duo?
Hi jillian -- thanks for the question! In my years of exposure to these ideas, I've had the sense that it is an individual journey in the world of spirits, where we learn the truth about God and ourselves and sort of make our final choices about a spiritual destination. Once we've been "sorted" like this, we'll come in contact with any partners we may have had to determine the right fit. I think of that part happening in heaven, so that once they've come to their spiritual home and find each other, they stay together as a duo. Swedenborg says that from a distance, a happily married couple appears as one angel -- that sounds pretty together!

What do you think about "A Course in Miracles?"
Hello, Ned! I don't think anyone on our team has direct experience reading "A Course in Miracles," but we have heard from people who find some parallels between that and Swedenborg's writings. What do you think of it?
I have found that many of the principles in the "course" resonate true. The basic problem I have is that some tend to make it their religion instead of just using the teachings to grow internally which in turn over time manifests itself in our outward behavior. Still a fan though.
I'm just starting to examine Swedenborg and his teaching.
My faith tradition is LDS and I find that many teachings ring true from a internal perspective.

Hi Josué -- Of course we don't know the firm answers to all these questions, but we can tell you in general about what Swedenborg learned in his spiritual travels in heaven.
I don't know about meeting a soulmate "straight away." Swedenborg talks about how we all have to go through a kind of adjustment/education time when we enter the spiritual world. We'll have the chance to really take a look at ourselves, discover who we truly want to be, and shed anything that isn't part of our true selves. This is a process, and I imagine that you wouldn't meet soul mates until you are finished with that process and completely clear about who you are/ what your deepest loves and motivations are.
Swedenborg says that in the other world, partners meet "as if by chance," and have the immediate sense that they belong to each other. Wow! So it sounds like nobody will TELL you, you'll just KNOW!
And because the spiritual world doesn't operate according to measurements of time as we know it, I can't really answer your last question -- but in God's time and love and wisdom, it will all work out just right for everyone.

Hey Curtis, you mentioned doing a show on gay marriage. I would really love this ,seeing as I am bisexual and have a lot of questions about how this will pan out for me in the afterlife if I chose a partner of the same gender. Additionally, as I have told you I am transgender. My religious family tells me that I will end up being the gender that I was born as on earth in the afterlife. I find this troubling because I feel more connected to the gender that I am becoming and I personally believe there is a spiritual journey tied to why I feel this way. I doubt transgender people were a common occurrence during Swedenborg's time, so I'm sure he never makes any direct commentary on this specific of a topic. But I was wondering if you ever get around to doing a show on gay marriage if you could include anything that Swedenborg says that might provide insight on transgender issues.
