  • With giant googly eyes, bushy tails and the ability to leap enormous distances, these tiny little primates have to be one of the cutest and most entertaining little critters that we have showcased in Urban Critter so far.     Couple of misconceptions here.
    I live in the high rainfall bushveld at low elevation East of Tzaneen.
    We get both the larger and the smaller here, with the larger being the more common. Thus they don’t only occur in riparian or coastal bush.
    We call the larger ‘bush babies’ and the smaller ‘nagapies’.
    Bush babies are very vocal, while nagapies only call occasionally - a very long series of yelps that can go on for an hour or so.
