Me and my brother beat it in 21 hours and we are not speedrunners. Granted it was the hd version so maybe there are some differences but I dont see Why it would take 24+ hours considering me and him (both non experts) couldnt do it
@@subswithnovideos-oz4zo It's because the way the Twilight Princess community handles low% for the game and the HD version. Unlike a lot of Zelda game speedruns TP includes counting small keys, Boss Keys, Warps and a few other things when it comes to low% being the minimum amount of items possible to beat the game. Due to this there's a couple of small keys that can be skipped by using the fact that in the original version of the game Link's when picking up an item for the first time when that text box appears is missing 1 frame so it's possible for the ability to slowly clip in to a few walls and doors letting you skip a couple of things because he doesn't have any collision detection while in it by the maximum amount of movement gotten from this is very slow requiring at least a few hours and there's at least 2 of them in the run. If I recall at least 1 is like 4-5 hours and another is close to like 8ish hours because of how thick the object they are clipping through is. Yeah I know it's kinda a why would you type thing but the leaderboard is ranked by number of items collected first then time. There's actually a nice TH-cam video a top Zelda speedrunner did on it for 1 of the more speedrun focused channels if you want a more detailed explanation which is quite good on explaining it I'd actually recommend looking up if you're interested. As a speedrunner myself I can tell you though the category doesn't have many people actually run it because "yeah a lot of runners have that we know why but really type thought on it. Although you also gotta respect the few that decided to do a run because they felt like it."

With BOTW sequel coming, there are now two separate timelines. 1.) the first one is the original and devastated one where King Rhoam made the same mistake by forsake technology as the Hyrulian ancestors did. Thus, Calamity Ganon takes control of all the 4 Devine Beasts & the Guardians, and the 4 champions are tragically killed. Link is rejuvenated 100 years later, help Zelda sealed Ganon away and became the hero of Hyrule. 2.) After Zelda first awakening her power, Terrako is activated and travels back in time to the Hyrule before those dark times. Warning Zelda, Link, Impa and the champions the destruction Ganon will bring upon on her 17th birthday. Terrako summons Sidon, Rija, Teba and Yunobo to save the champions from fate. However the malice of the Calamity also went back in time to corrupted Terrako’s counterpart, and accelerate Gabon’s revival with Astor as it’s pawn. Ganon is sealed once more and the heroes from BOTW timeline went home. While Windwaker and Orchestra of Time I enjoyed playing when I was a kid, The Breath of the Wild series is my favorite Zelda games I enjoyed most.
@@a.jthomas6132 yeah but Nintendo has basically already stated that age of calamity as well as the other Hyrule warrior games aren't cannon they are sort of what if games. I get that you like the game but I find it kinda insulting to say it is cannon when the creators have already said that it isn't. It's a what if game and that's just fine. That doesn't lessen it's value I think it's a fun game and I like that it explains aspects of the lore but that doesn't make it a cannon part of the series unless the creators say it is and they probably won't since it already serves as a fan game.
@@rachelnielsen167 Than how can you expect Age of Calamity not canon? Terrako brought Rija, Teba, Sidon and Yunobo from the BOTW timeline to change the past champions’ fates and offer Hyrule a second chance. So story wise, it felt canon because of their experiences and being inspired by Link’s heroic acts. Nintendo should reconsidered it if there is a way to continue on with the story as we lead towards the sequel.
@@Archway_ what do you define as “beating” it? Getting 100% of all side quests and collectibles? Or doing like the full main story which includes all divine beasts, getting the master sword, and all memories? And of course beating Ganon for any of those
I think the one I played the most was A Link to the Past and the one I played the least was Link's Awakening. I don't think either of these Zelda games are extraordinarily long compared to many of the other Zelda games, but finding all of the crystals, pendants and instruments does take quite the finesse. There's also the fact that I have no clue on how to complete the second half of the second dungeon of Link's Awakening. I managed to defeat the mini boss, but eventually found myself running in circles shortly after.
My favorite is Ocarina of Time the 64 version despite being a short game it's still a masterpiece I pray for a remake The longest and least favorite is Breath of the Wild to me it was more like a survival game than an adventure what I found a let down was the Master Sword it even had to be recharged which I found annoying I've been playing games for 30 years and The Legend of Zelda is my number 1 franchise
I have played through BOTW 3 times at no less than 100 hours a playthrough. But the Zelda I have spent most time on is Link to the Past. I have played through that game at least 20 times. It's my favorite Zelda game by far.
What I would really like to see is a semi-linear Zelda game that has like over 10 dungeons and has twists and turns like Ocarina of Time but on steroids. And of course, a lot more locations in addition to the usual locations like Hyrule Castle, Lost Woods, Death Mountain, Zora's Domain
MojoPlays, I had bought Breath Of The Wild as a dlc bundle last year and began it on Feb.19, 2021. Just last month in May did I finish BOTW in it's full completionist-entirety on Master Mode as I had done the Normal Mode likewise in sort of a Speedrun completionist of just 2.5 months between Feb.19--May 2nd. Altogether, bringing my total logged time to a STAGGERING amount of 2,140 hours for BOTH modes! I believe two words exemplifyingly epitomizes that unprecedented accomplishment feat- INSANELY BONKERS 🤯🤯🤯!
Good question. Probably Majora's Mask for me. But there's so much WORTH doing before going to the Moon...even though it all isn't necessary. Maybe I just like the ingenuity of the Anju and Kafei story?
I beat Spirit Tracks in less than a week a couple days ago. Of course I had gotten far into it between 2009-2017 so I pretty much knew what to do already. Same with Phantom Hourglass, which I hadn’t but had finished a week prior.
Of course Oracle of Ages is longer since it is a more puzzle-heavy game rather than action-oriented like Oracle of Seasons. On the other hand, I did not expect Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks both made it to the list, I thought they are short games but I think thats just me playing them over and over again, thats why I did not noticed how long they are because of enjoyment I feel whenever I played those games. Edit: I am more suprised Wind Waker made it higher to this list.
Honestly, I can really agree with Ocarina of Time. My second ever completion, being my first 100% completion, only took me like 18 hours playing it only casually.
Definitely spent the most time on Ocarina, and the least time (excluding games I haven't played) on Adventure of Link in which I played for maybe 15 minutes before I gave up.
9:39 hands together (I'd rather that than fingers crossed)! I'm looking forward to Botw2 having even more content for us & hopefully the rewards will be better and it wont feel as dead It'd also be nice to get plenty of use out of awards, like we got with Tarrey Town, not so much Master Cycle Zero. So I hope we get to use the Cycle in the sequel
@@fruitgum9619 Yea it is so I'd meant it'd be great to get more use out of it in the sequel ! I was also wondering if we'd keep Champions' Abilities & the Sheikah slate. We may not Some would say the abilities arent really necessary anyway, except for Urbosa's Fury. But some say that & Stasis+ break the game 🎮
Out of all The Legend Of Zelda games I have played, Breath Of The Wild took me the longest to beat overall, with all the content it had the main story, side quests, extras, and just exploring it did take me over 200 hours to beat it, it is definitely a great game and I'm glad I played it, now I can play it's DLC and I can't wait to see how long it will take me to beat it ✊
While ocarina of time was the first loz game I've ever played to completion, twilight princess was my absolute favourite despite not being able to finish it.
There really should have been an honorable mention for Zelda 1. If you try to play it blind and without any sort of guide, it could be one of, if not the, longest Zelda game. I've heard of people who grew up with it playing it on and off for literal years before being able to beat it. Gotta love some of that NES obtuse-style difficulty. XD You could probably do similar things with Castlevania 2 (Simon's Quest, not Belmont's Revenge) and Metroid 1.
I have played Breath of the Wild. Here are the following: Mission Completed: Beat the game New Mission: Obtain the DLCs and complete the game 100% Mission Failed: 30% of everything is collected and played 235 hours or more.
I remember when we first got the Wii with the game bundle including Zelda. It took my dad almost 400 hours to play through it lmao. No joke. And then one time I went to play it and somehow deleted it. He was pissed to say the least. But I’ve gotten very good at the game. Beating it almost a dozen times, I can beat the main story of the game in about 24 hours on the nose. Last time I played it, I did the twilight hand/orb level in 15 minutes. Didn’t lose the ball once.
I wish I still had my Nintendo Switch, I still have all my old switch games and looking at them reminds me of how fun the switch was but then it reminds me that I don't have one anymore
I remember I traded let’s go pikachu with my friend for his botw game Before I never played zelda game ever and had no knowledge of it but in a week I defeated all divine beasts which honestly didn’t think I’d get to at far
How slow are these people? I beat Twilight Princess on GameCube in less than 20hrs, Ocarina of Time (100%) in just over a day and I'm not counting the time I spent in the pause menu. Finished BOTW in the Wii U in about 24 hours, not 100% however, and just finished it yesterday in Cemu, 100% at 39hrs clocked. And again, not counting how much time I spent on the pause menu doing other stuff.
I recently beat breath of the wild finally. And it’s going up there with my other two faves which are twilight princess and skyward sword. And yes I agree it’s the longest Zelda game no I haven’t played the DLC yet.
I have put around 750 hours into the game itself (both regular and master mode) but I made the choice last christmas that I was gonna 100 percent it. That included all the corresponding amiibos, armor upgrades, the compendium etc etc. I just finished the korok seeds last week xD
Ya’ll forgot about Hyrule Warriors, Definitive Edition. Beating the normal game is a short 16.5 hours but actually completing everything will take you around 378 hours!
Actually, factoring in DLC and additions added with each version, it's gonna take waaay longer than 378 hrs. Getting everybody to 255, getting all badges for every character, unlocking all weapon skills, getting every fairy slot filled in My Fairy and upgrading the absolutely busted fairies to max stats, doing everything as both Ganon and the giant Cuckoo. It adds up.
I've put like 50 hours into loz tp Ive pit like 18 into loz ss I've put less than 10 hours into ww, oot, loz, and la I've put less than 30 min into loz 2
Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess need to be released on the Nintendo Switch. Players would be able to play them wherever they want and given the length of each game, they would be great to take on trips or can be played at home with friends.
Others have pointed it out but ill say it also. Hyrule warriors definitive edition is the longest zelda game. If you want to complete it to 100% its about 400+ hours.
Well Breath of the Wild is obviously the longest one. I actually did collect all the Mai Mai children. At least this game does give you an idea where they are if you missed one. Doesn't Veran only get time traveling powers because she captured Nayru? I didn't bother with the fishing holes in the remake. Thank you for pronouncing Fi's name properly. I definitely played BOTW for over 100 hours. I don't think I ever finished a game this big before.
Most hours is probably BOTW. Only saying that because I can see the hours on the Switch but I’ve played through Oot and MM many times. I love Skyward Sword too and liked back tracking. It was nice to have to go back to areas instead of completing their dungeon and never ever needing to go back. It’s also my favorite story line of any game m ☺️

I think hyrule warriors isn't cannon tho
@@rachelnielsen167 For you perhaps. But to me and fans, it is canon since the older Sidon is from the BOTW timeline.
Nintendo should reconsidered it if there is a way to continue on with the story as we lead towards the sequel.
ive 100% completed link between worlds 3 times (2 normal, 1 master). took way too long lol
Such a good game tho
I did the same but now i have 2 games 100% start 3 soon
Breath of the Wild is a weird one because you can beat it quickly. Main story we would count as all divine beasts.
I beat the game in 30 hours idk what this guy is talking about
@@Archway_ what do you define as “beating” it? Getting 100% of all side quests and collectibles? Or doing like the full main story which includes all divine beasts, getting the master sword, and all memories? And of course beating Ganon for any of those
@@Marksman3434 yeah 30 hours this is ligit the easiest Zelda game when ur comes to the main story
@@Archway_ yup, its a overrated game also lmao
@@mobbarley1102 it’s not overrated but ok
I think Skyward Sword & Twilight Princess are almost equal but that Ocarina of time is longer than those two with the side quests.
My favorite is Ocarina of Time the 64 version despite being a short game it's still a masterpiece I pray for a remake
The longest and least favorite is Breath of the Wild to me it was more like a survival game than an adventure what I found a let down was the Master Sword it even had to be recharged which I found annoying
I've been playing games for 30 years and The Legend of Zelda is my number 1 franchise
OoT isn't thaaat short, try collecting all the skultulas - it'll take you afew weeks
I have played through BOTW 3 times at no less than 100 hours a playthrough. But the Zelda I have spent most time on is Link to the Past. I have played through that game at least 20 times. It's my favorite Zelda game by far.
Agree with that. Alltp is my favorite as well. So much in fact that i made a rom hack of it. I also do randomizers of a link to past all the time.
Nowadays it is impossible for me to choose the best Zelda game of all time between Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time.
Nintendo trolling when they put in 900 korok seeds to find in exchange for a piece of sh*t
I did all the divine beasts got the Master sword and killed Ganon within 2 days without glitches
But understand what your talking about
Of course Oracle of Ages is longer since it is a more puzzle-heavy game rather than action-oriented like Oracle of Seasons.
Oracle of ages will always be my 2nd fav game of all time
In regards to defeating calamity ganon, BOTW is very quick to beat
I honestly have completed OoT 3d and the original in one sitting. I've completed it in like 7 hours, without glitches.
That's pretty cool. Muscle memory.
I never got to finish twilight princess 😔
Damn u should try playing it on a emulator sometime
The majority of ocarina of time’s length is from the owl’s dialogue….
True
Definitely had the most hours on twilight princess and botw
Spirit tracks being my first zelda game and forevor been a zelda fan🤣
The funny thing is… I’ve beat BOTW multiple times but I still go back and continue exploring new areas I’ve never been and collecting everything
Can't forget getting all them compendium entries for BOTW without buying any of them. Some of them are a serious pain to find and get a picture of.
Honestly, I can really agree with Ocarina of Time.
My second ever completion, being my first 100% completion, only took me like 18 hours playing it only casually.
Should’ve started the part about Majora’s Mask with something like “for a game that only takes place over 3 days, this game sure takes a long time.”
I feel like Breath of the Wild light story wasn’t it for me but I enjoy exploring it and seeking references.
Definitely spent the most time on Ocarina, and the least time (excluding games I haven't played) on Adventure of Link in which I played for maybe 15 minutes before I gave up.
I love Zelda. TP and MM are my favorites
Ain’t no ways skyward sword takes longer to complete than twilight princess. I could swear I needed much more time to do 100% on tp.
I remember taking forever to beat a link to the past, but since it's not on this list, it must be pretty short by comparison!
No Hyrule Warriors?
I wasn’t expecting to see Majora up here
Watchmojo: Zelda botw is the longest zelda game to beat.
Speedrunners: Hold our sheikah slates.
The master cycle is so fun tho! Lol
@@fruitgum9619 Yea it is so I'd meant it'd be great to get more use out of it in the sequel ! I was also wondering if we'd keep Champions' Abilities & the Sheikah slate. We may not
Some would say the abilities arent really necessary anyway, except for Urbosa's Fury. But some say that & Stasis+ break the game 🎮
@@krishnamckay3247 heck yeah! Can't wait to find out
Out of all The Legend Of Zelda games I have played, Breath Of The Wild took me the longest to beat overall, with all the content it had the main story, side quests, extras, and just exploring it did take me over 200 hours to beat it, it is definitely a great game and I'm glad I played it, now I can play it's DLC and I can't wait to see how long it will take me to beat it ✊
While ocarina of time was the first loz game I've ever played to completion, twilight princess was my absolute favourite despite not being able to finish it.
XD
You could probably do similar things with Castlevania 2 (Simon's Quest, not Belmont's Revenge) and Metroid 1.
Im on my 7th play through of oot last time i clocked in at 14 hours with the gorron sword and 19 hearts along with 40 skulltillas
Glad to see Ocarina up here!
Me who played through the skyward sword hd story in 60 hours 😳
Guess im really bad at dungeons and got stuck A LOT
Bro it took me 100
Haha no way
I gave up pretty early in skyward sword...I was on that 50 hour timeline too and I just couldn't do it.
Much as I love Majora, I don't think it deserved to be on this list. The game's time-travel mechanic basically forces you to learn how to speedrun it.
I have played Breath of the Wild. Here are the following:
Mission Completed: Beat the game
New Mission: Obtain the DLCs and complete the game 100%
Mission Failed: 30% of everything is collected and played 235 hours or more.
From December 2017 to April 2018. I've poured in long hours playing BOTW trying to save Hyrule.
My most played Zelda is Twillight Prinzes
Majoras mask I definitely spent the most time with, being a completionist and all. Then I would say Windwaker.
I wish I still had my Nintendo Switch, I still have all my old switch games and looking at them reminds me of how fun the switch was but then it reminds me that I don't have one anymore
I've probably played botw for the longest and Majora's Mask for the shortest time. I also played Ocarina of Time for a decent while.
you forget hyrule warriors series
Oh man, I put like 300 hours into BOTW. Just loved it so much!
The top-down took me the longest to beat, except albw. And the 3d games weren't that long to finish, except oot.
I remember I traded let’s go pikachu with my friend for his botw game
Before I never played zelda game ever and had no knowledge of it but in a week I defeated all divine beasts which honestly didn’t think I’d get to at far
Link to the past was one of my favorites but it's spot was taken by Ocarina of Time
I have put around 750 hours into the game itself (both regular and master mode) but I made the choice last christmas that I was gonna 100 percent it. That included all the corresponding amiibos, armor upgrades, the compendium etc etc. I just finished the korok seeds last week xD
me too
Ya’ll forgot about Hyrule Warriors, Definitive Edition.
It adds up.
It’s not canon, so it wasn’t included
@@anonymousfellow8879 Not canon, but still considered as a part of the series even as a spin-off.
@@tcrpgfan
Except they stuck to Just Canon, not “everything liscences just enough to use zelda aethsetics.”
Game I played the least, Majoras mask. Game I played the most, either Ocarina of Time, or Twilight Princess
I've put like 50 hours into loz tp
Ive pit like 18 into loz ss
I've put less than 10 hours into ww, oot, loz, and la
I've put less than 30 min into loz 2
Also put about 20 into botw
Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess need to be released on the Nintendo Switch. Players would be able to play them wherever they want and given the length of each game, they would be great to take on trips or can be played at home with friends.
These needs remakes on switch.
BotW is longest easily
Skyward Sword, 2021
Actually, I manage to beat Ocarina of Time 3D in just one day after I got it on Christmas Day.
Thry should have done a special mention for Hyrule Warriors DE
The only reason I never beat Phantom Hourglass 100% is because of Neptoona. I've seen maybe 10 big fish on my map and they were all swordfish.
Hyrule Warriors definitive edition should be 1
Phantom Hourglass took the most time to 100% with waiting for the correct ship parts
I hardly agree with including TP, I'm no speedrunner but I completed it (100%) and my playtime was less than 30 hours
Suuuuuure it was😆
Lmao what are u on its longer than botw, botw main story is quick as balls
I would say Breath of the Wild was one of the shortest games I've played. Regardless of franchise.
We need a Twilight Princess reboot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want a switch version so bad
For me it is between Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time and breath of the wild
