Issues with this review: Your proposed changes would turn Lavos into yet another practically-100%-uptime room nuker at pretty much any level. Something DE falls into sometimes, but generally speaking doesn't want. While it may be EFFICIENT, it is far from FUN; a single Lavos in your team deleting the entire map every 10 seconds on average (thanks to Transmutation Probe) is not something people would want to experience, keeping in mind that his status duration would mean that the procs left behind by his last 4 would probably still be active to boost his next if the enemies managed to not get killed. It should be noted that 10 seconds isn't actually all that long of a cooldown for something like his 3. If you cast it, then cast his 4, odds are you'll have 5 seconds left before it comes off cooldown even before his 4 ends, but GOOD LUCK FINDING ENEMIES TO THROW IT AT if enemies were primed with both 2 and 3 before 4. The 10 second cooldown is practically not a cooldown at all when your opportunities for usage typically fall well outside that window. Removing the energy cost alone significantly adjusts Lavos' value for the average player towards the positive; lest you forget, not every player in the game is a veteran with access to Arcane Energize, maxed out Zenurik energy nodes, or a billion energy pizzas, and a LOT of players struggle with energy economy unless they've played 1000+ hours - which is to say, not everyone can spam every frame's strongest nukes all the time. Considering that this is a game wherein we are often playing in teams, even if your 4 doesn't kill enemies from THE OPTIMAL SETUP, giving every ally within a 70m radius double damage or higher on every enemy via viral procs is pretty radical. Not to mention the CC potential of both his 2 and 3, one of which allows you to easily charge into melee range while dropping procs in a massive area, and the other which just plain procs in a massive area, and that's not even getting into his 4; Condition Overload is having a field day, not to mention the Mecha mod set. For my money, the biggest disappointment with Lavos is that his existence is completely anathema to the Helminth Chrysalis. If you replace one of his abilities, that element slot, and all combos it can produce, is LOCKED. Additionally, and despite that fact, Vial Rush does not bring its imbuing capability to the table for any other warframe, which is a damn shame. Perhaps worst of all, his imbuing function does not work on any injected abilities, meaning you cannot have, for example, a Cold/Corrosive/Viral Fire Walker, which is perhaps one of the biggest letdowns I've had in a while.
Very much this. Lavos' 4 may waste a lot on solo, but given that everybody runs elements on either their weapon or frame and that you should be staying within affinity/aura range of eachother, Lavos is basically Miasma Saryn but for everyones elemental output who just so happens to be quite capable at spreading death on his lonesome. That plus his lack of energy requirement and fabulous fashion (His alt helmet is fine, and I will fite those who disagree) is the reason he rocketed up to punch Limbo in the face for my position as my #1 favourite frame (they are tied). Just a shame Helminth, who Lavos should've been designed with that in mind, basically neuters large parts of Lavos' kit no matter where you put an infused ability. 1 means no corrosive or viral, 2 means no easy element spreading, large distance covering and no viral, 3 means no faster cooldown on his 4, radiation or corrosive, and 4 is self explanatory. On a seperate note, if only Raids were still around, I'd love to see how trivial Zanagoth & Co. would make them with 8 Lavos'.
Agreed about every point but helminth. That system was poorly thought out still hasn't been fleshed out and is mostly used to cover parts of warframe kits that should be buffed/reworked or just further making the already easy game trivial by neutralizing already really strong frames' only weakness and need for a team by replacing a mediocre/bad ability with a great one like nourish or roar or any cc choice
tbh,the cedo is the type of signature weapon I imagine every frame should get.It just fits in with his kit and augments it.Hope more weapons like this one will come with new frame.
A few gripes that i have with Trib's notions on Lavos that can easily be softened with one simple change. 1. Use Cedo 2. Use Cedo's alt fire bouncy explosion disc 3. Laugh at the the fact that you will never run out of ammo, and if you do, you arent using lavos correctly I mean, I have lavos set up for range and power with enough duration to keep me out of the numbers under 100% duration, I use cedo to spread so many bouncing status explosions because it can be made to have over 100% status chance with lingering torment to keep them there in addition to what lavos' duration. combine that with the fact that my vial rush and catalyze can bury everything in radiation (to murder any chance for infested ancients to help their buddies) and viral to cut down the slaughter time and in the aftermath just toss the transmute drone down the biggest avenue of chaos, all the while the enemies around you are busy either attacking each other or dying by the fire burning their flesh or the viral damage that makes them wish they had covid-19. If you are curious of my setup and want to try it for yourselves Aura mod: Corrosive Projection Base mods: *from left to right top to bottom* Adaptation, Umbral Vitality, Continuity, Streamline, Umbral Intensify, Umbral Fiber, Overextended. I don't currently have any arcanes equipped nor do i have an eight base mod because I'm out of format. critique me as you will but this setup is just fun to use and you can use it for just about anything. i even used it in a dark sector survival just to rank up weapons i forgot to master from the store (Mk I type weapons) and my abilities alone were killing everything. Anyways, Love your videos and your memes. take care Trib
I get the most enjoyment out of him as a Lavos of Saturn Six cosplay. In lore he was the hardest core prison warden ever, and Wolf was the hardest core convict we've seen. Both were comically tough physical powerhouses, with more going for them upstairs than just "dumb brute." His tube-heavy design works well with the Grineer aesthetic, and the contingency-proof nature of his lack of energy lets him just manmode on through everything that others would helplessly screech at, scratching that Doom-Guy itch that Wolf evoked. Not being able to spam abilities-only like some other apes? Not too damning of a problem, when Cedo alt fire and Wolf Sledge throws clears rooms just fine and he can shrug off as much as Inaros in classic gunplay. Swap out the Sledge for Glaive Prime in the highest of settings, sure, but Cedo-CO-Sledge is more than sufficient for 99% of stuff
I think one of the best things they could do is return gas to how it used to be so I can layer the entire map with cedo and vial rush with some deadly mist.
YESSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU FOR SOOOOOOO LONG Also wtf hat in time music man you rlly are the best youtube i dont even play warframe anymore but i just rlly like ur vids keep it up man stay gnite ;)
I feel like I play Lavos different from everyone else. I use his transmutation probe to make universal ammo for my Archgun, then use my other abilities to weaken enemies with viral, corrosive, and heat procs. I use him as a gun frame not an ability frame and it works pretty decent in my experience
I will be honest, I wasn't originally sold on the alt helm myself when I first saw it, and wasn't really sure what they were trying to go for with its design like Trib had mentioned in the video. But the second I saw someone post a picture of Carapar in reference to the alt helmet's appearance, I immediately realized just how much that was _exactly_ the thing I needed to make Lavos' overall appearance finally click for me, and proceeded to spend a good amount of time setting my Lavos up to look as close as possible to him once I had gotten all his stuff from the Orphix Venom event. It's a shame the vials on his body don't work right currently on PS4 (and I think maybe PS5?) and appear empty, but aside from that, Lavos ended up pulling off the look pretty damn well overall.
@@BiomasterM2 the one thing I realized when I was selecting weapons for the Carapar loadout was we really don't have a decent weapon for pincers... which feels a bit weird considering we're getting a giant saw at some point (ether that or DE is trolling again).

@@jazzerokami2443 I have done 4+ hour survivals with him in Steel Parh already actually. Never minded it. There was never more than maybe 5 seconds where I didnt have an ability to use. But it may just be a difference in playstyle, and how we like to play the game.
A super late special note: Radiation is really nice when against Infested , since it can "remove" ancients' aura , making Infested enemies really easy to kill.

Like, I don't care about Lavos or his abilities, just listening to you rant about them is enough.
Oh, silly me for thinking that efficiency-the stat that lets you use more abilities-would reduce his cooldowns. No, it only makes logical sense for it to work on 1 aspect of 1 ability you can use once every 10 seconds. Of course.
Lavos has became my main frame alongside Octavia and Equinox. Lavos is absolutely amazing at breaking down enemies and they just melt when you combine him with his Cedo, I haven't seen an enemy not melt just keep up on your infusions, and get creative with vial rush
...I just use Lavos' 3, his probe... To convert energy/HP orbs in clusters, since I also use a mod that benefits heavily from the twin-type orbs the probe converts such things into. It's also super-useful for ammo conversion in huge amounts.
So fun fact right off the bat. My lavos is the same color as yours except I use white on whatever colors the tail as well. White base and bronze accents really are the best for him

@@stickmanstickian well, what did we all expect to happen when the guy doesn’t need energy for his abilities? They have to put a limit SOMEWHERE, else ppl would just spam the shit out of his abilities without consequence. .... that said, I agree on dropping 4s cd by a margin.
@@jazzerokami2443 I never notice the CDs. I normally only use the first 3 abilities, because the Status Effects normally kill trash mobs pretty quickly up till about level 100. I only use his 4 on heavies His passive is also pretty good. People who think he's only designed for his 4 is wrong. His 4 is only needed for higher levels.
I really like Lavos, my biggest complaint is 3 is his only cooldown ability. I think Lavos should reward interactive play, so your other ability's help cool down other things. Or something like, every elemental proc and tick you cool down 0.05 seconds, or for every energy orb you cool down 0.5-1 second (somewhere in there). As it stands Lavos is alot of waiting and second guessing "Do I need to do this now?" "I need to load up elements but I need to cool down 4" "I tanked efficiency but I still need to cool down 4" "Uh what are they weak to again?" "What was the rotation for this?" I do like Lavos, but I think his cooldown ability is unforgiving and he needs to be more flexible with what can grant cooldowns and have 3 be a big one that offers the most reduction and everything else feels like babysteps but you are moving forward and cooling down. I also think 1 needs a hold down ability, tapping 1 does generation X and holding 1 does a smaller area whip around for 360 lashing. I think 2 should leave a trail behind him that procs ice and element, and he throws vials directly at enemies as he passes with the ring on stop. Call 3 a space bong Honestly I disagree with you on 4 needing to apply it's damage first, it would be, really overpowered otherwise. However I think the proccing damage it does, should FURTHER scale on whats on the target. So if they survive they are burning at an extra crispy rate.

So, to summarize... play Lavos like a support instead of a nuker. Spicy take, ngl.
Dear gods this makes so much sense. This completely changed how I played my Lavos and it is going GREAT.... fuck helminth tho
1. Use Cedo
2. Use Cedo's alt fire bouncy explosion disc
3. Laugh at the the fact that you will never run out of ammo, and if you do, you arent using lavos correctly
I mean, I have lavos set up for range and power with enough duration to keep me out of the numbers under 100% duration, I use cedo to spread so many bouncing status explosions because it can be made to have over 100% status chance with lingering torment to keep them there in addition to what lavos' duration. combine that with the fact that my vial rush and catalyze can bury everything in radiation (to murder any chance for infested ancients to help their buddies) and viral to cut down the slaughter time and in the aftermath just toss the transmute drone down the biggest avenue of chaos, all the while the enemies around you are busy either attacking each other or dying by the fire burning their flesh or the viral damage that makes them wish they had covid-19.
If you are curious of my setup and want to try it for yourselves
Aura mod: Corrosive Projection
Base mods: *from left to right top to bottom* Adaptation, Umbral Vitality, Continuity, Streamline, Umbral Intensify, Umbral Fiber, Overextended.
Your ideas for improvements seem pretty solid. I look forward to seeing them implemented in three years.
Gotta love trib's necramech behind him looking around like "who am i ? where am i ?"
"Who am I? Where am I? *How am I?*"
I get the most enjoyment out of him as a Lavos of Saturn Six cosplay.
In lore he was the hardest core prison warden ever, and Wolf was the hardest core convict we've seen. Both were comically tough physical powerhouses, with more going for them upstairs than just "dumb brute."
His tube-heavy design works well with the Grineer aesthetic, and the contingency-proof nature of his lack of energy lets him just manmode on through everything that others would helplessly screech at, scratching that Doom-Guy itch that Wolf evoked.
Trib returns, to feed our addiction to tribubu-vidyas once again.
I think one of the best things they could do is return gas to how it used to be so I can layer the entire map with cedo and vial rush with some deadly mist.
YESSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU FOR SOOOOOOO LONG
Also wtf hat in time music man you rlly are the best youtube i dont even play warframe anymore but i just rlly like ur vids keep it up man stay gnite ;)
I feel like I play Lavos different from everyone else. I use his transmutation probe to make universal ammo for my Archgun, then use my other abilities to weaken enemies with viral, corrosive, and heat procs.
I use him as a gun frame not an ability frame and it works pretty decent in my experience
i think you saw trib using archguns
How have I only just found your channel now, this was absolutely hilarious!
I have been waiting for this video for 20 years!

YAY TRIB IS BACK
Hey Triburos you have become my favorite TH-camr, and you’re the reason I started playing Warframe! So thanks, it’s become my favorite game!
If you color it a specific way, you can make it look like carapar from the bionicle series (specifically the underwater line) with the alt helm
His alt helmet looks like the predator
If you colour him correctly then he can look like keetungu as well.
New triburos video?
damn this day just got better
I love lavos. One of the best frames that have released recently. He is really fun. I generally disagree with your opinions on the cooldowns, but still a great video.
Yes
Tbh the catalyze cooldown is a bit much
@@RattlebonesTheThird I mean they could reduce it and it would make him better, but I rarely notice it feeling to long, but that's just me obviously.
Try to tackle higher level content qith him and you will hate the CD system.
In steelpath you can't wait 10 seconds to play every two you are casting
@@jazzerokami2443 I have done 4+ hour survivals with him in Steel Parh already actually. Never minded it. There was never more than maybe 5 seconds where I didnt have an ability to use. But it may just be a difference in playstyle, and how we like to play the game.
I see the title and the video and all I can think of is
“Man he let the opportunity to bring up Nina Tucker soar over his head”
*"Wake up babe, new Tributos vid"*
I don't play Warframe anymore, but I still watching Warframe content like this.
A super late special note:
Radiation is really nice when against Infested , since it can "remove" ancients' aura , making Infested enemies really easy to kill.
Idk how to say this but your vids have such a “feels good” to them that i just put them on repeat to go to sleep
Every new vid is just golden too
Keep doing your things trib ^^
I am going to craft a Cedo JUST to give it an energy colour. Find me.
I love listening to Trib malding
It’s genuinely the best
Bruh, I had that shit at .25x playback speed and I still couldn’t see what the quick symbol was.
I recognized it instantly
I'm dumb, which symbol?
Trib posting the lavos vid months after his release, good to know things havent changed
Cedo basically had conditional overload on a primary before it was cool
Glad you're still working on vids Trib! :)
why isn’t he short though? I mean, he is the full metal alchemist (literally)
He traded his fashion sense for height
@@dragonlord3376 Bruh he looks amazing.
I think you are the only Warframe related channel I'm still subscribed to, and clearly that was a good choice. I've stopped playing Warframe long ago, and from what I can see in this video, it's very much still the same game run by the same people.
But damn, listening to you rant is somehow really fun.
Of course.
This guide was insanely well done jeeeez
Condition overload the frame, along with his weapon condition overload the gun
as a hydroid main that "tidal surge but better"
really hurts
because its true
Lavos is the one situation where I think high heels look manly af
I may not play warframe anymore, but I'll still love all of everything Trib does.
Canada being Ice and Australia being fire got me good
Lavos has became my main frame alongside Octavia and Equinox.
White base and bronze accents really are the best for him
Honestly, his cooldown gimmick feels like an experiment by DE to see how it would work on other frames just to prevent spamming an ability.
I whould treat any frame that gets cooldowns The same way as I do with lavos play Every other frame just to make him my least played frame as he should be
@@rl8813 You could just, learn to be patient and set up his abilities for big damage because he isn't a mindless spam 4 to win Frame?
@@lucasfraczek4320 but he is a mindless spam. 4 to Win. What a fuck are you on about he requires no thinking what so ever. Only reason people dont spam he's abilite is becuse of he's cooldowns. and he's abilities do absolute shit if you dont aplie Every status in existance making status spreader mandatory.
Me: Oh its been like three months since I checked on that Warframe TH-camrs channel, what was it called again? oh yeah Triburos, lets see what he uploaded
Triburos: 3 Videos
Me: Not sure what I expected
So overall:
Me: Hey Chroma...
Chroma: ...?
Me: Nothing.
Chroma: 😱😞
This was One of yer Best Frickin videos I've seen in a while
I really wish they gave all his powers regular scaling and all his abilities the element scaling, then his goal downs wouldn't feel as bad
Been waiting for this!
I’m not even gonna lie I made a lot of uuhhhh. Questionable noises when I saw this
When he started talking lightly I could tell he was about to yell
Just curious why you didn't mention about the fact that his three changes energy and health orbs into hybrids and turns all ammo packs into large universal packs
yeah kinda missed the whole 'transmutation' part of the transmutation probe
Did he mention his passive? Lavos's 3 makes his passive really good.
@@sunayama4650 nope he didn’t
ah i’ve been waiting for this
Dis dude talkin' 'bout Lavos when I main the shit out of him and LOVE HIM.
I love him too, great for early game bc I don't have to worry about the severe lack of energy I suffer with
I fucking love Lavos too, but won't play him until DE does something about the long ass CDs.
Fucking delete that pasive
@@jazzerokami2443 Honestly, I love the passive. But the CDs... I think it honestly makes sense. Think of it like a cooldown for a machine. If we were to use it a lot with no pause in between, the machine would overheat and either 1. Melt 2. Explode 3. do both and commit die. So the cooldowns make sense. But at least lower them a bit!
I only use his 4 on heavies
His passive is also pretty good.
Call 3 a space bong
Honestly I disagree with you on 4 needing to apply it's damage first, it would be, really overpowered otherwise. However I think the proccing damage it does, should FURTHER scale on whats on the target. So if they survive they are burning at an extra crispy rate.
Ah drug man make power go boom
Edit: Potion man make potion go splash
I missed your videos

Thanks for the sauce, Trib!
What was the sauce? I only got the number 2
