“Less is more” is the motto of the car industry as they downscale displacement and cylinders in a run to save our planet. Substituting the missing combustion chambers almost 1 to 1, it seems, are turbochargers that mostly strangle the authentic burble of what we used to call V8’s, V10’s and V12’s. And to top it all, it’s now possible to can the whole thing all together and drive on a battery alone. All of this. In one car. And it’s a Ferrari.
And it’s bloody brilliant!
Whoever can throw all those unwanted ingredients into the mix and come up with the bang that is the 296 GTB is nothing short of ingenious. Whoever can make the concoction sound like what we love from the bygone siblings, well, they’re simply genius. I’ll pass on the compliment. ;-)

That exhaust work has transformed the car. I no longer hate V6T, I'll just hate bad exhaust from now.
The 812 is my current favorite car and this may be the new runner up! Absolutely menacing sounding. Can't wait to see where this platform takes us!

I promise you there is. The Comp is great, but odd. I own one, and I can't deal with the rear wheel steering. Works great on the GTS and Superfast, but on the Comp, you can't tell whether you turn, drift or are close to lose the rear end.

Even Novitec almost made it sound it like a real Ferrari but nothing beats a naturally aspirated V12. Ferrari should make supercars only V12’s just because they sound awesome.

I started watching the video and I honestly completely forgot the 296 was a V6 and I literally got halfway though the video thinking "how great does this v8 sound?!" and then I remembered/realized the car is a V6... Ferrari did an incredible job with this engine. Definitely my new favorite sounding V6

9 days ago I drove the 812 Comp and 296 AF back to back at Ring Knutstorp. They sound absolutely nothing alike.

What do I have to do to get a drive as a passenger in this car?! It is absolutely amazing and the sound is out of this world!! It really does sound like a baby v12! It doesn’t have to hide from the 812 (with stock exchaust). Unbelievable!
If this revved next to an 812 with the Novitec exhaust at the same time you wouldn't even be able to hear it

@@hdjwjwn Yea of course, the 296 is a quieter car and can never achieve the decibel levels of the 812. However, it does sound exactly like half of an 812 v12. The same tone is there, just lessened to an extent.

Believe it or not, it sounds better from the inside of the cabin with the windows up. I have one on order and have driven this about 5 times.

To me this is a crap car with no soul, not a real Ferrari. Trust me you'd be better off buying a Ferrari V12 or an old 458 if you wanted a good sounding V8. It will be for the next one come on 😂. Depends on what version you get. The throttle mapping of the non-AF car is absolutely abysmal. And frankly, while the steering is fast and light, it lacks the feedback the F8, Pista, 488 and SF90 has. Fast, agile, responsive, but numb.

Before this video you made, I thought the 296 sounded really bad and the original sound and the look of the car didn't match. People thought the model was a failure until they saw this video. You just enjoy the song from this V6. THANK YOU for the wonderful sound you gave 296.

I dont get why people slap mic's right beside the exhaust tips. The sound captured is a poor representation of what the car actually sounds like driving by. The farting, sputtering and air hissing are a result of the mic not being able to cope and im not referring to the whistling sound of the turbo's!

Just received mine a week ago and was blown away how great it sounds for a V6! Would love to get the exhaust but my buddy 458destroyer has his on but it throws every code in the dash causing it to look like a Christmas tree which really sucks.

P.S.: I hope with electronic mod (ECU, ...) also electric motor could be switched for more powerful (of give it 10 more Volts?? 200 e-bhp ?? + ICE 750 bhp ) and hopefully a TMA gets some tune as well so it would kick a bit more with touch faster (actually more responsive), earlier gearchange, it's fast but I have a feeling that there's few 10th of a second wasted before it shifts, the actual shift gear to gear is basically OK, fast, really fast...
