Thank you Karen! Oh yes, that view is spectacular from St Mary's church yard! I agree about it being one of the best in England! Thanks for watching and the nice comment!
Thank you Jesse! I absolutely loved making that one! Also I was so pleased that I managed to get to the front of the carriage to be able to film that gorgeous journey up 🤗 Another ‘Team Cream’ - fab!
Another fabulous walk Louise. I have done this walk a couple of times. Once in the rain, once when boiling hot. The cafe at the end (or rather half way) is most welcome. Really enjoyed this! 🙂👍 Thank you! Take care, Paul
@@SouthWestSundays You're most welcome Louise. I had some support in my early days (only just over year ago!) from fellow TH-camrs, and it made a big difference to help keep me going and progressing, and in helping my confidence. Your enthusiasm and content shines through, and I know that you will continue to do well. Paul.
Thank you for posting this lovely video.last June I stayed at the Lorna Doone guest house for a week and managed to walk the watersmeet walk. It took me a great deal longer than Google maps said. Since then my walking has declined. I live in St Austell Cornwall which is lovely, but I really felt a sense of belonging and connection in Lynmouth and lynton. I hope to return this spring or summer. I don't know whether I will be able to manage the walk but the town is really lovely. One point of interest regarding the theory of producing rain. Many years ago I was listening to a radio 4 broadcast which was around the time the freedom of information act came in. On the programme their was an interview relating to official government documents declassified under the fifty year rule. At that time I hadn't ever heard of the Lynmouth disaster. The chap being interviewed went into great detail about a Royal Air Force document that had been part of the documents available. He read it live in air. The document said that the RAF were experimenting with cloud seeding to create rain to help with agriculture projects in the empire where there was a high incidence of drought. That always stuck in my mind. Back in the 1980s there was no you tube or internet so it would have been very uncommon knowledge nationwide except to those families caught up in the disaster. I think we can reasonably say it's more than a theory. I do wonder if that information is still available. Thank you for sharing your lovely video. It takes me back to a wonderful last summer memory.
Thank you Trevor! That’s such a nice comment! That’s fantastic that you enjoyed your stay there last June! It really is such a lovely area. I hope you can get to go back some time! Thank you for taking the time to explain all the really interesting insights too. That’s really valuable and appreciated.
Great video Louise. I loved the river walk and you so deserved the cream tea. We went to Lynton and Lynmouth years ago when the children were little and we stayed at Butlins in Minehead. 😊
Thank you Cathy! I love it out there too. I was so lucky to live in the area for 6 years. The cream tea was so good! Definitely worth the walk for 😊 Oh Butlins…I have never stayed there but have been to a few events there. Lots of fun! 🤗
We stayed in the area once but I can't for the life of me remember where we stayed, but I'd love to try and to retrace my steps now we've moved down to the South West (Somerset). I can only recall doing a lovely woodland walk which had all sorts of interesting pixies and the like in the trees (might not be there any more, I guess it was about 20 years ago), and I recall being astonished at seeing the high water mark of 1952 which was etched high into the rockface. It might have been Lynmouth, Watersmeet or Countisbury for example. I notice you lived in the area for 6 years so you'd have a better knowledge than most, any ideas which walk I mention and where it was please ? Thanks. Rob
Oh, that’s really interesting - thanks for sharing! I must investigate as it sounds really fascinating. Welcome to Somerset! I hope you settle in quickly here and enjoy all the wonderful countryside, culture and community that it has to offer.

What a beautiful walk, some of it did look difficult underfoot. Glad to see you are a clotted cream first person.
