I really love lights with an ultra low AKA moon mode! Many reviewers have said a tactical light doesn't need an ultra low but I disagree 100% If your using a tactical torch in a possible dangerous setting having an ultra low will provide two key things- 1. It will provide you enough light to see things up close, read maps, directions etc without giving your position away which I think is critical! 2. An ultra low will not ruin your vision after your eyes have adjusted to the dark allowing you to have the advantage to see dangerous situations allowing you to assess the situation to figure out your next move! Although I also believe in a dedicated tactical light the ultra low should be a hidden mode in the UI itself so that if you need to temporary blind someone your not accidentally hitting them with moon mode..... Anyhow sorry for the long rant, just thought I would throw it out there! What do you think?? BTW, this little Olight is fantastic and thank you for sharing it with us✌

In a true tactical situation (black out ops using thermals or night vision) you would still not use white light because of how visible it is to the naked eye. In addition, even though the moon light is very low in lumen output, it would still ruin someone’s night adapted vision if they are within close proximity.
Red light is suited better for this. Although I don’t know what olight was thinking about making it 40 lumens! That’s too much red light for light discipline at night.
I’m guessing it can be used to mark flag someone down on SOS?

@@FlashBro-r4w I do wish Olight had included a lower red output initially, for night vision, stealth (if only checking on the infants), and battery life. I like the 40 lumens, but not as the only level. Once one is in red there is no reason there could not be more than one level then the SOS. I think that is my only con for this light. I do wish that brilliant green came in neutral white. I did not buy it for that reason. It is good that the Perun 2 Mini comes in OD Green, Blue, and Black in NW.

Dang, you about make me want to buy a second mini one in that lime green. That mini and their Baton 3 are by far my favorite small flashlights.

I have a baton4 premium and this perun2 mini will charge nicely in the case that comes with the baton4.

Damnit I’ve got the black one and now I’m feeling like I “need” the green. 🍻

How come some of the rechargeable energizer head lamps for much much cheaper like 20-25 dollars can produce 400 lumens for up to 4 hours?
I’m not knocking this light in any manner I’m just genuinely curious as I did buy one and wondering why it cost so much more for less lumens and battery life. Thanks

That green looks ace. I've had a Perun 2 but sold it. Too big as a head torch and just weird to hold / carry. I've got a Baton 3 but that green Perun Mini 2 is mint.

Yeah the green is very catching. Not too shabby at all.

The plight Perrun 2 mini is the bees knees as far as a joggers head lamp goes. 70 lumens… at least for me in pitch black environments at night is perfect. The 250 lumens on this light feels more like 500 lumens using the TIR Optic.
The light is weightless. You can jog, sprint or whatever physical activities you can think of.

Which is better, Cool White (CW) or Natural white (NW)?

Would be better if the beam shots are done at locations where you have close and far trees, etc. Waving it left and right constantly on the ground is nauseating.. To me anyway. Thanks for the review.

hate it. i returned it. much prefer the original mini perun, which i use every day for work and for night photography. i wanted the red light but the perun II is fiddly to use. much harder to push the button and to rotate the light. and to use the red light is fiddly. sorry but this light is not an upgrade that i need/want

Different strokes for different folks. I however am blown away by this light and the amount of versatility it has.
It makes sense the way Olight thought about the UI about this light for runners.
You’re not going to be using moon light mode while jogging because it does not put out enough area lighting to light your way when jogging. So what did they do?
When cycling through modes, they took moon light mode out and turbo. Why? Because both of them are not practical.
So the cycle goes low, medium, high then starts again.
Let’s say you’re in medium mode at 70 lumens and you need a bit more light? Double tap the power button and BAM you got turbo while your jogging.
Press 2 times from there and your back to 250 lumens. The UI was very well suited for avid runners, joggers, and hikers.
