Its fascinating how one can be in picturesque places yet have difficulties with compositions. You can drink water from babbling brooks, simply strain it through your tee shirt, lens cloth or any similar fabric. Its not the safest, however it is better than suffering from dehydration. The images at the end are INCREDIBLE, further enhanced with the pulsating catchy music; as always, a most enjoyable video.

Glad you enjoyed my country. Mull is nice but would definitely visit somewhere different for first few visits. Really loving that you guys are doing this. The different perspectives make the videos even more interesting than their normal high standard. Do come back soon ;)

The shot from inside the cave is awesome... But I agree, in South Africa, we too don't get those mossy stone walls and the overhanging trees and lush old forests... Super jealous! Thanks for sharing, Nick.

I think you should be proud of all these photos even though you think they are not up to standard. I bet most of your viewers like me would die to take photos like this. We follow to learn and you are all doing great at teaching us by sharing your insight with us. Keep up the good work and keep those videos coming. At least I enjoy this and it keeps me motivated to get better as a photographer.

Sometimes the walk in or hike can be more fun than the actual photography once you arrive and for that it can't ever be a waste of time or journey. A lot of great images in there and good to hear you enjoyed your time over here in Scotland.

Take a look at your arch shots again in 2-3 weeks and I am betting you will like them better. They are very good shots. Meanwhile, being a wildlife photographer, I would have been happy shooting the Mountain Goats the whole time. Thanks for another fun video, Nick.

Nick I have to disagree! You took great photos of that arch! I saw Tom's video and that he didn't take any pictures at all but you managed to get great results! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 (As you did with that sunset 😉)
The final photo show is awesome as well!
Looks like it has been a marvellous trip!

Nick look into filtering straws they are light weight and in a bind as long as you have a water source available the filter in those will clear all the shit out and give you fresh water

Nice images, and what a beautiful place to explore. Heads up from an avid hiker, start your hydration at least 6 hours before taking in water on a regular basis. 2 reasons for this is it lubricates your body and pretty much eliminate any chance of cramping. Also if you start well hydrated you can carry less water. Being hydrated and keeping hydrated is easier than trying to rehydrate from dehydration. Less headaches means better focus. Also not eating inside 2hrs before hand makes it easier to hike due to the body not trying to break down food while you climb hills.

Loved the video & the shots! Here’s a tip for the future, the water in Scotland is generally clean enough to drink unfiltered. However if you’re not sure, look for where it runs through the sphagnum moss. This acts as a natural filter & you’ll have no nasty after effects when you drink it!

That photo when the sun just shines through along that bent tree is just so beautiful. I think you got some really good shots on that trip, maybe for you it is a bit hard to see. Also the arch photos are great, even though I understand that composition issue. Sometimes landmarks like that one are just to big or prominent to be captured properly. What shot hit me the most is the one when you take the photo of the arch with the surrounding cage, so good. Have a good trip home or wherever you go, Nick! :)

It’s a stunning place nonetheless. I’m surprised you didn’t venture up to the Torridon or Sutherland mountains whilst you were here. So much to explore in Scotland, every area has something different.

Loved the reality of landscape photography. Sometimes it is a long hike through beautiful country and that is all it is. As a fellow "man of girth" I can tell you do the hikes now as when you are over 60 the response to a proposed long hike is likely to be...roll over and have a snooze.

Nick, for a purpose of hydration I bought a tiny water filter Sawer Mini Filter SP128. Again you have to have some source of fresh water, not salty anyway, but you mentioned you had some springs and waterfalls. Such water will be cleaned 99.99% from chemistry and bacteria. I just returned from my trip to Yosemite and tested this filter by using water from Merced river - great economy on weight, and I never had any diarrhea or other bad consequences.. I bought that filter for my upcoming Iceland trip to highlands and I'm glad I had a chance to test the filter in the field first. Satisfied 100%

Great vid and photos as always. As others have said, a water filtering device is gold.
    I have two types:
A LifeStraw brand hard case bottle
