Since the front axle is almost never loaded much, why don't we install the gooseneck hitch forward of the rear axle? With 11'+ beds on CC trucks, seems we could go 3 foot forward.

On a typical hotshot setup (3500 + 40ft trailer) maybe so but with my truck have bigger drives (13,500 rating) I’m able to withstand more with towards the front of my trailer.

Appreciate that bro! Not too many pay cash unless you happen to find the ones on the load boards that may pay cash. Or unless your dealing with a direct customer and you’ve worked that out with them. But for the most part everyone is having paper trail for the business.
I’m sure there’s something out there to make it wireless. Not sure if they do it straight from the factory or the dealership. I might have to look into that option 🤔

Get you a wireless remote and never lower that deck not on that brake pedal in the vehicle. Always stay on the brake pedal when dropping the deck. Shit happens. Just a tip from one driver to another.
They are both a Class A CDL one just has airbrake/manual restrictions. I got my CDL with no restrictions so I could jump into a semi immediately if I wanted to.
To be honest that trailer is cool but not worth 40k at all , with a nice 25 gn you get the job done for half the price ,loads not paying enough to get crazy with a trailer so be mindful stop making the banks richer

Yes the strap winder is a necessary tool. I built mine to go in a drill cause I'm lazy but saves time and space

Not to criticize but the hook should be at the center of the wind not the outside.

@@HotshotMacc the hook on the end of the ratchet strap, when you throw the strap over the load the hook should go to the far side of the trailer.
Definitely put the hook on first when winding up the straps. Next time you go to use them when you throw a strap over it won’t be backwards.
