I love how Sting originally intends for the song to be sang slow and not true to the original but the crowd demands perfection as they sing to the studio version and he ends up giving in lol. You can see him be like "Damnit! they want me to sing it right" at 0:32
@leamanc This was the first of three shows for the Amnesty International A Conspiracy Of Hope Tour in June 1986. I remember Mark Goodman (MTV) being caught off guard when the Police took the stage that day. Anyone else remember this? T
shame they ever split i was real lil when they was around always felt they could of put out more material.it was like a bad cliffhanger to a ending show
They disagreed over the sound the drums should have - Stewart was more for the classic Police sounds whereas Sting was all over the drum machine thing going round then, which you can then hear on some of Sting's early solo stuff. It then snowballed from there. Saw them in '07 though, and they were as good as ever!
i always heard that sting would refuse to allow singles to be made out of songs that were not written by him. and that he would straight refuse to play on a song that wasnt his own. ruined a good thing
Ruined a good thing? Are you familiar with the Copeland or Summers songs? You really think Mrs. Gradenko or Mother were going to be number one hits? And the "refuse to play on a song that wasn't his" is complete bullshit.
Its too bad that the Police did not continue after Synchronicity, however from what I have been able to gather Sting and Stewart just did not get along musically in terms of which direction the Police should take.
@BaronVonRotterdam really, i thought he was out of tune on the first line and it looked like he was looking for guidance from the audience to sing in tune, which they did. From then on he was fine, just my perception by the way.
It is my history , thanks for the Police ,
thanks UK
This song soothes my soul....
=.. )

So damn true !
The one dislike Doesn't like music! lol
Sting is singing perfectly in tune...it's the backing vocalists who are singing flat.
Looks like Stuart is wearing a Vancouver radio t-shirt!
Stewart is pounding the hell out of his cymbals at 4:29...
like how the changed the arrangement from their last tour
Jesus Saves!
shame they ever split i was real lil when they was around always felt they could of put out more material.it was like a bad cliffhanger to a ending show
sting would like to sing this at a slower, more blues pace. the crowd would not let him.

Electric!!!
theres a little black spot on the sun today, the venus transit, maybe six months later dec 21 2012
cause he wanted to be like Phil Collins, Lionel Richie, and Sammy Hagar, and Peter Frampton, and Hootie...

Fifty shades lol
It's not the same as three years earlier.
Did The Police tour in 1986, or was this a one-off show, like for a benefit or something?

the backing vocals. totally out of tune?

what? he made them. and then had other goals. wtf
Awful rendition.
