AWESOME BRO. I have had this remote for 3 years and never had problems with it on my television. But couldn't get it to save and remember the code for my DVD player. Lol and all I needed to do was hit the enter button!!!

I have a Philips DVD/VCR combo player. Will this remote also work for this device?
HI, I can't say for sure, but my guess is probably will.
1st. Overhead view of remote is perfect. Other videos people are holding the remote toward them so I can't see how remote light is reacting.
2nd. The reason I needed to see the remote light is because I keep getting an error flashing and couldn't program a DVD player. The reason is because THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO I see that you need to select "VCR" to program a DVD PLAYER! Not listed in the instructions or on RCA's websites. So THANK YOU!!!
3rd. I'm using this RCA remote with an RCA tv and while the "source" button will bring up the input list this remote lacks any up or down buttons so this feature is totally useless and I still have to get up and manually select inputs on the television.
So in review - RCA makes a remote where you have to program a DVD PLAYER as a VCR (even though the remote has a DVD button) AND it doesn't have complete functionality with a RCA TV. However THIS VIDEO IS GREAT AND ALL INSTRUCTIONALS SHOULD BE SHOT THIS WAY!!!

I sent for a Toshiba dvd vcr combo and need a remote for it. Do i have to program both dvd and vcr sides or one side to control both?
With the TV/ VCR combo units you have to program both as if you have 2 units, but with a DVD/ VCR combo I'm not sure on that. I would program it as a DVD and see how it does...

@@JLPicard440my Toshiba vcr dvd combo came in and with this remote you have to program both sides. Oddly as you said for the DVD side you need to use the vcr button but use the DVD codes. Vcr code works with vcr side. Glad it works.

@TevinEleven I don't remember I just followed the instructions I believe I got the codes online on a pdf because I had a used remote and it worked just fine but I have yet to try it on the DVD side but the power and vcr side works perfect so I'm sure the DVD does too you may just have to use all the codes listed till it catches I'm not sure.

Would I be able to use this to control a late 80s kenwood sound system?
It's possible. You'd have to check the code list and see if there are audio brands listed that can be put on the AUX button. If there are, there's no way to know without actually trying it.
Trying to code a Samsung dvd player . does the player have to be on 1st ? For both ways of program img?
HI, it's better if the player is on, but it really doesn't matter. The remote sends out a "power" command. It'll work whether the device is on or off. I think the reason they want it on already is because the device will respond a little bit faster. IF you pause between commands it'll be fine.

Ive programmed it for my old Sharp CRT, and when I press MENU on it, the red light flashes. It also did it when I used it for my Insignia HDTV. Other than that it works fine. I didnt realize the thing about the - button to get the inbetween digital channels, whatever they re called worked as the input select button as well...So back to Menards I went and bought the deluxe $7.98 version. But the thing I dont like about that one is when you press the TV button to switch back to TV control, it acts as the power button. Now this doesnt do that with my old Pioneer stereo I have right next to the TV. Now I have to point away from the TV to get the remote back to it.

I found an English manual online as I saw something about the MENU on the code sheet, but it was in French. When you press MENU, the volume up and down let you move left and right, and the channel up and down let you move, well, up and down.

Hey Rudy! I just got a Toshiba tv from the local pawn shop today, hooked it up (it came w/a Toshiba remote) but it wouldn't let me scan for channels or access the HDMI menu. I already had the RCA universal remote, but lost my directions. Found your video, tried my downloaded list of codes but they didn't work. Did the (could take forever) method and 6 power tries later I was in there.

HI... yes this is a pretty basic remote. It'll work the power and volume like you said, but unless you can navigate to your Smart TV icons by just using basic buttons/ functions, then it won't access that stuff.
Which device button would i push to control my digital converter box? Would i use the cable/satellite button or another button?

Yes it will work for a TV. Did you look at the code list to see if Quasar was listed? If it's not listed try the auto code search method to see if it'll hit on something that'll work..

Hmmm.. are your batteries any good? If the batteries are getting low, it'll cause it to act funny.. Other than that, I'm not sure on those questions.

I seem to remember that this one doesn't work with audio devices... I could be wrong. Check the codes and see if there's anything listed for audio devices.

7:29hrs stopped. It works. 1142 for SANYO. I didn't care to read fine 16 page print . He got to the point. What was it... Search, TV and punch in code. Had that wrote down on instructions just in case the remote got dropped and batteries flew out. It happened an had to reprogram it. Thanks!!

I think you have to program the DVD player separately.. For instance if you have a Sony TV/DVD combo, you'll need to program in a Sony TV, and a Sony DVD player separately.

Will it program a Roku ?
I don't believe this one has streaming devices. I don't remember, but judging from the buttons I don't see one for that. Most universals with streaming capability will control a Roku unless that Roku is something like a Roku stick that goes behind the TV. Those won't work.

I’ve been using this remote for over a year now on my vizio tv but if I want to watch a movie I can’t use the remote to find Netflix, my flashdrive etc. I can only use it to power on my tv, for volume, play, pause, fast forward and back and source works well but that’s all I can use it do. Any tips for me?
This remote isn't intended to work those features on a smart TV. You'll need a remote that's teachable and you'll need your original remote to teach those functions to it. Even the more expensive remotes are hit or miss whether they'll control those features either. I've yet to find a great remote that works on smart TVs, smart functions... I'm hoping somebody's going to come out with one soon..

I need to move around using left, up, down, right and enter buttons outside of menu mode. Is this something you can do?
Those buttons should work. Do they work in menu mode, but not in other mode? If that's the case, do you have a Fire Stick plugged in the back of the TV? Maybe it's in CEC mode. If that's not the case, have you tried all the codes to the remote for your TV?

i’m having trouble my controller is the exact same as yours except it doesn’t say code search under the button all it has is a 3D square on the left of where the code search button is? and when i do what you did it doesn’t stay lit up as soon as i let go of the button the light turns off.

You should be able to use the same procedure in the video but use the DVD button as the device button with the codes for sanyo. Did you try that?

I have a similar remote except there are only 3 component buttons.
Can you control more than 1 tv?

I know on some universal remotes you can do something where as you can find out what the code is by counting the red light blinks. Does my RCA remote have this function as well?

@@JLPicard440 Between you and me our manuals are dismally written and produced. Especially if done abroad. When a manual is done, they must cover every aspect of the item.

@@JLPicard440 the blue one to the left not labeled what that button ps for other viewers beware there are counterfeit rca and other universal remote out there no brand name. No box. No brand name owners manual and warranty no mark showing wear made counterfeit got 2 on eBay work for most functions except - to select sub channels like 2-3 and so one back to first qwestion what's blue button at top wear you select divice to operate blue but at top of remote

HI the minus button should work for inputting those sub-channels. Have you tried all the codes if that one is not working? BTW, I had no idea there were counterfeit remotes like this.. They aren't very expensive for an authentic one, so that was very strange to hear that! I guess they'll counterfeit anything.. 😀

Hi. I have been trying to find the code for a DV22001 Intertek. I have been pushing the power button for so long and still nothing. Steps I did. Turned on DVD PLAYER MODEL DV22001. Pushed Code search, then pushed VCR then Power button. Still not closing. Could use your help with the code. I've tried a few I saw on Google, but nothing works so far.

I don't remember specifically on this remote there's so many different ones. I think I covered it in the video... Just curious how recent are the batteries? Sometimes a marginal battery will cause it to act up when you're trying to program it.

Yes, but I don't remember what the last step was!... 😂. Auto code search? If so then yes, the remote sends out a power command, not necessarily an on or off command..
