Darn, I needed the demonstration for the DVR. This remote was bought specifically for a DVD player and I had no problem programming it. All the functions work. I just haven't been able to figure out which button opens the player. I'm having to open it manually on the player itself.

I got the dvd to go on / off, but tv not giving input option. I’m not sure why. But you very clearly and patiently explained it, and I finally got it! It will depend on what type of TV you have. There are two types. One that has an INPUT controlled by a single button, when pressing it once brings up the input menu and pressing it again changes the input selection. The second type of TV uses two buttons, one button brings up the input menu (usually labeled input or with the input icon), and then you have to use the arrow keys to move up and down the different inputs (hdmi, av, etc). You can use a universal remote on the first type of TV but not on the second type of TV. Unfortunately, with the second type of TV you simply have to use the buttons on the TV itself to change the input (or buy an original used remote on eBay). If you have the first type of TV but the input menu is not coming up, you might want to try another code until you find the right one.
Hi your explanation is very good but I have an issue connecting my DVD player Toshiba brand with Panasonic TV I can’t do it. Does the DVD need to be in specific channel ? I had tried several times and for some reason doesn’t work. Thank you
In general DVD players need to be connected to the HDMI port on the TV, and that port needs to be selected on the input menu. If it's an older DVD player with RCA connectors, then you have to select LINE (LINE IN or AV in) on the input menu. Make sure you plug in the video cable in the video hole, and audio cable in the audio hole, or else it will not work. I have never seen a DVD player with coaxial cables, but if they do exist, I would assume that they would work with channel 2 or 3 like the original Nintendo did. However, if that was the case, you would need an analog TV as a digital one would not work.
@@skywind007 Thank you, I was going to ask you about that if the TV needed to be program as well or only the DVD ? Would that work if I only want to program the DVD player. I notice that other box from tv channels were turning on with the remote but I did want to use it for that purpose, I only care for the DVD player as I lost my remote for that one. Also like you mention my tv needs to be in video 3 to use DVD , but I did know which channel in the dvd has to be ? I tried a few line 1 or 2 or channels 3 etc. I unplugged the other box for tv so it wouldn’t interfere with the remote but still would work. Thank you for your help.

If at first you don't succeed.. time for a new remote. It turns on but it won't do anything else. Thanks for the good vid though.
@@skywind007 my remote don't do it so I bought a different kind earlier but it has to go back tomorrow because it won't let me use the menu. Its only hours old but keeps having to reprogrammed.Really strange. I have to scan for channels and turn on cc sometimes, things like that so I need my menu

OMG!!!! DUDE THANK YOU SOOO FREAKING MUCH. OH GOD I GOT THE NEW 2022 LG UDH 55" AND IT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOOOO BUTTONS ON THE OUT SIDE. IT HAS 1 tiny tiny power button hidden under the TV so I would have to quickly turn it on and run around the TV and point this damn remote at that TV I mean I m by myself I don't have 4 arms or 2 body's. So I put a mirror across from me and ID just look in the mirror. But dude thank u for explaining how to install this remote. You explained it better then pros. So thank you. Alltho the screen keeps turning off every 15 to 20 minuets like on the dot. Exactly 15 to 20 minuets and the screen shuta off on its on like its programmed to shut down aftwr 15 to 20 minuets. But eather way I m happy with the results. Thank you again bud!
I have a love/hate relationship with this remote. I had no issues programming this remote to work with TV's, Roku's, and a Sony AV system. I love the shape of the remote, which is similar to a Tivo remote, but what I hate is the most pathetic worthless backlight ever and the tiniest navigation arrow keys ever. Who designed this thing? I'm keeping it though just because it works!
I wish I could say the same!! This is my second universal remote and this one says it works then turns my tv off by itself. ALL I wanted is my firestick and I am going through this junk. Im taking this remote back too and calling it a day

Try different codes. Some work better than others.

I got it to cut the TV on but the volume and the channel changer does not work
That means you are using a code that has partial functionality. Try different codes until you find one that has more complete functionality.
