Literally what I said the second I saw this.
I like this idea. I always wanted a commander that feels more like a command figure than a controlling force and this is it. He gathers the heroes under his command but their units belong to them and not to you so they will only hear on them. This I absolutely love. I‘m not very good at microing an army so for me this commander looks perfect.
Wolf Schadow would be better if zeratul is just a Protoss Hari Seldon from the foundation series, guiding Protoss with prophetic visions (tho in foundation series it’s more math than premonition) would be hilarious to see “ok I think the attack wave is gonna hit about.... now”
seems like another strong commander for the lazy lol. Don't have to micro his summons? Easy.

I want a new mini-campaign like we had with Nova but with Protoss or Zerg. Preferably Zerg. Preferably with Niadra.
I think stukov would be more interesting and different from heart of the swarm. Using the coop version of stukov infestation would be a great spin on gameplay as a starting point. THEN BRING ALARAK MISSION PACKS !

Who agrees we should get a Stukov mission pack? I think stukov would be a hero with some cool possible upgrades and storyline. Discovering his purpose in the universe instead of being rejected by all walks of life?...maybe running into past UED comrades who may try to restore him (and probably fail)...maybe a quest back to earth which stages a possible return of the UED (SC3)? There's so much freedom blizzard has with this character making it totally unique from heart of the swarm. Yeah, that'd be absolutely amazing, my dude! Too bad Blizzard is too focused on their Koreans and competitive, because who cares about us lore nerds, right?
More I think about it, how cool would it be at the end of the campaign after Stukov makes it back to earth...he legitimately gets executed for his infestation and because he was so beloved, the surprise purpose of his mission pack was for the setup of the UED's return, and showing how ruthless their new admiral is for a future villain
Agreed. It could also put Earth as very dangerous foe. Seeing how it was said that it is thriving, we could see instead of an expeditionary fleet, a fully fledge battle force that dwarfes the Golden Armada. All of Koprulu would have to join as one to stand a chance. Imagine that in the last mission you control all 3 races at once, kinda like controlling Protoss and Terran like in SC1

@@lemmingrad there is no way the Dominion and all other Terran Factions in the Koprulu Sector could invade the Earth and the UED. A Expedition Fleet was almost enough to defeat all 3 Races combined imagine what the full might of the UED Fleet would be. Could be Amazing for a potential Starcraft 3. The UED returns in FULL strenght and we have to somehow defeat them (maybe Kerrigod returns with her etenral Husbando Jimmy).

Gameplay seems super unique. It'll be interesting to see how the artifact pieces are placed across the different maps and how easy/difficult it will be to pick them up. Can't wait to try him out!

But during the end war, the golden armada fell under amons' mind control
After the protoss retook Aiur, there was still a lengthy war against Aamon between that and the prologue, which is the rough time frame that the co-op command missions are in. I think Selendis would be fantastic.
Really need an elite protoss army.

I happy to see Zeratul back. Was my favorite hero since very first Starcraft. And his Chaotic Good alignment just makes him better.

Ok, this is cool, but we need more maps dude! I know there's a decent bunch of them, but leveling gets old fast when you play the same maps over and over.
You already have plenty of ideas from the contestants of Rock the Cabinet, Blizzard!
And also... Give Nova a super Planetary Fortress (like the normal one, but shoots faster and maybe even air), please. Her defenses are too expensive and not that good; specially while playing some mutations.

First with Varok and his true disappointment in everything Sylvanas is doing and now you had to mention the words "in this alternate timeline Zeratul. You do know that coop itself is made for gameplay, and isnt connected to main story in any way, right?
Also that is way better than thinking that coop is canon, with all of plotholes it would make.
Perhaps an interesting co-op commander is Protoss Hybrid.
In an alternative universe, a hybrid destroyer rebelled against his master, Amon, and help save the universe from Amon's grasp.
His name is Maar.

Normal dark templar get recall when they die, even Zeratul in the Wings of Liberty optional missions gets recall when dies i don't understand why didn't Zeratul get recall in the cutscene

How he works is like an actual story misson. What I really want is an archon mode for the campaign
I hope Zeratul's Units are actually different than the stalker, immortal, sentry, dt, disruptor, and Warp prisms. Not small differences like the war prism being able to attack. I mean like game changing differences.
yeah, the warp prisms are actually teleporters, not transports. they form portals like the waygates in WarCraft 3, except you can move them around.
I guess we will never know what information about new coop commander in official sc2 website is supposed to tell us...

Seems like all the commanders they are adding recently are more focused on few elite units rather then armies. Guess it makes things easier for people's frame rates.
Not really. If you would pay attention, Stukov causes much less frame rate issues than Nova. That all just comes down to effects and such.

Finally, My favorite character!
Idea for next Commanders: Izsha for Zerg. Executor Selendis for Protoss. Valerian for Terran.
And before you say anything, let me explain. Izsha would be capped at a population of 100. (that is all that she can personally control) No Overlords, and a bare-chitin Zerg kit, with unique perks that other Zerg commanders don't have. Like the Zergling Reconstitution from the Campaign. This, combined with any of the other Zerg commanders, would make her rather formidable even with the limits.
Selendis would be similar, having a basic Protoss kit, but with Arbiters as her special unit. She focuses on sustained damage with long range siege units and her Arbiters are able to move her entire army to the enemy's front door, or the next objective point.
Valerian, again, basic Terran kit, but with Medivacs. Focusing on healing and keeping his small but powerful army alive (being Emperor, he has access to all of Nova's tech and Rigel works for him).
Merely an idea, but I think they could make it work.
They have made a "What If?" Co-op Commander for Terran and Protoss (Tychus and Zeratul respectfully). But I question; who will be the Zerg faction "What If?". Perhaps Niadra? Or perhaps a Cerebrate, I would actually like to see one in StarCraft 2 still alive.

Duran is Narud, do you really think Duran would turn against Amon? Plus, Narud was killed by Stukov. Though if he did, I would be very surprised.
Phaxtolgia well, Narud was in charge of Mobius, which is the Terran forces who work for Amon. It would be a stretch why he would fight against the faction he founded.

I know right, to me another shadow templar was not needed. I'd rather they make an alarak mission pack and have him ditch nova for Tosh as his new human minion.
blizzard said that they stopped making mission packs altogether after the ghost mission pack. I think its really disappointing - activision probably want them to focus on multiplayer content mostly
