I'm not as confident as Fareed about America's future, or that of the world. Whilst there are certain things that are not going back in the bottle our enlightenment world is extremely fragile, and that's when its working to design. Culture and identity are becoming important in a way that they WEREN'T 20 years ago, and in a way that they have been for the majority of human history.

It's hilarious that Trump, who is basically a 90's Democrat, is somehow supposed to be the "end of the Enlightenment."

27:55 This is completely false - successful _startups_ have in the past been dominated by college dropouts. However the actual working, hired staff at these companies are almost entirely college graduates. The majority of startups are also now started by college graduates. Fareed's information was accurate 15-20 years ago, but the tech industry has changed since then. The more tech oriented we become, the more people without tech degrees will fall behind. That is the concern about a technocracy.

@@ΕιρήνηΟύμα It’s the delusional capitalist maxim “a rising tide raises all ships” disguised with revolutionary vernacular, so the violence of mass production continues dispossessing the working classes under the banner of supposed progress, it’s disgusting

That's another factor that I wondered about Andrew, unlike Zombies do. How much was he asked about his family and his obviously extremely interesting family history or anything else of cultural importance that he's surrounded by, spending time with the crowd that got him in serious lifelong damaging irreversible trouble?. It's not funny, unless hits dark humor, but it's true about that's the way it is. He was just seen as the rich prince to take advantage of him and his family and his generosity. I'm not a princess but exactly what happened to me. God may see me as a princess, but that's a different story.

The influx into Europe is not the physical manifestation of globalisation, globalisation is a technology and trade revolution. Mass immigration is a completely separate issue.
