  • An amazing private Onsen (hot spring bath) in every room of this traditional Japanese hotel! This is definitely one of the most unique onsen hotels that I have ever stayed in! The Yufuin Gettouan Hotel is located in Kyushu Japan in the Mt Aso region and only has 18 rooms.

Wow, a private onsen! That sounds quite heavenly! I really like the walk from the check-in area over to where the rooms are especially as you walk across that bridge with the spectacular scenery around you.

Not often you walk over a rope bridge to get to your hotel room :)

Kinda reminds me of the places my family went to for weekends in autumn years ago.
I'd imagine I would feel very nostalgic if I stayed in this hotel

i believe the long stick with the flat piece at the end is to stir the onsen's water to mix the hot and cold water. the other should be a net of sorts to skim dead leaves/flowers

That tool at the bath is to push around cold water around in the onsen in case the onsen is too hot for you. What you do is, you release cold water into the onsen and with that wooden stick, push the cold water around so you can distribute temperature low enough for you to get in

Thanks Noda! What do you do with the flat basket looking thing?

I once was seeing a guy, when I rambled about places I want to visit.. Said "I just dont get the travel thing. I mean the dirt is same over here & over there" ◔~◔ That was the first red flag for me!
